Chapter 98: Chapter 98: Treating the Wound

He reigned in all his emotions, clearing the food boxes on his desk with a sweep of an arm that dumped them right into the rubbish bin.

The scattered porridge filled the bin and the aroma of rice grew even richer.

A nurse walked in carrying a first-aid kit. Unable to find the girl who had been clutching her hand earlier, she noticed the wasted porridge in the bin and murmured in pity, "Such good porridge, what a shame to be wasted like this."

The nurse was unaware of the situation, assuming that the girl she had seen before was the young patient’s girlfriend, who had brought him food.

Upon hearing her words, the teenager on the hospital bed merely furrowed his brows, closing his eyes.

When he next opened his eyes, he had resumed his usual innocent appearance, talking in a harmless, youthful manner. "That was my fault, could you please toss it out for me, Nurse?"

Louis Snyder was an obedient and harmless boy. Despite being sick and looking a bit untidy, his soft black hair enhanced his youthful aura. This vulnerable look elicited sympathy from others. Naturally, the nurse agreed to his request.

She took out the trash on her way out.

Once the door closed, the once strong aroma of rice in the ward was gone.

The teenager lay in bed unable to sleep, despite earlier feelings of fatigue.

Every time he closed his eyes, he would alternately see a bright smile and a pair of tear-stained eyes.

Two people, two faces.

But with completely different temperaments.

Hannah, hiding her injured hand, left the hospital and entered a nearby pharmacy.

Ignoring the strange looks from the salesperson, she bought herself bandages and alcohol.

Seeing Hannah as a young girl, the salesperson kindly offered, "Would you like some help treating your wound?"

Hannah raised her head. Tear tracks were still visible on her face, and her eyes were red, however, they held a thin veneer of a smile. In a soft voice, she said, "That won’t be necessary, thank you."

She picked up her purchases and left.

Instead of going back to school, she found a bench in a nearby park and started treating her wound there.

The live stream had ended the moment Hannah left the hospital room.

The viewer count had been quite good.

Most of the viewers sympathized with Hannah and expressed their indignation for her. Of course, there were also those who were watching Hannah’s stream for the first time and found the drama enjoyable. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

They hoped that the live streamer would continue on this path.

After all, a drama-filled live stream, especially one where the streamer was the one being treated harshly, attracted a larger audience.

Golden Lotus didn’t dare to share these comments with her mistress. It poked its head out of Hannah’s pocket and looked at her wound. Seeing Hannah’s injury, Golden Lotus trembled, "Mistress, are you alright?" It asked cautiously.

Hannah only lowered her head and continued to clean her wound. She showed no signs of pain on her face.

But her face was slightly pale, and her lips were white.

She unscrewed a bottle of alcohol.

Golden Lotus jumped out, "Mistress, that’s... Ah!"

Before Golden Lotus could finish speaking, Hannah had poured a large portion of the alcohol onto her wound.

Even though it was only an artificial intelligence incapable of feeling pain, Golden Lotus was still scared and covered its eyes with its tail.

For some reason, whenever her mistress was silent, Golden Lotus would always feel a chill it could not shake off with its fluffy fur.

"Mistress, doesn’t it hurt?" Golden Lotus blew gently at Hannah’s wound.

Hannah glanced briefly at its fluffy head, after a long stretch of silence, she murmured, "I’m used to it."

Golden Lotus looked up at her.

Bathed in the glaring daylight, her mistress sat in the sun. Half of her exquisite, alluring face was engulfed by darkness. The always present gentle curvature of her lips surprisingly cast a tiny shadow.
