Noble Pampering: Demon CEO's Relentless Entanglement-Chapter 499 - 495: Sophie Smith, Try Messing with Me Again! (Part 1)
Crippled?
Sophie Smith stood there, her gaze empty, and didn’t come to her senses for a long time.
"The bullet hit Young Master Asher’s left arm, directly impacting the nerve. Although the bullet has been removed, based on Young Master’s current condition, I’m afraid the hand might not recover." The doctor spoke as gently as possible, not wanting to conclude definitively.
"You’re a damn doctor, you’re responsible for fixing his hand!" Luke Land lost all reason, grabbing the doctor’s collar and pinning him against the wall.
"Luke, be rational!" Oscar Land interjected to stop him.
Several accompanying doctors quickly pleaded.
"Young Master Luke, rest assured, we’ll do everything we can to heal Young Master Asher’s hand, please release Doctor Harrison."
Sophie Smith took a deep breath from the bottom of her heart, and walked towards the room with difficulty.
Every step felt like a knife cutting her, the distance between them so close, yet she felt as though she’d never reach his side.
The anesthetic’s effect hadn’t completely worn off, he lay quietly on the bed, his head slightly turned.
Sophie approached him and knelt by the bedside.
All along, in her heart, he was an arrogant, domineering, forceful, even somewhat childish and shameless man.
In the beginning, she deeply detested that arrogance, domineering nature, and forcefulness that was uniquely his, but gradually, it became a habit, then later, something she couldn’t leave behind.
She thought she must have masochistic tendencies.
When he was asleep, he actually looked much gentler than usual.
She carefully looked at his long eyelashes, momentarily losing focus.
A few minutes later, Oscar Land and Luke Land also walked in.
Seeing Asher Land in such a weakened state sparked a nameless anger in Luke Land’s heart, ordinarily, Asher was so unruly and aggressive in front of him, he preferred seeing that side of him rather than the feeble person lying on the bed.
Feeling troubled, and afraid of disturbing Asher’s rest, Luke Land had no choice but to stride out of the room.
Seeing Asher resting with Sophie by his side, Oscar didn’t disturb them further and turned his wheelchair to leave.
And at that moment, the room was once again just her and Asher alone.
She remained quietly by his side, listening to the tick-tock of the clock on the wall.
Outside, the sky gradually brightened, and then sunlight streamed in.
Sophie walked to the window and pulled open the curtain.
Asher seemed to feel a sting, slowly opened his eyes, but as awareness returned, pain followed closely.
"Ah..." Instinctively, he took a sharp breath.
"You’re awake?" Hearing the noise, Sophie quickly turned and walked to his side.
"Is the wound hurting? The doctor is downstairs in the hall, I’ll go call them up!" With that, she turned to go.
"No need." His voice carried a hint of unexpected weakness, "Even if they come up, it won’t solve the pain problem."
Sophie obediently stopped, paused for a moment, and still walked to his side.
But suddenly, she didn’t know what to say.
"I’m really fine, don’t worry."
Fine?
Does he know his hand is crippled? Why does he always have to act like he’s invincible?
"Asher Land, actually, actually you just need to bow down to your father, why do you have to be so..."
She suddenly stopped speaking.
