PAMPERED BY MY THREE BROTHERS: THE RETURN OF THE NEGLECTED HEIRESS-Chapter 1782: Kicked me out
Chapter 1782: Kicked me out
Just to be sure, Mint had checked the people who confronted her for any tattoos that Penny mentioned in her message. Sure enough, they all had the same dot tattoos. Once Mint was certain that all the moles had been filtered out, she sent her teams to their target location.
Of course, she didn’t disclose Penny’s message.
Everyone already believed Penny was dead. Mint wasn’t sure about that, but she wanted to believe Penny was still alive somewhere. If she were, then there was even more reason not to tell anyone Penny was alive—to prevent anyone from looking for her.
"So!" Mint cleared her throat and flashed a smile at the newcomers. "Can you let me borrow your chopper?"
Haines, Wild, Lester, and everyone who came with them just stared at her.
"I need to—"
"Please stay," Mint interrupted Wild before he could finish his sentence. "I’m not asking you to stay because it’s dangerous, but because I need some people to stay here."
Her brows shot up as she glanced at the men with them. "Do you guys know how to operate those things?" She then moved to the tent’s entrance and pointed to the communication device inside. "I’m not talking about the people who had their heads blown off, but those devices."
"They should know how," Wild said, glancing at his men. "You guys know how to work those things, right?"
"I’ve had some experience, but I’m not sure if I can operate them properly," Haines declared. "I helped Penny and Yugi at the start of Prime Group, but I’m only familiar with the basics."
They all turned to the young fighters with them. The group exchanged glances until one of them raised his hand.
"I can try...?"
After all, Wild had brought fighters, not tech experts. They didn’t think they would need to play with computers.
"Uh..." Lester cleared his throat, his brows rising nervously. "I think... I think I can take a look and see what I can do with it?"
Everyone’s eyes landed on him. Wild frowned, and Mint arched a brow. Haines slowly nodded in realization. One of the reasons Yugi went with Penny was that Yugi had always looked up to his father. fгeewёbnoѵel_cσm
And just like his father, Lester, Yugi aspired to be just like him—or perhaps, even better.
"Right," Haines blurted out. "You’re an engineer."
"Software! Software engineer," Lester corrected, scratching the back of his head. "And a little bit of hardware... after years of working in the same industry. But please, can we do something about these guys? They’re scaring me."
Wild jerked his chin at his men. "Get these things out of here. Remove them from our site, and clean up the blood in the tent. I don’t like the smell of it."
With that, the group cleared the hill and hid the bodies out of sight for now. Even the bodies in the tent were carried out, with Wild helping with the cleanup. Even so, without proper cleaning tools, there were still blood smudges on everyone.
"Go, do your work," Wild urged, while Lester looked around the tent.
Lester sighed heavily, telling himself to ignore the red stains on the tent and just start working. But before that, he requested, "Can we at least keep the door open? The smell in here is making me dizzy."
"This guy... how the hell are you still alive after marrying your wife?" Wild scrunched up his nose before shooting his men a look. "Help this guy out and ventilate the place."
The men began rolling up parts of the tent to ensure consistent airflow. Lester, on the other hand, nervously sat down in one of the chairs and checked the device. Haines sat next to him, having a bit of experience from assisting Penny and Yugi with Prime Group.
As for Wild, he had nothing else to do since his only role in Prime Group was as a bodyguard.
"What do I have to do again?" Lester asked, looking up at Mint.
"Find anything suspicious here that was illegally connected to these devices. If possible, trace them too. Also—" Mint pulled a walkie-talkie from her back pocket. "If you can, restore our connection. I believe the guy who was seated here earlier sabotaged our signals before trying to kill me."
She paused, then huffed. "Can you do that?"
"I can try..." Lester trailed off, reaching for the device. "But I need to check them first."
"All my men have already left, and we don’t have time to confiscate devices."
Lester scratched his forehead and nodded. "I need a sample at least. However, anyone with the same device can listen to the radio once I override the system. If there’s an enemy who—"
"Don’t worry. These devices were all designed for Homeland Security, and the moles were already shot down," Mint interrupted, shooting a look at her men. "Retrieve one or two of the same devices from the bodies."
The man she directed that to didn’t question the order and simply left the tent to retrieve the devices from one of the bodies they had hidden away. As he walked out, Mint turned her attention back to Lester.
"By the way, is it also possible to contact Yugi Cortez from that device?" she asked. "I need him to get some shots in here as part of the evidence gathering. Some of my men are deployed here for the arrest—if there will be an arrest."
"I’ll try," Lester nodded. "I think I’m familiar with Prime Group’s IP."
"Good." Mint exhaled in relief, grateful that Haines and Wild had taken Yugi’s father with them. Otherwise, luck would be the only communication and backup they would have.
"You should go now," Wild said, giving Mint a nod. "We’ll secure the area and make sure no one disrupts things. As for you, do what you must, young lady."
"We’ll do our best," Haines added, with Lester nodding at Mint.
"Sir Charles is around the ocean," Mint said. "He might come up here, so..."
"Don’t worry about us old men!" Wild snorted. "If things go sideways, it’s easy to grab a gun."
Mint pressed her lips into a thin line before nodding. "I’ll wait for the radio."
With that, Mint walked out of the tent. As she did, the man she had sent out was already walking back in.
"Hand it over to them," she ordered, not breaking her stride as she approached the end of the slope.
At the same time, the chopper Wild’s team had used slowly ascended, moving closer to her position. The wind caused almost everything to blow away, but Mint stood firm. When it was close enough, she jumped into it.

Wild watched Lester, Haines, and two of his men, who had enough knowledge to assist Lester. Seeing them work, Wild shrugged and walked out of the tent, knowing the others were scouting the area to ensure it was safe.
But then, when he stepped out, Wild spotted someone idling near the cliff.
"Why are you here?" Wild asked, approaching the man. "Aren’t you supposed to be with the young lady?"
The man turned to Wild and shrugged. He was the pilot of their aircraft.
"The young lady said she doesn’t need a pilot," the pilot said. "So, she kicked me out."
"Hah." Wild rocked his head, shifting his gaze to the sky. "That young lady... what the hell is she planning?"
