One-Eyed Monster-Chapter 759 - 756: Kadi’s Role is Very Very Big
Stan Sol's stuttering naturally grabbed everyone's attention, as his condition was unexpected to many.
His unclear expressions and desperate attempts to communicate would make anyone stop and watch. People instinctively feel sympathy; they naturally pity those with impairments and would wonder what this inarticulate person was trying to do.
Stan Sol was now that pitied person, but fortunately, he had Igor. The boy quickly understood his intentions, displaying a more natural reaction than the pity shown by others.
"Alright, I understand." Igor understood Stan Sol's intentions but had to keep his voice low. The Great Mentor was busy drawing Spirit Power, and they had to avoid attracting his attention, as they had no way to deal with him.
They were capable fighters but had no way to utilize their talents, all because the Great Mentor's Fog Elixir had permeated their bodies.
The current situation on the mountain was somewhat awkward.
The Great Mentor was engrossed in maintaining his Spirit Defense while drawing Spirit Power, readying for his final attack. The Alchemy Workshop showed no intention of retaliating and also formed a defensive formation. Descending the mountain wouldn't be easy; they first had to withstand the Great Mentor's impending attack. The only ones left were Igor and the creatures of Guru Mountain, who were still paralyzed by the Great Mentor's Fog Elixir. Unable to move, any desire for action was futile.
Among them, Estev suffered the most. He was initially an outsider but had been dragged into the turmoil by a strange twist of fate. He trusted the Great Mentor but ultimately fell victim to the Fog Elixir, leaving him immobilized.
The only ones who could still move were Kadi and the Witch Spirit, Kuruto. However, Kuruto had been silent for a while. Since its master wasn't present, it dared not be too audacious. Even if it could act, it, like Kadi, couldn't accomplish anything.
Igor glanced at Kadi, and Kadi returned the glance. It seemed as if they instantly understood each other's meaning.
Kadi trotted over to Igor. He had hopped and jumped around earlier to prove he could move, almost climbing a tree in the process...
Luckily, the Great Mentor wasn't paying much attention to Kadi, despite his many past antics.
Igor whispered discreetly in Kadi's ear for a moment; his voice was so low that no one could hear what they said.
Kadi nodded repeatedly, as if to say, "I understand, I understand." Judging by his expression, he was brimming with confidence.
After a moment of whispering, Kadi patted his own chest, signaling to Igor his confidence in completing the task, then tiptoed towards Stan Sol.
He didn't actually need to tiptoe, but Kadi did so to emphasize his caution. Such unnecessary displays could sometimes cause trouble, but Kadi's "caution" was harmless this time. Apart from providing a bit of comic relief for the others, it had no other effect, at least for the moment, as it didn't attract the Great Mentor's attention.
Stan Sol couldn't move, but he could still release Spirit Power; the Great Mentor's Fog Elixir had not managed to block this.
The Fog Elixir wasn't omnipotent. Aside from paralyzing physical movement, it had no other effects. The Fog Elixir couldn't stop people from speaking, nor could it prevent them from releasing Spirit Power.
The problem, however, was that most mystical arts required physical actions to execute. If one's body was immobile, these arts could not be performed. Even Wizards, who had the least requirement for Physique Technique, still needed to put effort into their Physique Technique. This was because a Wizard's incantations and Alchemy's Alchemy Equations shared a remarkably similar working principle: both required the Wizard to meticulously list the items being exchanged. Therefore, when a person's body was immobilized, even if they could speak aloud, their methods of counterattack became extremely limited, leaving them virtually defenseless against an opponent's offense.
Perhaps those who used Soundwave Attacks were slightly better off. However, launching soundwaves also demanded arm movements, which again involved Physique Technique. Physique Technique might not seem particularly conspicuous, but its importance became evident in truly critical moments.
Stan Sol, however, was an ancient Hunter. His family lineage possessed some peculiar skills that could, at times, overcome such barriers.
For example, when completely immobilized, one could use verbal commands to control their Battle Pets or direct their prey.
This was where ancient Hunters differed from modern ones. Modern Hunters focused solely on results and had no particular advantages in Beast Training. They regarded hunting as a primitive pursuit and no longer bothered with these ancient skills.
At this moment, however, it was precisely such an ancient skill that could prove useful...
Kadi's unique ability was to form a spiritual connection with anyone—a Spirit Power link. This had been amply demonstrated in the previous battle, and Kadi was now once again showcasing this unique talent. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Although his perception of Spirit Power was dull, his body could effortlessly establish an Ant Connection Spell with others, allowing him to share their perspectives and feelings...
Upon completing the Ant Connection Spell with Stan Sol, Kadi shivered. Although he knew this method created a pseudo-Inner World, it effectively served as a means of communication.
Soon, Kadi understood Stan Sol's intentions.
"I understand. I'll do as you say." Through the Ant Connection Spell, Kadi could now convey his thoughts telepathically.
Stan Sol could likewise transmit his thoughts.
"I will infuse my Spirit Power into you. Your unique constitution can retain my Spirit Power, which will allow my Battle Pets to obey your commands. And you've learned those few whistle calls I taught you just now, haven't you? They are very important."
"Yes, I've learned them. I know, if your pets don't obey me or show hostility, I just need to use those whistles to calm them, right?"
"Yes. With that, I wish you good luck!"
Although the Ant Connection Spell didn't last long, Stan Sol and Kadi had exchanged a significant amount of information. During this period, Kadi learned what he needed to do.
Carrying Stan Sol's blessings and instructions, Kadi straightened his posture. Time was short; he had to focus entirely on completing this task.
Kadi was full of confidence. To reassure the others, he made a clenched fist gesture, a sign for them to believe in him.
He wanted to use his actions to show everyone on Guru Mountain that he, Kadi, was someone who could be useful in any situation—and a very important one at that!
