Out of Control: Into Your Everything-Chapter 29: Don’t Move, Be Good
Julian Ford’s bed is much more comfortable than the sofa or the guest room.
Scarlett Shaw, however, didn’t sleep very well.
She woke up before dawn.
She and Julian Ford had maintained their pre-sleep posture, with her nestled in his arms and his large hand resting on her waist.
Scarlett shifted slightly, wanting to get up, but was held down by Julian Ford.
"Don’t move, be good."
The tone was so familiar and intimate.
Scarlett even wondered if Julian Ford was not fully awake, mistaking her for Zoe Sutton.
In the past, Scarlett might occasionally brush off Julian Ford’s words, but now, their relationship had changed. In bed or out of bed, she was completely obedient, with no room to defy orders. So she stayed still, lying there like a corpse, leaning against Julian Ford’s chest.
But lying there, Scarlett actually fell asleep again.
When she woke up again, she was alone in the bed.
As Scarlett got dressed, Julian Ford came out of the walk-in closet, impeccably dressed in a shirt and trousers.
But his demeanor was distant and cold, with not a flicker of emotion in his eyes as he looked at her.
It was so different from when they had been together before.
Julian Ford had a tie in his hand and gestured to Scarlett as his gaze swept over her.
Scarlett understood, stepped forward, took the tie from Julian’s hand, looped it around his neck, and skillfully and meticulously tied it up.
"Quite adept."
Julian Ford’s hand rested on her waist as he asked nonchalantly:
"How many times have you tied Ryan Ford’s ties?"
Scarlett’s fingers paused at the tie knot, and as she withdrew her hand, she answered honestly, "I’ve never tied it for him."
Julian Ford raised an eyebrow slightly.
His large hand slid down along Scarlett’s waistline, his palm pressing against her hand.
"Put it on."
Scarlett looked down and was momentarily stunned when she saw the tie clip he placed in her hand.
It was the one she had given him last time.
Julian Ford: "Need me to say it a second time?"
Scarlett hurriedly complied.
The tie clip was deep blue, versatile, and though it only cost five figures, it added a touch of luxury and elegance to Julian Ford.
"Good taste."
Julian Ford looked at Scarlett in the mirror, his tone indifferent.
It was rare to hear him say something positive, and Scarlett was surprised, but she still pretended to suck up to him, "It’s because of you, you look good, everything you wear has style."
Julian Ford glanced at her, "Stop pretending."
Scarlett: "..."
If I really criticized you, you’d hold a grudge.
You’re really hard to please.
...
Before heading out, Julian Ford gave Scarlett a key.
This was the key Scarlett had used when she took care of Julian Ford at Cloud Mansion last time when he was sick.
Giving it to her again now, the meaning was obvious—
He wanted her to directly move into Cloud Mansion.
Scarlett hadn’t forgotten that Ryan Ford also lived in Cloud Mansion at this time, so she hesitated and said, "President Ford, this is your family, and it’s not quite appropriate for an outsider like me to have a key."
Julian Ford stared at her intensely for a few seconds.
Suddenly, he smiled, "Are you so afraid of Ryan finding out?"
"I just think it’s better to avoid unnecessary trouble," Scarlett paused, then added, "Besides, you and Ryan are brothers, I don’t want to affect your relationship because of me, right?"
Julian Ford said calmly, "You think quite highly of yourself."
Scarlett agreed, "That’s also because you think highly of me."
Julian Ford chuckled softly, and Scarlett was puzzled.
But since she hadn’t taken the key, Julian Ford naturally wouldn’t force it on her and simply tossed the key back.
A few days later, Scarlett received a message from Julian Ford, telling her to come to Cloud Mansion that evening.
He didn’t need to say explicitly; she knew what was expected.
However, when Scarlett arrived at the time Julian had given, she realized Julian wasn’t home at all.
She couldn’t reach him either.
Without the homeowner’s consent, Cloud Mansion’s property management wouldn’t even let her inside.
Scarlett had no choice but to wait for him on the street.
The winter night was bitterly cold, and after three hours in the freezing wind, she finally saw the familiar Bentley pull up leisurely in front of her.
Julian Ford told her to get in the car.
Shivering from the cold, Scarlett quickly climbed in. The car was heated, and she rubbed her hands together comfortably, blurting out:
"President Ford, since you only got back at this time, why notify me so early?"
Julian Ford held the steering wheel with one hand, drove into the underground parking, and glanced at her, "Was waiting hard?"
Scarlett nodded.
You try standing in the freezing wind for three hours.
Julian Ford barely curled his lips, his eyes calm.
It wasn’t until they parked and walked into the elevator together that he spoke in a low voice, "If you had the key, would you still have to wait in the cold wind?"
"..."
Scarlett’s mouth twitched, "Couldn’t you just give a specific time?"
Julian Ford paused at the elevator, his eyes lowered, scrutinizing her with a faint smile on his lips.
Scarlett felt a chill on her scalp and quickly humbled herself, "You’re the boss, you can do whatever you want."
She had figured out his peculiar temperament.
If he wasn’t happy, he would never say it outright.
He would find a chance to either torment or scold you, making you suffer until you voluntarily admitted you were wrong.
In short, opposing him was a dead end.
Scarlett followed Julian Ford back to the Cloud Mansion, and the first thing she did was cleverly ask Julian for the key.
Julian Ford glanced at her, "When it was offered, you didn’t want it, and now you think it’s that easy to get it?"
After waiting three hours in freezing conditions, Scarlett had become immune to Julian Ford’s verbal manipulations.
He always had a thousand ways to make people want to bash his head in yet could only gnash their teeth and be helplessly angry.
Learning from her mistakes, Scarlett wisely kept her mouth shut.
Instead, she went over to Julian Ford, wrapped her arms around his waist, and sweetly said:
"Brother, I was wrong."
The firm muscles under her embrace slightly tensed.
Julian Ford looked down, patting her head, "You’re learning quickly."
Scarlett: "Because you teach well, brother."
Julian Ford raised his eyebrows.
Scarlett could only silently sigh in her heart.
She felt that the longer she stayed with Julian Ford, the more her shamelessness improved, and she would eventually master it completely.
Even saying such embarrassing things didn’t make her blush anymore.
Since Scarlett behaved well, Julian Ford quickly relented and gave her the key.
This was right after he had helped her freshen up and carried her to bed.
Scarlett was a bit thirsty, so she subconsciously said, "I want some water."
Right after, she realized that this was the boss, and she had no right to order him around.
So she got off the bed to find water in the living room.
Julian Ford’s indifferent gaze swept over her, "Not tired enough?"
Scarlett was confused, "?"
He withdrew his gaze and, after stepping out of the bedroom, returned with a glass of water, handing it to her.
Scarlett obediently took it.
She was really thirsty and downed it in one go. After hesitating a bit, she asked, "May I have some more?"
Julian Ford took the glass, filled it again for her, his expression calm and without a hint of impatience, his usual superior demeanor was somewhat subdued.
Scarlett gave him several more looks.
