Chapter 460: Chapter 438: I Saw This Day Coming

Sienna Thornton walked over and sat down next to Simon Forrester, a bit emotional: "Why do you care about them?"

Simon Forrester raised an eyebrow and smiled, shifting his gaze to the staircase: "I was just reminding Thornton that they should come out to welcome you."

"Who would still care about their welcome? It would be best if we never see each other..."

Sienna was whispering when she suddenly heard two different footsteps coming from the stairs. She ignored it and continued to whisper in Simon’s ear.

Mina Thorne followed Quentin Thorne down and sat opposite Sienna and Simon.

Quentin continued to make tea: "Mina, hurry and greet your sister. Your sister will be staying with us for a while."

Mina Thorne said "Oh," looked up at Sienna and Simon, her face still expressionless, and greeted them in an emotionless tone: "Hi, Cyrus, Sienna."

Quentin’s face stiffened at this greeting.

Sienna raised an eyebrow at Mina, studying her several times.

Mina was wearing a warm flannel home outfit, looking a bit chubby. She still wore black-rimmed glasses, with inward-curving bob hair and bangs.

Sienna curled up one side of her lips into a smile, saying nothing.

Even though Quentin had expected this scene, it was still quite awkward and embarrassing when it actually happened.

He tried to find a topic to lighten the mood: "Mina, your sister also studied law at Braden University, but she was in the graduate school."

Mina said "Oh" again, expressionlessly staring at Sienna, not saying much, always keeping her words to one sentence: "I heard in my senior year that there was a senior in the graduate school who looked a lot like me."

In fact, everyone at that time said Sienna was the high-end version, and she was the low-end version. However, she wouldn’t say such meaningless things to let Sienna find superiority in her.

Sienna didn’t say a word, always raising her eyebrows at her, her gaze naturally carrying a bit of coldness and inquiry.

Their gazes met in the air, engaging in an unspoken confrontation.

Simon felt it, smiled, and teased: "Didn’t you say it backward? The senior is older than you, so it should be you who looks like the senior, right?"

It wasn’t really backward because everyone thought the senior looked two years younger than Mina, just that she went to school early.

Simon’s words were clearly meant to secretly encourage Sienna, and Mina didn’t want to respond.

Seeing the atmosphere becoming increasingly unfavorable and everyone sitting awkwardly, Quentin smiled and invited, "Let’s all help take Annie’s suitcase upstairs, and we’ll go out for lunch."

Simon asked, "Aren’t we eating at home?"

Quentin smiled rather awkwardly: "Mina’s mom isn’t here, and I won’t cook. Let’s all eat out."

Simon deliberately asked, "Is it because you don’t like cooking or you can’t cook?"

Quentin deflected: "Usually, Mina’s mom handles the meals, so I don’t have many chances to cook, and my cooking skills aren’t great."

Simon just chuckled, thinking to himself, you seem quite skilled at cooking at Aunt Linton’s place.

.

The four of them went up to the second floor together. Sienna’s room was right next to Mina’s, approximately fifteen square meters, with a 1.5-meter double bed, custom wardrobe, desk, and bookshelf integrated furniture, a simple ready-made dressing table, and a flat-screen TV hanging on the wall opposite the bed.

A very ordinary and clean room. It was clear that the bed and wardrobe were custom-made during a previous renovation, and the rest were bought ready-made, presumably purchased by Quentin just before she came to stay.

Sienna couldn’t say whether she liked it or not; anyway, like the home, she had no feelings for the room, so she had no opinions about it either.

Quentin took her to familiarize herself with the second-floor environment, and then he took Mina downstairs.

Simon stayed in the room and helped Sienna pack her luggage, not forgetting to comfort her: "That sister of yours doesn’t seem to have any ill intentions. She also helped with the luggage just now; she seems okay."

Regarding Mina, Sienna didn’t mind much: "It doesn’t matter. I don’t want a deep sisterly bond with her. It’s best if she treats me like I’m air."

.

On the way to eat out, Simon drove, and Quentin sat in the passenger seat. Mina and Sienna sat in the back, each gazing out the window, ignoring each other.

Quentin saw this, feeling helpless inside, yet knowing he couldn’t rush things.

They had lunch at a restaurant near the villa area, and after Simon took them back, he stayed in the room with Sienna for a while. Seeing Quentin frequently knocking on the door to talk about things was a sign to leave, he didn’t stay long, leaving for the old house before three o’clock.

Once everyone left, Sienna locked the door and took a nap. Upon waking up, the sky outside the window was a fiery orange-red, paired with the brisk autumn wind, making one feel inexplicably sad. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

"There’s a psychological condition called something, you know?" Sienna called Simon as soon as she woke up, "It’s called ’autumn depression’!"

On the other end, Simon chuckled: "Isn’t that ’seasonal affective disorder’? You’re such an illiterate."

Sienna lay on the bed laughing uncontrollably, remembering three years ago when she rejected Simon and was sad for a long time. So she realized that she just had ’seasonal affective disorder’ then...

Simon was quite bored at the old house with Elder Forrester, so he chatted away with Sienna on the phone. Before they knew it, night had fallen.

Sienna was complaining to him about how staying in the Thorne family room felt particularly cold. She hadn’t finished when someone knocked on the door. Quentin called from outside, "Annie, come down to eat."

"Oh, okay!" Sienna responded, bid farewell to Simon, and quickly hung up the phone.

She changed into a casual outfit, high-waisted jeans, a white waist-hugging crop sweater, and a high ponytail, making her figure look both tall and delicate.

As she went downstairs, she saw Quentin making tea and watching TV in the living room. Mina was nowhere to be seen, but a few homemade dishes were already placed on the dining table, and someone was busy in the kitchen.

Judging by the short stature, it seemed to be Ian Grant.

Sienna quickly looked away, went to the living room without much expression, greeted Quentin, and sat down to watch the news together. As she watched, she noticed Quentin was replaying the news from a few days ago at seven o’clock.

It was, of course, to watch her being interviewed by the official media.

She felt a bit embarrassed but wanted to hear Quentin’s opinion, so she mustered the courage to watch along.

After a while, the camera showed her, and Quentin turned up the volume slightly, watching very seriously. When her segment was over, Quentin looked over and smiled: "You did well that day, graceful, professional, and in good form!"

Sienna smiled and said, "Thank you," then asked, "Is there anything that needs improvement? Feel free to say, and I’ll remember."

Quentin waved his hand: "No, it was great, keep it up!"

Sienna felt a bit happy, her thoughts drifting to the last time she appeared on TV: "Two years ago, you advised me not to participate in shows like ’Lawyer Speaks’ anymore, nor to take on certain sensitive cases. Actually, did you foresee this day back then?"
