One Night With A Mysterious Billionaire (The Heiress's Revenge)-Chapter 93: she won’t make it even if you survived
Liam moved silently across the bush floor, doing his best to avoid making any sound until he got close enough. He sneaked up from behind and slit one of the kidnappers’ throats, covering the man’s mouth so he wouldn’t make a sound. When he was sure the man had stopped struggling, he lowered him gently to the ground and continued moving forward.
He signaled to his other teammates, and they advanced cautiously with their guns in hand.
Soon, they reached a narrow path in the woods. Liam gestured for his team to split up and move in different directions, while he passed through the narrow path himself, already anticipating an ambush, and he was right.
The moment he crossed, bullets started flying everywhere.
Liam reacted instantly, diving beside a tree. He steadied his breathing, narrowing his eyes as he tried to pinpoint where the shots were coming from. One of his team members signaled to him, pointing toward the kidnappers’ position.
There were six of them.
Liam quickly devised a plan. He would distract them by engaging in a gunfight, while his team circled around to take them out from behind.
Without hesitation, he opened fire.
The kidnappers returned fire immediately, focusing all their attention on him, exactly as he intended. Within moments, his team moved into position and took them out one after the other.
Once it was clear, Liam stepped out from behind the tree. Without wasting time, they continued forward.
Not long after, they reached the end of the woods.
They quickly hid themselves and began observing their surroundings, and what they saw shocked them.
Before them stood a massive building, heavily guarded from all sides.
After carefully counting the guards and scanning the area, Liam radioed Raymond, relaying the coordinates of the building, telling him he had located their hideout. He also told him everything he saw along the way and how to get to where he was, and the rough number of kidnappers he thinks are in the hideout.
Raymond instructed him to stay put and wait for his arrival.
Damon, on the other hand, was having the time of his life.
His team had gone all out, killing everyone in their path. He had thrown caution to the wind, especially since he and Scarface were already in a silent competition, each trying to outperform the other and prove themselves as the better team leader.
"I said we should go the other way. We’ve been walking for some time now following your direction, and still we haven’t found Lena!" Damon said as they fought their way through another group.
The kidnappers stationed there had run out of ammunition and were forced to fight hand-to-hand.
Damon caught one man’s punch and delivered a brutal uppercut before finishing him off with his gun.
He glanced at Scarface with a smug look, as if to say he was already done.
Scarface, unfazed, dodged a kick from his opponent and used his twin knives to slice the man open cleanly.
"I don’t think that would be a good idea," Scarface replied coldly. "Remember, I’m not the one tracking. We have a tracker in our midst, and where he says we go is where we go. Unless you’ve suddenly become a tracker during the course of this mission, I don’t see why we should follow you."
Damon barely had time to respond before another wave of kidnappers arrived.
The battle resumed, fiercer than before.
Gunshots rang out as Damon fought relentlessly. At one point, he used the rope attached to his gun to wrap around a kidnapper’s neck, pulling him down forcefully. Planting his foot on the man’s back, Damon tightened the rope until the man stopped moving.
Damon stood up, breathing heavily, the same time Raymond’s call came in.
Raymond gave them the coordinates of the meeting point telling them everything that Liam told him.
Relief washed over Damon. He wanted nothing more than to end this and get back home.
Raymond, on the other hand, was not left out.
He had entered the woods after Liam and Damon’s teams, encountering a few kidnappers along the way, though they were not many.
He made his way steadily toward the designated meeting point.
*******
The head kidnapper, however, was far from pleased with the report he had just received.
"So you’re saying our men sent into the woods have not returned?" he asked the thug working closely with him. His voice was laced with anger.
"Yes, sir," the thug replied nervously. "Not only that, even the ones stationed in the woods have gone silent. They’re no longer responding to their radios."
"What?" he snapped. "Are you telling me we’ve lost over fifty men in the woods to Mr. Black and just ten of his men?"
The thug nodded silently.
Rage filled the room.
