Watching the messenger knight carefully take out several wooden boxes from the storage ring, Kane Samikina stood up from his seat with keen interest, eager to know what surprises his brother had in store for him.

"My lord Patriarch, I apologize for the intrusion!" The knight said softly as he placed his hand on one of the box lids. Kane waved his hand to indicate that there was no need for formalities. The knight then lifted the lid, and a pungent odor mixed with a medicinal fragrance wafted out.

Kane took a handkerchief from the steward and moved closer to examine it. It was a head that had undergone preservation treatment, with disheveled hair and a twisted face. On closer inspection, it seemed to be someone he was familiar with, but he couldn't recall immediately and had to ask, "Who is this person?"

"To report, Patriarch, this is the head of the traitor Lelajin!"

"Who!" Kane sharply lifted his head upon hearing this. Without waiting for an answer, he bent over, disregarding the dirtiness, parted the disheveled hair, and endured the foul smell to examine it closely.

"Reporting to the lord, it is indeed the head of Lelajin!"

Yes, it was him! It truly was him! The traitor! Kane felt mixed emotions of joy and concern. He was delighted because rescuing the Star Lord and reclaiming lost land to quell the rebels was the foremost achievement since the war began. However, he was worried because he knew Lelajin's strength better than anyone else. Before defecting to the Disaster Legion, Lelajin had always competed with him in their cultivation journeys, keeping pace with each other until Kane broke through to a higher tier of the Demon Race, while Lelajin, seeing no hope in breaking through, chose betrayal to seek greater power.

With Fritz's strength, it was impossible to be Lelajin's match. The only hope for victory was a mutual destruction tactic. At this thought, Kane felt a pang of heartache and guilt. Since the messenger arrived, he had been focused on the news of victory and defeat and never asked about his brother and niece. Reflecting on this, he sat back in his seat and softly inquired, "Are my brother and Sifuer all right?"

"Lady Sifuer is well. As for Lord Fritz, he was still recuperating from excessive exhaustion when I left," the knight responded politely.

"You're saying Fritz is still alive, just injured?" Kane's eyes lit up with a hopeful gleam at these words.

"Yes, my lord Patriarch, Lord Fritz only needs prolonged rest to recover from his severe depletion."

Kane closed his eyes, nodded in relief, and gestured dismissively, saying, "Do you have the battle sequence recordings? Show them to me."

"Yes," the knight said, as he opened other boxes and took out the recordings, he explained, "Knowing the significance of this battle, Lady Sifuer deployed numerous personnel on each battlefield to record the events, including the blocking of the forces at the Kodwen legion. However," the knight shook his head regretfully, "the decisive battle between Shitang Longsi and Lelajin deep within Snow Peak Ridge wasn't recorded. From a distance, it was truly a magnificent sight..." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

"What are you saying? Was it that foreigner who annihilated Lelajin?" Kane interjected sharply upon catching the key issue from this statement.

"Yes!" The knight replied with a look of admiration and envy, "That lord destroyed two high-ranking members of the Disaster Legion with a wave of his hand, and then engaged in an epic battle with Lelajin, shaking the heavens and splitting the mountains, finally returning to the camp with Lelajin's corpse alone."

Hearing this, a cold sweat broke out on Kane's forehead. He asked no more, snatched the recording device from the knight, and drew the curtains to watch it himself.

A day and a night later, after watching the entire recording four times, Kane exhaled deeply, collapsed onto the sofa, and slowly closed his trembling eyes.

"Master, take a rest," Butler Bunian softly advised as he approached.

Kane waved his hand to indicate that it wasn't necessary, taking a damp towel from the butler while exclaiming, "I'm not tired at all now, quite the opposite! It's beyond my expectation, Sifuer! Fritz, they have made the right choice. The Samikina Clan's status will definitely soar with this victory."

Speaking of this, Kane propped himself up with the armrest and quickly walked to the window. Looking out at the spies still lurking around the estate, he sneered, "Bunian!"

"Here!"

"Go order my Guard Commander to capture those annoying pests around the estate, leave no one alive, execute them on the spot!"

Bunian was taken aback and said, "Master, please reconsider! Ever since we retreated to the Holy City, the Demon God has strictly prohibited private fights among the great families. Won't this anger him?"

Kane tossed the damp towel onto the tray in Bunian's hands with disdain, "Even if I storm Friedrich's family's door now, no one would say a word. The Demon God has always favored our direct families. It's because during the war, some family members proved useless and repeatedly embarrassed themselves that the Demon God had to rely on these emerging forces. Now, hmph!"

With a cold snort, Kane continued, "Those guys are always bragging about their achievements in the meetings. Now, let's see whose accomplishments can surpass our Samikina Clan. These vermin assumed that this battle would be our defeat and planned to topple us, they're not even trying to hide it. If I don't take this opportunity to counterattack, it would only make our Samikina Clan look weak and easily bullied. Tell Lucas to execute them on the spot, and if anyone interferes, they shall meet the same fate. Hang their heads high at the entrance of the estate!"

"Understood!"

"Wait!" Samikina called out, stopping Bunian as he was about to leave, and pointed at the recording device on the table. "Copy the contents of this recording to other devices and send them to the few Patriarchs I'm on good terms with. They'll know what to do at the assembly in three days. Also, edit the recordings and make more copies. Choose some handsome, loud-voiced guards to distribute them citywide. In three days' time, I want the entire Holy City to know about this great victory."

"Understood!"

"One more thing!" Samikina hesitated, cradling his chin before giving another order, "Highlight the footage involving Kodwen and my brother's participation, and emphasize the heroic demeanor of that girl commanding the battle. Also, promote this Shitang Longsi heavily, and discreetly spread rumors that he is the Demon God's illegitimate child. Be cautious and discreet, this task is yours personally."

"Master, is this appropriate? Didn't you say that this person couldn't possibly be from our Demon Race?" Bunian asked, slightly puzzled, with a frown.

Kane sighed deeply, came over to the table, and traced the recording device with his fingers, smiling wryly, "At this point, he either is or isn't, he has to be! To boost our Demon Race's morale, how can such a great achievement fall into the hands of a foreigner? The Demon God's romantic reputation is known throughout the Hell Realm. I doubt he'd mind having such a good son suddenly appear."
