Chapter 204: Chapter 202: Simon Forrester’s Birthday Gift

Sienna Thornton naturally recognized Ronan Grant and guessed he might know about her relationship with Simon Forrester.

In that instant, she pointed at herself with great composure: "Hi, do we know each other?"

"We do! Weren’t you with Cyrus...?" At this point, Ronan remembered Simon had asked him to keep the B&B purchase a secret, so he quickly clammed up. Glancing at Simon, he saw a murderous look on Simon’s face and realized he might have misspoken. He quickly changed his tune, "Aren’t you Marilyn Thornton, Ms. Thornton?"

Sienna smiled, "No, I’m not Marilyn Thornton."

Ronan feigned an apology, "Sorry, I mistook you for someone else." With that, he swiftly slipped behind Old Master Grant.

Only then did everyone else return from their surprise.

Old Master Forrester laughed heartily, and his laughter echoed under the porch. He patted Ronan on the shoulder, "You must have had too much to drink, mistaking one sister for another! This is Mr. Thornton from the Forrester Group, not your Ms. Thornton."

"Oh, oh, I indeed drank too much," Ronan murmured quietly.

Bianca Fordham glanced at Mrs. Forrester, whose face was cold as she stood behind Simon Forrester, and chuckled lightly, "So Jules’s girlfriend is named Marilyn Thornton?"

Afraid the situation would get out of hand, Old Master Forrester hurriedly urged them to leave, not forgetting to remind Sienna to visit the old house more often.

The group gradually left the restaurant, with Old Master Forrester leading Old Master Grant inside, boasting as they walked, "Grant, we Forrester’s are going to have a wedding soon. You’ve got to bring your grandsons to join the celebration!"

Old Master Grant adjusted his small round glasses and asked, "What’s the happy occasion? Your daughter-in-law agreed to have a second child?"

"Our Jules is getting married, and our granddaughter-in-law agreed to have three great-grandchildren!" he said, holding up three fingers.

Old Master Grant laughed heartily, "Well, Fletcher, you’re finally getting what you wished for."

Walking behind them, Mrs. Forrester already had a thoroughly dark expression on her face.

-

Outside the main gate, Sienna Thornton found her small Volvo among a fleet of luxury cars.

Steven Chapman, walking behind, asked Simon Forrester, "Young Mr. Ford, will you sit in the back or the front?"

Simon Forrester modestly replied, "The backseat is comfortable, with more space, I’ll leave it for Mr. Chambers and Mr. Chase."

With that, Chapman and Chase said no more, smiling as they got in the backseat, while Simon Forrester got into the front passenger seat.

Sienna Thornton got into the driver’s seat but suddenly found no place for her backpack. Just as she intended to open the car door to put the bag in the trunk, Simon Forrester reached out his hand, "I’ll take the bag for you."

She hesitated for a moment, glanced at the rearview mirror, and saw the two vice presidents looking for their seatbelts, not paying attention to this side, so she quickly handed the bag to Simon Forrester.

Simon Forrester took it, smiled at her, and held the bag in his arms.

Throughout the journey, the car’s atmosphere was unusually quiet.

Sienna Thornton focused on driving, and the two vice presidents in the back, because Simon Forrester was in the car, ceased their idle chatter and closed their eyes to rest.

After driving for a while, Simon Forrester asked blandly, "Mr. Chambers, now that the board has decided to allocate 1.5 million per month to the legal department as a tax incentive, I’d like to know how you’ll distribute this money?"

Sienna Thornton remained composed, focusing on her driving.

Steven Chapman was energized by Simon’s question, using his hand to prop himself up as he sat straight.

He naturally understood that Simon Forrester wanted to secure something substantial for Sienna Thornton in front of her, to inspire a sense of gratitude and submission in her, which would make it easier to control her.

With that understanding, Steven Chapman felt there was no harm in playing along. In his eyes, Sienna Thornton was tied to Thomas Reed, which meant she was on the same boat as him.

Offending Sienna Thornton in this matter wouldn’t benefit him, and being generous here could simultaneously please both Simon Forrester and Sienna Thornton.

After pondering for a while, Steven Chapman considered his words carefully, "This matter is mainly led by Mr. Thornton, with the tax team cooperating, so the reward should rightfully go to Mr. Thornton and the tax team. As for the distribution, that should be up to Mr. Thornton."

Simon Forrester said, "Since Mr. Chambers suggests this, I’ll notify the finance department to pay according to Mr. Thornton’s specified plan."

Steven Chapman replied, "Yes, Young Mr. Ford, you’re considerate."

As she drove, Sienna Thornton couldn’t help but smile, knowing Simon Forrester had not forgotten about this matter, and with just a few words, he had the money redirected back to her.

The way he protected his own was quite similar to Old Master Forrester.

-

"Mr. Chase, take it slow."

"Young Mr. Ford and Mr. Thornton, you two take it slow as well." Mr. Chase said these words and then got out of the car.

Sienna Thornton stepped on the gas, merging the car into the bustling stream of traffic.

The car’s interior was dimly lit, with occasional brilliant neon lights from the streets casting soft hues on Sienna’s face.

Watching her, Simon Forrester turned to her without speaking, simply staring at her thoughtfully.

Sienna glanced at him and smiled, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"I wasn’t lying to you. My grandpa is very supportive of you."

Recalling Old Master Forrester’s enthusiasm tonight, Sienna sighed and said indecisively, "You let your family know too early, making it feel like things will get complicated."

Simon Forrester wasn’t concerned, "Besides my grandpa, no one else really knows. Everyone thinks my girlfriend is named Marilyn Thornton."

She thought again of the bickering at the Forrester’s earlier and couldn’t help but laugh, "Is it always this chaotic when your family argues?"

Simon also chuckled for a while, but he didn’t find it embarrassing. With thousands of families having varying dynamics, there were those who got along harmoniously and of course, families like the Forrester’s who enjoyed arguing.

"Firstly, my mom and my aunt don’t get along, and every time they sit at the same table, they argue. Furthermore, my mom and aunt don’t get along with me either, but they’re on good terms with my grandpa. If anyone dares to direct the conflict at me, my grandpa will stand up against them. So..."

Sienna laughed, "That’s really something."

Simon also laughed, "But I noticed you were quite calm tonight. With all the chaos, you didn’t react at all. You’re perfectly suited to marry into the Forrester family. Most girls can’t handle it, but someone with your mental fortitude and calm demeanor can survive in the Forrester household."

Sienna burst into laughter and explained, "It’s not that I’m mentally strong; I was just too bewildered to react."

At this point, the car turned into the apartment’s underground parking.

Simon suddenly fell silent.

When they got out of the car, he asked Sienna, "Did you prepare a gift for me?"

Sienna, holding his arm as they headed towards the elevator, replied, "No, I thought you didn’t care about gifts. Last year in Norport, your subordinates gave you a bunch, and didn’t you return all of them? And tonight, you didn’t take any of those gifts either."

Reaching the elevator, Simon raised his hand to press the button. As the elevator doors opened, he led Sienna inside, "I don’t look forward to their gifts, but I anticipate yours."

"Oh, I see. Then I’ll come up with a way to conjure up a gift for you later..."
