Omega's Rebirth-Chapter 643: Here Again ()
’Did you forget me, Omega...?’ A familiar voice hissed lowly by Neveah’s ears.
The voice sounded so close, so horrifyingly close that Neveah could feel his breath on the side of her face, and her senses were invaded with his scent, a scent Neveah thought she had forgotten, but in this moment, it was suddenly so vivid.
That voice was one Neveah wished she could forget, never to cross her memories or intertwine with her existence again, but here it was again...
And try as Neveah might, she could not prevent the chill of terror that ran down her spine or the terror that gripped her heart.
Even when Neveah knew she was not the same person as she used to be, even when she knew she was no longer one that could be a victim or prey to anyone,
Even then, that chilling terror was overwhelming, like the cold hands of death crept up on her once again, slowly but surely, and it came along with him...he was her death.
’Alessio...’ Neveah murmured quietly, her tone filled with dread.
’Mine!...’ Came the response in a low, deadly growl.
The tone was so intensely possessive, laying a claim he had no rights to, a claim that did not sit well with Neveah, nor her wolf.
There were only two voices Neveah was willing to hear that word from.
’You wish.’ Neveah replied, her tone calm and collected despite her internal conflict.
’Did you truly believe severing our mate bond would be enough to get rid of me? Did you think I would let you be with another? Never... I will never let go of you.’
’Have I not said it? I will come for you...’ The voice vowed solemnly.
Neveah’s heart trembled within her but she steeled herself, finally turning around to face the voice head on.
Behind her was nothing but darkness, save for a glowing pair of forest green orbs.
’Come then...see how close you can get to me before you are reduced to ash.’ Neveah said, just as her consciousness was tugged back away from the darkness and those haunting eyes.

Neveah’s eyes fluttered open, her gaze moved to the side of her bed where Everon sat, staring expectantly at her.
Neveah did not need to look over, she could sense Menarx’s presence somewhere in the room too.
Unconsciously, Neveah took note of the fact that she could now drift off to sleep so easily in the presence of those she had come to trust, a feat that had been almost impossible with how wary of everything she had been a few years back.
Having people one could trust was a blessing, Neveah realized. It provided one a confidence that nothing else could, even when faced against her greatest fears.
Neveah could read the question in Everon’s gaze but she waited for him to voice it out.
"How is it then? Did you meet Jian?" Everon asked eagerly.
Neveah breathed a sigh, her eyes going closed once again as she slowly settled her rapidly beating heart, forcing away the terror left behind from her nightmare.
How much of it was a message and how much of it was just a nightmare, Neveah was not certain.
It did not seem possible for Alessio to reach her without their bond, so how come he still plagued her dreams? Was it just her mind playing games? Was it a side effect of dream walking? Neveah did not know.
However, in the past two days, she had met those forest green orbs in her dreams and each encounter was different from the other.
At first, it just stared, so intensely and filled with rage and obsession. This was the first time it had been accompanied by a voice...his voice.
"Veah?" Everon asked Neveah when she did not react or respond.
Neveah then slowly shook her head in response to Everon’s question.
"It has been two days since the water source. If Our Liege asked you to return to him when you are healed, why do your dreams no longer merge? Do you think something might have happened to Jian?" Everon asked worriedly.
"Two days here might be merely a few hours or even less in that dimension, from what Veah has told us. And Jian would be busy seeking out Xenon..."
"Dream walking may also have limitations we are not aware of...we should give it time." Menarx considered.
"I told you I have been unsuccessful in these two days but you still insisted on me trying again before we depart Scabbard, can we now agree to let it happen naturally?" Neveah asked Everon in a blank tone.
Everon was taken aback by Neveah’s tone.
"Did something happen...? You sound... unlike yourself." Everon asked Neveah uncertainly.
Menarx also glanced over at Neveah, his gaze curious.
"I just... with Xenon and everything, I am constantly on edge." Neveah admitted.
Truly, Neveah had not been herself since she heard Xenon’s whereabouts or situation was unknown and it was even more frustrating that there was nothing she could do at this time but aid Jian in the best way she could.
Everon breathed a sigh, nodding his head in agreement.
"I know how worried you are for him, but Jian says he is definitely unharmed and Menarx agrees...we can only trust in the bond they share and trust that Jian can reach him, wherever he is." Everon reassured Neveah.
"Yet, I worry..." Neveah murmured, sitting up to lean against the headboard.
"You love him, that cannot be helped." Everon replied with a small smile, despite the situation.
"It cannot be." Neveah sighed quietly, getting off the bed, she grabbed her outer robe.
"Let us go then. We have delayed enough." Neveah said to Everon.
Everon nodded and he and Menarx followed after Neveah as they headed to the drawing room or the Scabbard Tower.
Lord Mycroft already awaited them along with Dante and Estelle.
"The portal to Dragon Keep?" Neveah asked.
"It is ready and approved by Lord Kirgan." Dante confirmed.
"Open it." Neveah said.
