Chapter 827: Chapter 827: The Deal

Sebastian Blackwood paused his actions slightly; it was a call from Owen Rhodes.

He accepted the call in front of Ivy Kensington, but didn’t put it on speaker. Owen said on the other end of the line, "Master Blackwood, I’ve found information on that kidnapper. He’s a gambler who recently racked up massive debts, but now he’s already paid off half of it."

"Moreover, after today’s incident, Evan Lowell’s people said they were going to take him to the police station to file a report, but no station in Veridia has received any such report."

Owen’s words evidently confirmed Sebastian Blackwood’s suspicions. Today’s so-called kidnapper hostage drama was indeed orchestrated by Evan Lowell himself to garner Ivy Kensington’s sympathy and thereby draw the two closer.

He chuckled and instructed, "Don’t startle the snake these two days. Keep an eye on him and wait until he racks up his debts again before making a move."

A gambler like him won’t stop easily; this time, Evan Lowell helped him clear his debts.

It won’t be long before he gambles again, and the result, as usual, will be loss after loss, inevitably leading to more debts.

At that point, sending Owen in will pry open even the tightest of lips.

Evan Lowell’s grand show can only end in miserable defeat.

"Yes, Master Blackwood, I understand."

The call was then promptly disconnected.

While silently treating his wound, Ivy Kensington listened to the entirety of his phone call.

Although unable to clearly hear what was said on the other end, she could entirely discern from Sebastian’s tone that this man was certainly calculating against someone again. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

She pressed her lips tightly, realizing once more that when it came to scheming games, she was indeed no match for Sebastian Blackwood.

This man’s cunning ran too deep.

"The wound is treated."

Tossing the used cotton swabs and gauze into the trash, Ivy continued, "You promised yourself, let me see Ronnie tomorrow, and you can’t back out."

"Hmm."

Sebastian responded nonchalantly; this ruthless woman had conveniently forgotten him, yet her daughter was constantly on her mind.

For a moment, he felt a twinge of envy towards Ronnie.

"Let me off up ahead."

At that moment, Ivy looked out the car window and said, but Sebastian spoke up, "Give me your contact information."

What?

Ivy immediately looked at him warily. Why did he need her contact information?

Sebastian replied calmly, "Otherwise, how will I notify you to come tomorrow."

That made sense.

After the car accident, Ivy indeed got a new phone with few contacts in it. To see Ronnie, she had no choice but to give her number to Sebastian.

Sebastian’s memory was incredibly sharp; she only said it once, and he remembered it completely without needing to store it in his phone.

"Get out here."

He had the driver stop the car.

Ivy unhesitatingly pushed open the car door and walked off without looking back.

Once she left, the driver asked, "Master Blackwood, should we head to the Group now?"

The Blackwood Group had been without him for two months, and with Owen as his assistant, who hadn’t shown up with him either, anxiety was high. That dummy Arthur Blackwood had taken the opportunity to mess things up, achieving nothing and leaving the place in chaos.

If this continues, the Blackwood Group is bound to face a miserable defeat in the era’s transition.

Pressing his brow, Sebastian looked at the bandaged wound on his hand, tied with a little bow, and chuckled slightly.

He said lazily, "Let’s go play with those old folks."

Surely the news of his ’resurrection’ had reached everyone’s ears by now.

Just in time to see which among them was the most panicked and guilty.

At this moment, at the Blackwood Group.
