Omega's Rebirth-Chapter 180: A Heiress’s Heart ()
~Fort Blazed: 10th Fortress of the Asvarian Stronghold~
The sun had just begun to set beneath the horizon, making its descent in the usual slow manner right above Fort Blazed and it’s prosperous city.
The city was bustling just as it always was, Fort Blazed was a center of business and commerce where diverse races met to exchange treasures and precious goods.
Amongst the twelve fortresses of the Asvarian stronghold, Fort Blazed was considered one of the most busy cities, coming up third after the citadel of Keep Skies.
It was also the central point where the trade routes leading into and out of the Asvarian stronghold would always meet, as such the third Asvarian Beacon stood mightily at Fort Blazed.
Along with its light hall, serving as an impregnable line of defence to protect the trade routes and food supply that would circulate round the entire stronghold.
Other than the Asvarian Beacon, there was still another imposing structure in Fort Blazed,
It was a mighty castle, not nearly as imposing as Dragon Keep but just as prestigious as the Dune Castle of the white dunes.
The towering blazed castle housed the blazed dragons that protected and secured Fort Blazed for centuries since the Asvarian stronghold stood.
At this time, there were only a few massive shadows that could be spotted from a distance circling Fort Blazed up in the skies.
The flight patrol had not returned to the castle just yet, they would only make their return just before the crack of dawn when the second batch of flight patrol were ready to take flight.
Within the halls of the Blazed Castle, while the dragon guards and attendants went about their respective duties,
There was one person who was unaffected by all the bustle of the castle, humming quietly to herself in the comfort of her quarters.
Estelle stood before her dressing mirror, holding up a beautiful yellow dress close to her figure.
The dress was exquisitely made with numerous flowers embroidered all around the hem with silver threads.
There was a dreamy look in Estelle’s eyes and a ghost of a smile on her lips.
With the dress held close to her form, she twirled slightly, her smile widening as the hem of the dress swished along with her movement.
The fabric of the dress was light and airy, it was truly beautiful and Estelle had ordered to have it made especially for today.
"Would he like it? He always said I looked beautiful in yellow..." Estelle wondered aloud.
Whenever she heard these words, Estelle vividly recalled how her heart would flutter and a blush coloured her cheeks at the memory of it.
The dress truly was beautiful, it was only that Estelle would not get to wear it immediately and so she could only admire it in this manner till it was time to proudly wear the dress and show it off.
Estelle sighed wistfully as she neatly folded the dress up so it would not form creases and then she placed it away carefully.
Estelle did not need anyone telling her just how expensive the dress itself was, the seamstress of Blazed castle had made the dress with much attention to detail on Estelle’s request.
A request Estelle had made in secret so her father would not catch wind of it.
"Well, it does not truly matter the cost of the dress, father could still afford it." Estelle murmured to herself with a casual shrug.
Estelle’s father was after all the Blazed Lord, custodian of the lordship title of Fort Blazed, the tenth of the twelve great fortresses of the Asvarian stronghold.
Furthermore, Estelle was the sole child of the Blazed Lord and as a female born to a dragon lord, she was the Blazed Lord’s most cherished daughter.
On Estelle’s words, there was truly no one within the castle who could dare refuse her, but even then, it was necessary for Estelle to be extremely cautious with her actions.
Why exactly? It was because Estelle had done something her father would never approve of, she had fallen for a human...a human of no Asvarian heritage.
Estelle walked over to her window, staring out of it, down into the gardens.
At this time, Estelle knew he would be passing by here... Jason, the stable hand to all, but to Estelle, he was the one that made her heart flutter.
Estelle peered out the window and just as she thought, Jason walked through the courtyard, leading one of her father’s horses back to the stables after a short time of grazing in the back fields.
With his rusty brown hair and freckled face, Estelle had never seen anyone that was quite as endearing as Jason was and a smile settled on her lips when he stopped and glanced up.
Estelle’s eyes met his for a moment and her heart skipped a beat, it was not the first time they would set eyes on each other but Estelle found she always got the same feeling she had when she first met him.
That childlike giddiness, it was so strange to Estelle yet it was a feeling she could not help.
Estelle lifted her hand in a little wave and Jason waved back, a large smile lighting up his face. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
They did not exchange any words, it was difficult to express the feelings they shared openly with so many eyes around in the castle.
But Estelle did not mind it, she was content to just watch him carry out his duties when she could.
And when the sun had set and the day was done, Jason would retire to his quarters and then Estelle would go to him.
It had already been an entire summer since they had both expressed their feelings to one another and today would mark it an exact summer.
Estelle was eager to see Jason and it was for an important reason,
Upon her father’s return to the castle, Estelle would tell him that she had found the one she would spend the rest of her life with.
