Chapter 666: Chapter 658: I’ll Let Her Go to You (Part One)

His captivating eyes narrowed into a hazy gaze, and his breath became hotter and hotter.

This won’t do!

Qi Helian’s brow trembled, knowing that continuing like this would be dangerous. He pressed his hands against the mattress and, with a push, straightened his waist, breaking free from Ji Anning’s hands.

With her arms suddenly empty, she raised her hands again nervously, flailing about, "Uncle."

"Anning," Qi Helian grabbed Ji Anning’s hands, soothing her gently, "Don’t be sad, he loves you, he really loves you."

His voice was filled with magnetism and allure.

Ji Anning’s emotions really did stabilize with his comforting, her lips pursed and her voice a bit hoarse, "Thirsty, water."

"Alright, I’ll get it for you."

Qi Helian carefully withdrew his hand from Ji Anning’s grasp and got up to pour her some warm water; she was still unconscious and couldn’t drink by herself.

Having no choice, he had to feed her. He bent over, sat on the edge of the bed, and reached behind her back, gently lifting her up.

Just as he was about to bring the cup to Ji Anning’s lips, suddenly a figure rushed in from the doorway, snatched the cup from his hand, and forcefully pulled her away from his arms and into his own.

Taken by surprise, Qi Helian froze for a moment before he could react.

Then his face darkened, and he grabbed Ji Chicheng’s collar with one hand, glaring at him through gritted teeth, "In such cold weather, do you want to freeze her to death?"

Ji Chicheng and Xiang Yiqing both knew the password to his apartment lock, so Ji Chicheng’s sudden appearance didn’t surprise him at all.

"If I freeze her to death, what’s it to you?" Ji Chicheng gave Qi Helian a cold look, his tone as frigid as his gaze.

Then he pushed away Qi Helian’s hand, looked down at the unconscious girl in his arms, and the rage in his eyes flickered subtly. Yet seeing her lips cracked and bleeding, the hand gripping Ji Anning’s shoulder loosened tenderly as he brought the water cup to her lips.

He fed her a mouthful; Ji Anning opened her mouth, but the water spilled from the corner of her lips, trickling behind her ear.

Ji Chicheng simply took a sip himself, then bowed his head and pressed his lips to Ji Anning’s, transferring the water from his mouth to hers.

Upon seeing this, Qi Helian stood up automatically and silently left the room.

After drinking the water, Ji Anning settled down; she lay quietly with her eyes closed.

The man’s dark brooding eyes were locked steadfastly on her delicate little face. He watched, every second ticking by, for so long that the layer of sweat on Ji Anning’s forehead had completely dried.

Only when the redness on her cheeks gradually returned to normal did he reach out and gently touch her forehead with the back of his hand to check her temperature.

In that moment, he unknowingly let out a sigh of relief.

Then, he stood up and left the room without looking back, opening the door to an extravagantly luxurious living room, brightly lit.

The handsome man clad in a black shirt stood before a floor-to-ceiling window, his back to the view outside. He saw Ji Chicheng coming out of the room, withdrew his hands from the pockets of his dress pants, and began to slowly walk towards him.

Without pausing, Ji Chicheng glanced at Qi Helian and continued walking towards the front door.

It seemed like he was about to leave. Qi Helian quickened his pace to catch up with him, "Ji Chicheng, what do you mean by this?"

He reached out and grabbed Ji Chicheng’s arm, holding him back, his eyes questioning.
