Omega's Rebirth-Chapter 370: Aftermath ()
"Stupid bitch!" Celeste hissed in rage as she arrived at the clearing where the girl had lost conscious.
The girl was still so adamant even knowing she stood no chance against Celeste and this kind of conviction was what Celeste loathed the most.
This blind loyalty irked Celeste, it reminded her too much of her ownself in the past.
A time when she was young, foolish and ignorant of the realities of the world.
This folly had led to Celeste’s greatest pains, how could she bear to be reminded of it?
"Death would be granting you mercy." Celeste murmured to herself as she walked towards the unconscious girl, a malicious glint in her eyes.
However, Celeste was cut off guard when a burst of magical energy slammed into her, tossing her off her feet.
Celeste crashed into a tree, a hiss of pain escaped her. Celeste was quick to jump to her feet, her body poised to attack as she summoned her magic.
"There, there... Celeste." A familiar voice said.
Celeste’s brow furrowed into a deep frown when Azkar stepped out from the cover of trees.
"Azkar, what are you doing here?" Celeste asked with an annoyed hiss.
"You came out to play, I thought I might watch the entertainments. Though it seems I have arrived late, your subordinates will be annihilated in just a moment." Azkar murmured.
"This matter has nothing to do with you, Azkar. You have no business getting involved." Celeste warned.
Azkar ignored Celeste’s warning and strode over to the unconscious girl, crouching down slightly.
"Do not dream of snatching it!" Celeste snarled, her magic lashing out.
Dozens of shadow vines shot at Azkar, cutting through the air sharply.
Azkar waved a hand and all the vines immediately dispersed far before they could reach him.
"You had better think twice before provoking me Celeste, I have no problem doing away with you." Azkar warned, his deadly gaze lifting to settle on Celeste.
Azkar reached for the oak wood box held closely to the girl’s chest and pulled it away from her.
It took a measured amount of force, even while unconscious, she held it tightly but of course, Azkar was stronger.
Azkar studied the box for a moment before tossing it over to Celeste.
"You know what I find silly? It is how you believe I am as petty as you to undermine you and deliver the box myself...how laughable." Azkar murmured.
"You have made quite the fool of yourself today, at least there is a result to it. You should head back now and begin considering how you shall compensate me for the troll golem." Azkar added.
Celeste frowned slightly, from Azkar’s words, she understood there was no saving the troll golem. That weapon of theirs would be lost this time.
"The girl is still alive." Celeste pointed out.
"You should leave while I am still being generous." Azkar replied, passing Celeste a glare.
Celeste huffed, turning around, she disappeared into the forest.
Azkar grunted beneath his breath as his gaze moved back to settle on the girl.
"Look how tightly you hold what you have no knowledge of,"
"This little wolf, if you wish to protect something else, shouldn’t you first know to protect your own self?" Azkar murmured, shaking his head slightly.
Azkar took her injured wrist into his hand, unwrapping the injury, he examined it.
Azkar sensed the strand of dark magical energy from the troll golem, it was easy to recognize it since the dark magical energy of the troll golem was Azkar’s own magic.
"You have something of mine in you..." Azkar murmured quietly as he retrieved the strand of magical energy and watched as the wound slowly healed up.
The healing process was still slow, but Azkar knew the girl would be fine in a few days.
"I have saved you once again, this is to compensate for sending you out into this danger." Azkar said as he got up to his feet.
"Till we meet again." Azkar finished, also taking his leave.

The first streaks of sunlight shone through the dark clouds, quickly banishing away the darkness that had consumed the forest.
The sun was already high in the sky, it was late morning now and as the fog and shadows cleared, the forest was soon basking in the warmth of the sunlight.
That haunting tone was no longer heard, neither were the earth quaking roars and sounds of the fierce battle, all that rested over the forest was silence.
Not just any silence but a solemn silence, the forest bearing witness to the aftermath of the battle that had unfolded within its depths.
The air hung heavy with a sense of melancholy, and that horrid stench had not faded.
Pitch black blood dyed the forest floor, splattered over tree trunks and fallen logs.
There were dozens of fallen trees, and the lush greenery of the forest was left with withered leaves, their life drained from them by the blood of the troll golem and the touch of dark magic.
But that was not all, dismembered limbs of the monstrous creature, boulders of bloodied ice, large craters and charred marks were everywhere.
For a far distance beyond where the battle had been fought, there was nothing left living, nothing left in one piece.
Jian stood in the midst of it all, his features were set in his characteristic blank expression, but there was a melancholic look in his eyes.
With his quiet gaze, Jian mourned the devastation that had befallen this forest and nature mourned along with him.
"My Liege, reports are pouring in, the threats across the forest have been completely neutralised."
"Kaideon and Rodvan have arrived. Decaron will be here soon along with Dante, Estelle and Eidon." Cassian said from behind, drawing Jian out of his thoughts.
"Your arm?" Jian asked.
"Just a scratch, I am fine." Cassian assured.
Jian breathed a sigh as he passed one last look to the devastation before his eyes.
"Let us return now." Jian murmured as he turned away and walked on ahead.
Jian could feel the surge in the temperature as Menarx rained down a torrent of flames from up in the sky, razing every evidence of the battle into nothingness.
