Chapter 791: 522. Leader

“Teacher, sometimes I really wonder if you’re truly a deity,”

Inside the church, feeling Teacher’s hand stroking her hair, Noah rolled her eyes. She found her teacher’s actions quite incomprehensible.

What kind of god teaches their disciple to rebel against themselves?

Ever since Teacher picked her up from a trash heap twenty years ago, Noah had intended to become Teacher’s most devout follower, swearing to spread the glory of the Lord of Glory across the world.

But the education she received from Teacher left Noah somewhat dumbfounded.

The religious primer she was taught was not the Church of Glory’s standard “Gospel,” but another scripture called “Genesis.”

The content of that book was utterly scandalous, preaching equality for all and the idea that man can overcome heaven. Although it was a scripture, the words within oozed disdain for deities. Noah looked from left to right and ultimately found only one notion in “Genesis”: the eternal glory of humanity.

There was never any savior, nor reliance on deities and Emperors. To live a good life, the only thing one could depend on was humans themselves.

To be honest, from the moment Noah laid eyes on the content of “Genesis,” she felt like it spoke directly to her heart.

After all, though she was the daughter of the previous Pope, she was merely an illegitimate child, and this status made her rebellious from the start.

She never liked those hypocritical nobles, and her father’s actions as the Pope had made her lose hope in faith from the very beginning. Her survival had depended entirely on her own efforts.

Yet, it wasn’t from heretics or pagans that she had received such subversive material, but rather, from the daughter of the Lord of Glory, the leader of the Emissaries of the Gods.

This was deeply troubling. What was Teacher thinking? Did she intend to turn Noah against her own mother, the Lord of Glory?

“Teacher, what exactly do you want to do? What is your purpose?”

Noah looked up at the teacher in front of her and asked seriously with furrowed brows.

Although all her knowledge was taught by Teacher, and everything she had was given by Teacher, if Teacher wanted her to die, she would not hesitate to draw her sword and end her own life immediately.

But now she wasn’t alone anymore. Over the years, she had gathered many like-minded followers from the lower echelons. Though she was officially the Pope of the Glory Sect, she was also secretly the leader of the Revolutionary Army on the Ark.

She was willing to die to repay Teacher’s kindness, but she was not willing to let her comrades become tools and pawns in Teacher’s hands because of her decisions.

In the past, since the plan was far from beginning, she endured and didn’t confront Teacher. But now, after having that noble pig slaughtered, the trumpet of rebellion had been sounded, and the Revolutionary Army was inevitably headed for a fierce battle with the old nobility.

As a leader, Noah had no way out. She had to make things clear with Teacher today.

Yes, it was time to settle matters with the Teacher.

Therefore, Noah watched her Teacher anxiously, awaiting her answer.

Sophia also felt the seriousness of this nominal disciple and withdrew her hand which had been stroking her hair, then shook her head.

“The only thing you have in common with me is the respect for your Teacher,”

the Pure White Angel said with such emotion.

Then she laid her cards on the table.

“Don’t worry, Noah, I don’t have any schemes against you weak mortals. If you must know my purpose, then I guess it was an experiment,”

Sophia answered as such.

“An experiment?”

Noah was taken aback. She had imagined many possible answers Teacher might give, but still, this one was beyond her expectations.

“Yes, an experiment. You should be able to tell that I couldn’t have written ‘Genesis.’ It was written by someone… someone very important to me. Those were her ideals, and I have always been distrustful of such naive ideals. That’s why I conducted this experiment,”

Sophia confessed truthfully.

This wasn’t something that needed to be hidden.

In the past five hundred years, she had completed all the arrangements she needed to make, and with extra time on her hands, the Pure White Angel decided to conduct this little experiment.

Although she considered her lady’s naive and somewhat unrealistic fantasies ridiculous, those same fantasies had ultimately materialized into the Mandate of Heaven Scripture “Genesis” before her eyes.

This was truly shocking and puzzling to Sophia.

Based on the practical spirit of having no right to speak without practice, and since she was idle anyway, Sophia conducted this experiment.

Of course, it was also because Noah, the best subject for the experiment, had just appeared before her.

She was just strolling through the city to relax, but then she suddenly found Noah, this child in a trash pile.

Sophia noticed this unusual little one at first glance because she vaguely saw a resemblance to her own lady in this child.
