Chapter 532: A Reminder (Ch.533)

The sound of the doors to the meeting hall being shut, were much louder to Neveah’s ears than they should have been.

They were not just closed doors, but Neveah’s only hope of escape slamming shut right before her eyes and there was nothing she could do about it.

"What... can I do for you... Your Grace?" Neveah stuttered out.

"A lot..." Xenon replied in King Jian’s place.

Neveah stared warily between Xenon and King Jian, especially considering that Xenon’s hand was still right where it had been.

King Jian passed a look to Neveah, but he did not say a word. Neveah also was not opportune to enquire because Xenon did not allow for it.

A yelp of surprise escaped Neveah as she was lifted off her chair, right into Xenon’s arms.

How he had moved so quickly, Neveah could not tell, but in the blink of an eye, she found herself straddling Xenon while he stared at her with a darkened gaze.

He leaned forwards, the tip of his nose brushing lightly over the exposed skin of Neveah’s neck, down to as much skin as her vest allowed to be on display.

Neveah shuddered visibly, unable to prevent her heart from beating erratically in response to Xenon’s close contact.

"Xenon... this...is a public place..." Neveah stuttered out, glancing over at the door warily.

"And what of it?" Xenon mumbled, his voice muffled by Neveah’s skin.

Neveah sucked in a sharp breath when Xenon’s tongue darted out, grazing slowly over her skin.

There was a low and quiet rumble sounding in his throat, the kind one would make at the prospect of a delectable meal.

"This... you can’t... it’s not right..." Neveah reasoned,

Though Neveah herself knew there was hardly any hope for Xenon to be reasoned with.

"It was not right for you to leave us hanging yesterday, but you still did." Xenon countered, completely adamant.

Neveah turned to King Jian for help, and Xenon did not prevent her, yet his tongue still flicked out to taste Neveah’s skin.

King Jian was seated on his chair, leaned back and watching in silence, his eyes visibly darkened in desire.

Neveah cursed her sensitive senses that could pick up on the scent of both men’s arousal, entirely different but each completely intoxicating.

She had hoped to seek help from the more reasonable King Jian, but the scent of his arousal was so enticing, it only fueled hers, try as she might to ignore it.

"Your Grace..." Neveah still tried to reason,

"Do not call me that." King Jian corrected, his already deep baritone now a low, guttural growl.

Neveah gulped audibly, it was not difficult to tell that King Jian had no intentions of being of help to her and his next words further confirmed it.

"I could not sleep...all night. Now, it is an affliction I am accustomed to...but last night, what afflicted me was entirely different..." King Jian said, his gaze holding Neveah’s captive.

"And yet, you did not have any trouble sleeping whatsoever. Hence I had to rethink my decision...to let you be,"

" I fear if I do so...you might truly convince yourself to forget... that regardless of if you favor it or not, you belong to us... you can only belong to us and there is no other path." King Jian made clear.

Neveah’s heart trembled within her, the sheer dominance in King Jian’s voice was so potent, Neveah could practically feel it like a weight over her shoulder.

"It...it has only been a day... I never said I would... refuse you... I just..." Neveah tried to explain her position.

Neveah did not get her words out completely, Xenon claimed Neveah’s lips, cutting off whatever else she had to say.

Neveah did not resist Xenon’s kiss, there were many things she was more than capable of doing but that was not one of them.

Xenon got up to his feet with Neveah still held in his arms, he did not pull away either, not until he placed Neveah down in King Jian’s arms.

King Jian’s right arm moved to Neveah’s waist and Neveah could feel the evidence of his desire beneath her.

Crouching down to a knee, Xenon pulled away, finally allowing Neveah a moment to consider her present position.

"My advice would be not to move, Neveah." King Jian warned Neveah before she could adjust.

Neveah froze in place, a shiver running down her spine as King Jian’s breath fanned over her neck.

Just like Xenon had done, King Jian buried his head into Neveah’s neck, inhaling deeply.

"A day without you Veah is a torment, my predator is constantly at unrest... irritable. My heart is clenched in a tight knot that just won’t ease and all I can think about is you, constantly... non stop."

"A day without us...it is easily endured for you, but it is not the same for us...do you not understand? How much it hurts to see that you are not as affected by our bond as we are?" King Jian murmured to Neveah.

Neveah bit down on her lip, guilt settling in her heart. She had heard of the effect a true bond had on a dragon,

She had witnessed it with Imagor and Kaliana, she had seen it in her father’s eyes when he spoke of her mother,

Neveah had even witnessed it in Menarx and Adrienne, as difficult as it had been to accept.

But she had not fully considered King Jian’s and Xenon’s position, especially when both bonds were newly formed.

"I... I’m sorry." Neveah apologized sincerely.

"Not good enough." King Jian murmured, still nuzzled into Neveah’s neck.

"What... what do you want then?" Neveah asked apprehensively.

"A reminder...of who you belong to." Xenon responded this time.

Neveah did not get another word out, King Jian joined their lips, his kiss deep and passionate, silencing every protest Neveah may have had.

Xenon’s hands made quick work of Neveah’s boots, and then the belt holding Neveah’s breeches in place, Neveah’s breeches followed soon after.
