Chapter 245: Are you busy?- 2

Yohan met up with Cassie and they went to an abandoned park, not too far from her house.

"I’m sorry I dragged you out here," Cassie sighed, "it’s just that I didn’t want to come on my own..."

"It’s fine, I’m glad you did," Yohan gave her reassuring smile, "I wouldn’t want to let you meet with that bastard on your own... So when did he say he’ll get here?"

"I don’t know, he just said he’ll be waiting," she responded.

Initially when she called Freddie, he didn’t even want to meet with her, but he later changed his mind and told her to come to this place alone.

But with everything Yohan had told her she was a bit scared, so she decided to ask Yohan to tag along.

"C-Cassie?" A voice called out in a hush tone, as Freddie emerged from behind a tree.

He spotted Yohan late since he was walking behind and there was hardly any light around. But by that time there was no way to escape.

"Yo..." the word couldn’t leave his mouth, as he subconsciously took a step backwards.

"Good to see you again, Freddie," Yohan said with a dark grin, "I believe we have some unfinished business,"

"I can’t believe you’re actually stupid enough to try and see her again,"

"N-No, no I just wanted to m-make sure she was okay," Freddie stuttered.

Yohan leaned in, with his face right in front of Freddie’s "You want to make sure she’s okay when you are the danger itself?"

"I mean—"

"Freddie, is it true?" Cassie cut in. She didn’t want to believe it but after seeing his reaction, she was starting to doubt herself.

Freddie’s head dipped disgracefully, "I’m sorry,"

Cassie gasped as her hand went up to her mouth, the shock almost even knocked her off her feet.

"I can’t believe..." she mumbled, "I trusted you,"

"I didn’t mean to hurt you, I was just thinking–"

"Thinking that you could make her forget, just like you did with the other girls," Yohan cut in, grabbing him by the collar and slamming him against the tree.

Freddie had no words because he was right.

"That’s enough Yohan, thank you. I’ve heard all I need to hear," Cassie said before turning her back to leave,

"Don’t ever contact me again, if not I’ll report you to the police," she added sternly

"Cassie wait, can’t we just talk about it?" He called out but she simply just ignored him as she continued walking.

"You heard the lady," Yohan shoved him away forcing him to the ground, "if you ever get close to her again, then you would have a problem with me,"

Yohan’s gaze was cold and deadly. Freddie couldn’t even see a glimpse of the boy he used to know back in highschool. Right now, the person standing in front of him was a totally different being.

"O-Okay," He averted his gaze, too scared to even hold eye contact for long.

"Also what happened to Kai Lu, was it your uncle?" Yohan asked.

Freddie shook his head, "No, we’ve also been in hiding since last night,"

"Hiding from who?" Yohan wondered, "With those guys dead, I thought you and your uncle are already in the clear. According to the news, the police doesn’t have any major leads,"

"It’s not the police we are worried about, it’s the Baker,"

"The Baker?" Yohan repeated.

"Yeah, the Baker himself. He’s probably the one that killed all those people,"

"Why?" His brow furrowed.

"It’s the rule, anyone that risks exposing his existence to the public dies. Right now, he might also be coming for me and my uncle so we have to stay hidden,"

"They say once you get on his bad side, then you are already dead. No one can protect you, not even the police. Even if you travel to a different country there’s no escaping him,"

Hearing him speak of the Baker like he was some kind of monster, Yohan felt a chill go down his spine.

But he could also see that Freddie was deeply troubled already. He no interest in hurting him just for fun so he sighed and turned away, leaving Freddie to sob in despair.

"I guess I’ll be scared too if someone like that was coming after me," Yohan thought as he walked away.

Even with his special wellness techniques, killing someone in police custody would still prove to be an almost impossible task.

’and to think he was able to do it all in the same day’

That wasn’t just because of whatever special skill he had, that was something more. That was real power.

"I thought you were already gone?"

He found Cassie waiting for him a short distance away.

"I wanted to say thank you before leaving," she said. "And I’m sorry I couldn’t thank you properly when I woke up at your place. I should’ve believed you from the start."

"Yeah, you should have," Yohan chuckled, thinking back to the awkward position he’d been caught in.

"I know. How about I buy you a drink to properly apologize?" she suggested lightly.

"I don’t really drink," he replied casually.

"Then you can just accompany me," Cassie said. "I could really use a drink, and it’s not safe for a woman to drink alone."

"Fine," Yohan sighed, "but we can’t stay out too late."

And just like that, they went off into the night.

At first, things were a little awkward, but after a few drinks Cassie began to relax and unwind. She turned out to be even more easygoing than Yohan had imagined.

Maybe she’d already made peace with it, because she didn’t seem to care much about the incident with her father anymore.

They talked about past events, distant relatives who always acted strange, laughing and trading jokes as the hours passed.

The joyful night ended abruptly, with Yohan forced to carry Cassie on his back.

"Why did you drink so much if you’re such a lightweight?" he sighed.

"It’s not my fault," she mumbled. "It’s that bastard Freddie... and that stupid test coming up... and—"

Luckily for him, she was still sober enough to direct him back to her house.
