Omega Summoner-Chapter 2811: The Origin of Summoning Magic VIII
Adrian could see that Vio’s soul is flickering and that he might die at a much earlier rate if he did not do anything. Adrian immediately told Iremia to make sure that Vio holds on because he will find a way to help him immediately. Iremia did not want to say that life needs to go on because she knows the bond that both Vio and Telos has. They practically grew up together and Vio is the only creature that made sure that Telos is safe.
It would be incredibly disingenuous for them to not try and save Vio because he blocked an attack for Telos. If they need to repay someone then they need to repay Vio right now as he is the savior of their child. If Vio did not block the attack then Telos might have died earlier today.
"I will ask the gods and goddesses of life if they can heal him, my child. Do not worry and look for a way to help him in your own way." Iremia stated even though she also knew that Vio would likely die in a few days.
Iremia knew that her son might just be processing grief differently compared to others which is why she did not stop him from going through it. If Telos finds relief in finding a way to help the dying Vio then she would let him do it. Even though Telos is smart and mature for his age, he is still a child at the tender age of ten.
"Thank you, mother. I will definitely find a way. Please make sure that Vio lives while I find a way." Adrian stated as he immediately went to the room prepared for him and took out the temporary panel where the books about contracts are.
Adrian immediately read all of the books that he has been given but the knowledge in there was not enough. He needed something more detailed about the soul. He was told that there was a forbidden archive and it can only be accessed if a Greater God of Death gives them permission. Adrian instantly used the magic scroll to ask the God of Death Orcus for permission in the forbidden archive as he already used up two days in reading the other books. Fortunately for Telos, he has already gotten to know the God of Death Orcus and one could say that the latter is more of a teacher. In fact, the God of Death Orcus even thought to make Telos his student once he comes of age because he shows that much promise.
"I shall grant you access to the Forbidden Archive in the Grand Babel Library but you cannot copy or take out any books there. You cannot also use spells that uses the lives of others as sacrifice. This scroll will grant you the access to the Forbidden Archive. Just go to the attendants there and they shall help you." The God of Death Orcus replied and the magic scroll suddenly glowed with his insignia.
Adrian did not waste any time and immediately went for the library. Aernas was not there but there was another librarian that escorted him to the door. Unlike the other doors in this library, the door to the forbidden archive is just a door of darkness. The librarian told him that this was made to make sure that anyone that does not have permission will not be able to enter but also be punished in the process.
"From what I have been told, anyone that tries to access the forbidden archive without any permission will be sent to a special place in Tartarus. I do not know what happens after that but there have been cases of some trying to enter but they returned as if their souls left their bodies. Still, the young master already has permission from a Greater God of Death hence you can enter without any worries. Just make sure that you do not lose your entrance permit." The librarian stated.
"Thanks for the heads up." Adrian replied as he gulped because he still has some uncertainties even though the God of Death Orcus is not one to joke.
Adrian then entered the forbidden archive which is just an entrance of pure darkness. He turned around and the entrance has already vanished which made him be left in a space where only darkness is present. Funnily enough, Telos actually has Night Vision which makes him able to see in the dark but not clearly compared to when someone has Dark Vision. Still, the night vision made Adrian able to see the things around him and the entire surroundings were infused with some sort of energy.
"Is this darkness made from the sufferings of souls?" Adrian muttered as he knows that Telos can only see souls and not energy.
Just as Adrian is thinking what he needs to do next, the scroll that the God of Death Orcus has blessed suddenly released a powerful bright light that dispersed the darkness. Adrian had to close his eyes as the light could literally blind someone if they directly looked at it. When Adrian opened his eyes, he is suddenly inside a large library with books having runic chains on them.
"A visitor? How rare... and quite a young child at that." A hooded figure stated as this was the librarian of the forbidden archives.
"Hello. My name is Telos and I am looking for a book regarding souls. A book that specifically interacts with souls would be best... please." Adrian stated as he just blurted out what he needs because Vio does not have a long time.
"A visitor with a mission that is precise. I like you. In the forbidden archives, all you need is to wander and you will be sent directly to the book that you want if you crave for it deeply." The forbidden archive librarian stated.
"Okay. Thank you." Adrian replied as he does not know if what the forbidden archive librarian is even true.
"Just need to wander about and the book should appear before you if you are desperate enough. I think that is what the librarian said. Still, it is quite refreshing to see actual books instead of digitized versions of books. Then again, forbidden tomes also contain some of the effects of the magic in them which is why they can only be bound on magic paper." Adrian stated and he suddenly slammed his head onto a bookshelf.
THUD!
Adrian might not be fully paying attention to his surroundings but he knew that he was walking in a corridor before. The fact that something suddenly appeared before him meant that the book has shown itself to him. He did not even need to think about the book as it seems that the book will locate you if one’s heart is desperate enough for that knowledge.
The book that appeared before Adrian did not have a title as it looked incredibly old and the pages are even made from magic beast hide. This is a book that might be as old as this epoch because Adrian could see remnant soul energy from it. It might be a book that has been passed down or been used by countless beings throughout the ages.
As soon as Adrian touched the book, he was sucked inside of it. Adrian wanted to resist but all of his body turned into a soul and got sent inside the world inside of the book. Inside of the book world, there was nothing much except a mantra being chanted continuously. The mantra was not loud but it definitely had a source which is why Adrian immediately ran towards it.
As the mantra grew louder and louder, the area around him started to get blurry and the world turned foggy. Adrian ignored everything and just went straight to the source of the chanting mantra because this is just a made-up world created by the magic of the book. As the mantra grew louder, Adrian felt some sort of pressure in his soul as if he is walking around muddy water.
The pressure became unbearable as the mantra became the loudest and he could not go forward. In the end, Adrian felt trapped but he remembered that Vio’s life is in his hand. If he cannot move forward then Adrian thought of another way that Telos might have used. Instead of moving forward, Adrian bit his finger and immediately created a magical contract on the ground.
The magical contract is something that will bind the knowledge of this forbidden book into his mind. It is not a violation of what the God of Death Orcus wants as he is not taking the book out or copying it. He will challenge the ’spirit’ of this book in order to get all of its knowledge transferred to him. If this book had no ’spirit’ then it would not have prevented Adrian from going close to the source of its mantra.
