Chapter 433: Chapter 433: Demon Race Methods (Seeking Subscription)

The self-destruction of two consecutive companions made the remaining Demon Race members present break out in a cold sweat. This invisible and shapeless technique that severely injures oneself when attacking undoubtedly placed immense psychological pressure on them. Yet, despite this, no one surrounding Pei Yan in the sky fled.

"Armor up! Engage in close combat! His bizarre technique won’t work then!" Someone in the crowd whispered fiercely.

With this reminder, Pei Yan noticed that many people suspended in the sky began to glow, and sets of armor he had seen in the banquet hall automatically draped over their bodies. Once fully equipped, they crystallized the armor’s surface for defense, making every armored Demon Race Knight resemble a mobile crystal fortress.

With roars of battle cries, the Demon Race members launched another fearless attack on Pei Yan. The light swords swept through, sparks flying everywhere. As expected, these Demon Race Knights with crystallized armor exhibited astonishing defense power, but the downside was that they could not perform the vaporizing technique once armored. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

Boom! Another black fireball exploded beside Pei Yan. Learning from previous lessons, the enemy now dared not ignite others around Pei Yan. They attacked within a hundred-meter radius, engaging Pei Yan with heavily armored knights while vaporized Demon Race members launched sporadic raids, with others continuing remote attacks from the periphery.

Ostensibly struggling, Pei Yan observed secretly and admitted that no civilization was foolish. Although these people did not understand his attacking methods, they quickly identified the problem’s crux and selected the more suitable tactics.

In response to the enemy’s intelligence and bravery, Pei Yan decided to show more of his true skills. In the next moment, another longsword appeared in his hand. Through several exchanges, he had already identified the weaknesses of these Demon Race Knights.

Byrd, a veteran soldier who survived battles against the Disaster Legion, had to retreat from his unit due to severe injuries, finding refuge behind enemy lines. Once healed, he should have gone to the Holy City to fulfill his duty as a Demon Race soldier, contributing his last strength for his world. But out of fear, in a seemingly hopeless battle, watching his comrades die one after another beside him, his ambitious spirit was ground down.

Once recovered, he dared not face the battles under the red sky, choosing to wallow in escapism within the refuge. Yet, even so, he held onto his pride! As a Knight owning inherited armor under a nobleman, he disdained aligning with someone like Raphael, who rose to power through chaos and murder. As a veteran, he held onto a last shred of dignity when facing young ones like Logan and Reya, who were eager to head to the Holy City to fight. During their stay in the refuge, he offered them the utmost help and meticulous guidance.

But such excellent young people had not yet dedicated their might to their beloved Demon God, had not died under the Holy City’s gates, but perished at the hands of some hick coming from nowhere.

A catastrophe brought by one hick invoking another, harshly humiliating the entire Demon Race here!

Clang! Sparks flew as Byrd’s heavy sword clashed with Pei Yan’s light sword, with shattered crystal fragments dancing in the air. He had started mastering the battle rhythm with Pei Yan. Indeed, the weapon in Pei Yan’s hands was sharp; each clash could easily disrupt the crystalline defense covering his longsword.

But he wasn’t like Scott, a rookie who, upon realizing it couldn’t be matched, would recklessly execute the crystalline body technique, full of weaknesses and short of subsequent strength. Battle-hardened, Byrd quickly pinpointed the light sword’s damage limits, aptly enhancing protection at contact points, achieving maximum defense at minimum cost.

This kind of combat continued until he saw another ordinary longsword forming in the enemy’s hand. Double-blade technique? Such flashy stuff made one die faster on Battlefields!

Though disdainful in his heart, Byrd wouldn’t make the mistake of underestimating the enemy. His longsword once again caught Pei Yan’s light sword, while the opponent’s other longsword thrust from below.

"Already saw through that! Fool!" Byrd scoffed while reinforcing crystal defenses on his abdomen, gripping his sword with both hands and hacking downward forcefully. Pei Yan’s attack stance, holding the sword single-handedly mid-air, exposed the greatest flaw—it couldn’t withstand force!

Crash! Crash! Bang! The crisp sound of shattering came from below, and Byrd lowered his gaze unbelievably. That dull, nondescript longsword surprisingly shattered his crystallized defense, pierced his armor, drawing near his scale-armored skin!

How is this possible! Without waiting for his reaction, he suddenly felt his hacked sword miss the mark, his body losing balance and tilting forward. Shutting off the light sword, Pei Yan dodged the strike, retreating the longsword, reactivating the light sword, stabbing it through the wound along the longsword’s path. A series of actions completed seamlessly in an instant.

Denying the opponent the chance for self-destruction, Pei Yan switched off the light sword again, kicked Byrd’s wound, sending him plummeting from mid-air, dead or alive, and turned to another enemy, repeating the process. Wielding the vibrational longsword, breaking through defenses, the light sword pierced the enemy’s body.

This was too easy for Pei Yan; these crystallized forms were almost the same. After Suzi’s analysis upon activating the domain, the vibration frequency was quickly discovered, once again reversing the battlefield situation.

Seeing Pei Yan harvest the lives of their heavy knights like a Death God, the Demon Race members, though unclear why their once-proud crystalline defenses became so fragile, understood that this combat approach could not continue. Swiftly, unarmored Demon Race members replaced the armored companions in close quarters.

The longsword sliced through the air once more; Pei Yan sighed under his mask. The vaporizing ability was indeed troublesome. He glanced at the ground again; Raphael’s group, now a tiny speck in his sight, seemed to have reached the town’s edge but halted there, unmoving. Why hadn’t he seized the opportunity to escape?

"Fighting while looking around—how dismissive!" A cold voice rang behind Pei Yan. Without turning, a metallic storm auto-activated from his back, unleashing a barrage of bullets.

No dull sound of bullets penetrating a body, Pei Yan realized the enemy had vaporized again; a shadow launched from the side. Instinctively, he swung his longsword to block, only to find the opponent catching his blade with bare hands. Pei Yan’s lips curled slightly, but in the next second, his smile froze.