The leader stood up abruptly and walked to his cabinet, arming himself with guns and knives quickly
"Well, it doesn’t matter," he said coldly. "Even if he survives the woods, he won’t survive when he gets here. Have everyone prepare. This place will be our final stand, and we have the advantage."
A twisted laugh escaped his lips.
"He will die here."
Orders were quickly passed around.
Men took positions, and every kidnappers began to armed themselves and stationed themselves in a favourable position as they waited. Some hid behind cars, others positioned themselves on the balconies overlooking the woods, guns ready.
All of this was being watched.
Raymond and his crew, they had since arrived and had already regrouped at the edge of the woods, observing everything in silence.
They watched as the kidnappers prepared in paranoia.
Every single one of them knew who Mr. Black was.
Even though they hadn’t seen him in action since he left the game for awhile, fear was still evident on their faces.
Raymond, already irritated by how long the mission was taking, began issuing orders.
"Liam, you and your team will search the building," he said firmly. "Scarface, you and your team, including my team, will clear the outside and secure the path."
At the mention of Scarface leading, Scarface glanced at Damon, who simply rolled his eyes.
His eyes darkened.
"Make sure only one person is left alive. The rest, I want them dead."
He paused briefly.
"As for me... I need to find Darius. We have a score to settle."
"Darius? Wasn’t he declared dead after your fight with him?" Liam asked as he loaded his gun.
"That’s what we thought," Raymond replied coldly. "But apparently, he’s alive and well on this island, it is not that hard to believe anyway, remember we never found his body. It doesn’t matter anyway because it’s time to settle old and new scores once and for all."
Without another word, Raymond pulled out two knives and a grenade. He removed the pin and tossed it into the yard where the kidnappers were waiting.
"Grenade!" one of them shouted. "Take cover!"
But it was too late.
The explosion erupted, smoke filling the air.
Raymond and his team moved immediately.
Gunfire echoed as both sides clashed with everything they had. Raymond moved like a shadow, fast, precise, deadly, cutting down anyone in his path with ruthless efficiency.
"I thought you would never come."
The voice cut through the chaos.
Raymond froze for a split second. He would recognize that voice anywhere even with his eyes closed
He snapped the neck of the kidnapper he was holding and let the body drop before turning slowly.
"And miss the chance to kill you twice?" Raymond said coldly. "I would never pass on that opportunity."
His eyes locked onto the man.
"Darius."
A smirk formed on Raymond’s lips.
"With that scar of yours, you’ve somehow managed to become even uglier than the last time I saw you."
Darius’s expression darkened as he drew his knives.
"Let’s see how you look when I’m done with you," Darius spat. Then he grinned wickedly. "Oh, and one more thing, I left your bitch in a pool of her own blood for the past two hours."
He laughed menacingly.
"By the time we’re done here, she’ll be dead. Even if you survive today... you’ll still lose her."
Something inside Raymond snapped.
His blood turned cold, his eyes became bloodshot
A dangerous calm took over him.
Before Darius could react, Raymond charged towards him, moving faster than even he thought possible.
He dodged Darius’s first strike and slashed his stomach open, in precision.
Darius staggered but didn’t stop. He countered, managing to cut Raymond across the shoulder.
But Raymond didn’t slow down.
He disappeared from Darius’s line of sight and reappeared behind him, his blade slicing cleanly across Darius’s neck.
It happened too fast.
Darius dropped to his knees, clutching his throat as blood poured out. A strange, triumphant smile still lingered on his face even as he was dying
"You... will never make it in time..." he gurgled. "This... is my gift , a payback for what you did..."
He couldn’t complete his statement before
His body went still, eyes wide open.
Raymond didn’t wait.
He turned and sprinted toward the building, his mind consumed by one name, and one person
Lena.
For the first time since his mother’s death, Raymond prayed.
He prayed that he wasn’t too late.
He prayed that Lena was still alive.
As he sprinted through the hallway, the fight raged on, he charged through the ones that came out at him like a madman, his gun shooting anyone on his path, some he cut down with his knives.
