Chapter 585: Chapter 352: Who Will Win or Lose in This Monthly Exam? [Part 2]

Nora originally planned to leave after meeting Crystal.

But, since dinner was in the works and the family of three insisted she stay, she didn’t refuse.

Additionally, she brought two tagalongs.

— Marcus and Oliver, who had just finished school.

"Sis."

Oliver remained the polite and handsome young man, not losing his basic manners from hanging out with Marcus too long.

After greeting Nora, Oliver called out to the other two: "Miss Hughes, Hughes—"

Looking at the young and handsome Peter Hughes, Oliver got stuck, momentarily stunned.

"Bro."

Peter casually responded.

Oliver followed along smoothly, "Hughes Bro!"

Marcus + Andrew: "..."

After years of everyone calling each other randomly, they both could calmly accept any confusion in seniority now.

The six of them sat at the same table, no hierarchical differences, so naturally, the food was grabbed without politeness.

Nora had just sent a message to Pedro Langley, and when she looked up, the plate of chicken wings had been completely devoured, not a trace left.

"..."

Because of this, Nora sent another message, cursing Pedro a bit.

By the time she looked back at the table, a plate of braised pork was also almost gone.

She immediately abandoned the idea of scolding Pedro in real-time, rolled up her sleeves, and seriously joined the fierce battle at the table.

Half an hour later, seven dishes and a pot of rice were all finished by six people.

After the meal, Crystal sipped the honey grapefruit tea that Marcus brewed, sitting on the sofa contentedly.

Peter looked at Crystal, his always worried expression eased a lot.

Crystal didn’t eat much, just half a bowl of rice, but she did manage to grab two chicken wings.

Compared to what she ate in the past few days, it was pretty good.

Keeping Nora here by force was a right decision.

"Marcus, when did you become interested in Mecha?" Crystal asked Marcus.

"Not interested." Marcus handed another cup of honey grapefruit tea to Nora, frowning slightly before answering, "I’m just making up the numbers."

"Stubborn."

Oliver, who was only allowed to drink water, spared no effort in exposing him.

Marcus gave Oliver a frosty glance.

Oliver remained fearless.

Crystal chuckled and asked, "The preliminaries are tomorrow, right? Where are they taking place?"

Oliver gave an address, then asked, "Miss Hughes, are you going?"

Turning her head to look at the quietly sitting Andrew, Crystal asked, "Is Andrew interested in going?"

"..."

Still engrossed in Nora’s paper cutout, Andrew was suddenly called, and looked up blankly.

Crystal patiently repeated the question.

Looking up, Andrew asked, "Is Mom going?"

"If you go, Mom will go."

"Then I’ll go."

Andrew answered immediately.

Even though he found watching Marcus and Oliver play with Mecha boring, he agreed without hesitation.

Peter had privately tasked Andrew with accompanying Crystal, encouraging her to go out more instead of staying home all the time.

"Okay." Patting Andrew’s head, Crystal turned her head to ask Oliver, "Do we need tickets or something?"

"The preliminaries are open to the public," Oliver answered, then looked a bit embarrassed, "Actually, at this stage of the event, usually no one comes to watch."

Right now, it’s the preliminaries, selected by province, choosing one team per province. However, Fenton City, being the host, gets two extra spots, exceptionally choosing three teams.

Starting in June, it’ll last for a month.

The official national Mecha competition is scheduled for late July.

By then, all the high school exams will be over, and it’ll be summer vacation, giving everyone time and energy to participate. There’s also a break in between, allowing each team to adjust their Mecha.

The big event is in late July.

This month... it’s mostly just casual play. Due to the many teams and tight scheduling, the whole process is quite boring.

"Might as well watch," Nora propped her chin with one hand and said leisurely, "In case we get eliminated in the preliminaries, there might not be another chance to watch later."

Marcus + Oliver: "..."

Crystal silently took a sip of tea.

Peter, smoking on the balcony, nearly choked on his cigarette hearing Nora’s remark.

— Is this legendary tough love?

"Thanks, sis." Rubbing his face, Oliver said seriously, "We’ll do our best."

"Even if you don’t, it’s okay," Nora continued pouring toxic chicken soup, "If you don’t advance, you’ll have a nice summer vacation."

Oliver was silent for two seconds, then quietly tugged on Marcus’s sleeve, leaned in a little, and asked for guidance in a low voice, "What’s this about?"
