Omega's Rebirth-Chapter 163: A Silhouette ()
A thick white mist seeped out of the forest ahead, so thick that it completely hid the forest from view and crawled closer and closer to the edge of the cliff where Neveah stood.
’What is this... what is going on?’ Neveah thought, her eyes narrowed suspiciously.
’Magic...be cautious Veah.’ Neveah’s wolf thought back to her in a grim tone.
One moment, Neveah could still see the two fairies but the next moment, they had disappeared from view, swallowed up by the thick white mist.
The last Neveah saw of them was the sinister smile on their lips and the malicious glint in their eyes and the final words of the male fairy echoed all around Neveah.
"You are strong... this is true. But how strong can you be when your greatest fears... come to live?" The male fairy had said and these words rang over and over again as they disappeared from view.
When the mist swallowed up both fairies, it began to crawl closer to Neveah.
Neveah took a step back, glancing behind her to find she was already at the very edge of the cliff.
If Neveah retreated any further, she would go tumbling off the cliff edge to meet certain death.
The crashing sounds of the waves far below still echoed in Neveah’s ears, the sounds alone told of how strong the currents were.
Neveah would never be able to fight such currents, she just could not risk that fall. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Yet the mist approached closer and closer and Neveah’s eyes fluttered closed as it engulfed all around her and she felt herself pulled forward forcefully, falling straight into it’s midst.
A loud ringing sound pierced through Neveah’s eyes and her hands shot up to cover her ears as she the white mist tossed her about.
When the ringing sound faded, Neveah could finally let go of her ears and her eyes slowly fluttered open.
For a moment, all she could see was the white mist swirling all around her, and strange whispers, haunting whooshing and murmurings sounded from everywhere as though the mist itself made the sounds.
The sounds itself were terrifying and Neveah sucked in a deep breath to ease her heart.
Neveah glanced around, but it was to no avail. She could barely see an inch ahead of herself.
"What manner of sorcery is this..." Neveah murmured in a wary tone.
Neveah could not understand what was happening, she was not familiar with the workings of magic,
But if there was one thing Neveah knew for sure, it was the fact that at this very moment, she was in grave danger.
Her instincts screamed of it, and Neveah knew she had to find her way out of the mist if she was to stand a chance of survival.
’Listen for a sound. Filter out the murmurs from the mist and listen closer...’ Neveah’s wolf guided her.
Neveah followed her wolf’s direction immediately, her eyes fluttering closed.
Neveah blocked off all her other senses and just focused on the sounds she could hear all around her.
The whispers and murmurs that came from the mist itself clouded Neveah’s hearing but she filtered through it, focusing on picking up any other sound that could provide her with a direction.
And then, Neveah caught a sound. It was barely audible, but it was different from the haunting sounds echoing all around Neveah.
It sounded like a distant breaths, and Neveah’s eyes snapped open.
"Someone is here... Wherever here is..." Neveah murmured to herself.
Wasting no time, Neveah quickly followed the sound of breathing, letting her hearing guide her through the mist.
The mist was freezing cold and Neveah wrapped her arms around herself as she moved slowly but cautiously.
It took a short time, but soon, the mist began to fade off and Neveah squinted slightly as she spotted a silhouette standing in the distance.
The silhouette was that of a well built man, with pitch black hair and a sense of familiarity stirred in Neveah’s heart.
"Xenon?" Neveah murmured to herself as she quickened her pace.
The only person with pitch black hair who could trigger such an intense feeling of familiarity from Neveah, she knew without a doubt that it just had to be Xenon.
Neveah hurried over in that direction, the distant silhouette becoming clearer as the mist faded away to reveal a forest.
In Neveah’s rush to get to the silhouette, she did not take note of just how familiar this forest was, all she could see was the man before her.
Though his back was faced to her, he was clad in a black cloak which convinced Neveah even more that this was certainly Xenon.
’Xenon is here... everything is fine now...’ Neveah thought to her wolf in relief.
’Be careful Veah, something feels off...’ Neveah’s wolf thought back to her warily, though she did not dissuade Neveah from approaching the man.
Now, Neveah was just a few steps away from him and so she stood and called to him.
"Xenon... what is this place?" Neveah asked in concern.
There was no response given and Neveah’s brows furrowed slightly.
"Xenon?" Neveah called again, reaching a hand out but Neveah’s hand froze mid air when she heard a voice.
Indeed, this voice was familiar to her, yet it was a voice Neveah never thought she would hear again.
"You call me the name of another... how dare you forget me, Omega?" Came the voice.
Neveah’s eyes widened in horror as the man turned around to reveal piercing green eyes where there should have been pitch black orbs,
And a face that most definitely was not Xenon...no, it was the face of Neveah’s nightmare.
A chill of terror ran down Neveah’s spine and her hands trembled visibly.
"A... Alessio..." Neveah stuttered out, staggering backwards as she was faced with the terror she had left behind in the Eclipse Domain.
A pulsing feeling kicked up in Neveah’s heart and her hand shot up to her chest as the mate bond...
That cursed bond she had buried in the depths of her heart roared to life, strong and overwhelming.
"Omega..." Alessio began,
"Don’t... don’t call me that...my name is Neveah..." Neveah stuttered out in a shaky tone.
"Omega..." He said again as though making it clear to Neveah that this infact was her true name.
"Do you forget who you are?...Whom you truly belong to?" Alessio asked as he took a step forward.
Neveah retreated again, her heart was beating so fast and the mate bond tugged fiercely at her, demanding for her to move closer to him and not away.
But Neveah fought against that overwhelming urge, she would never let herself be ruled by the mate bond.
"You are my mate...mine! The Creator meant for us to be together...you cannot have anyone else!"
"How dare you call for another?! How dare you give your heart to another?! You are mine!" Alessio roared, his voice shaking the forest itself.
Alessio’s eyes glowed a bright green to show the presence of his wolf Terran on the surface.
"No...no! I will never be yours! Never!" Neveah roared right back, shaking her head furiously.
Fate could not pair her with a horror and leave her with no way out, Neveah would never stand for it.
"You may deny it all you want Omega, but the bond festers within you... you can never be with another because my shadow will always hover over your heart..."
"Reminding you that you Omega...you did love me..." Alessio said in a knowing tone.
"Lies...all lies!" Neveah hissed as she battled with the tug of the mate bond within her.
Alessio moved closer and for every step he took closer, Neveah retreated a step backwards.
It was only that whenever Neveah retreated backwards, a sharp pain tore through her heart as though she pierced a dagger deeper into her heart.
"You may brush it off, but you will never be rid of it...of me..." Alessio stated with an obsessive smirk on his lips.
"You are a demon..." Neveah snarled, breathing heavily.
Alessio tilted his head to the side in amusement at Neveah’s accusation.
"Indeed I am...but love, I am your inner demon..."
"So you can run, as far as you want but you can never run from your fate. Alessio Terran Lothaire is your fate... Omega."
"In life... and in death... for all eternity..." Alessio said clearly.
Each word Alessio said tore through Neveah’s heart and tears sprang up to her eyes, streaming down her cheeks.
"What do you want... what do you want from me?" Neveah asked in a shaky tone.
"To take you back to the beginning...to your beginning..." Alessio said to Neveah with a smirk.
"My beginning... and how would you know anything of it?" Neveah asked in bafflement.
"Because that day... should have been your end." Alessio hissed.
The black cloak disappeared from his back and a terrifying growl escaped his lips as his claws and canines elongated.
There was a murderous look in Alessio’s eyes, just like it had been on that day... the day Alessio killed her...
