Chapter 80: Chapter 80: Dream Realized

He shoved her into the car, leaving a parting shot, "You wanted to be favored, didn’t you? Today, I’ll fulfill your dream."

The car door closed, and the black sports car sped away into the dark night, leaving the closed school gates and the campus behind.

As the car accelerated into the distance, disappearing into the darkness, it took along with it a past, suffused with blood and full of sorrow.

He thought that if this little lass stayed by his side forever, he would probably forget all the busted shit from his past.

Just keeping the girl around was enough for him to deal with, forget paying attention to others.

He was not one of those who swore to be steadfast till death, nor did he make grand promises. His nature was emotionally detached.

Quite simply, once he fancied someone, he didn’t want to let them go.

At least not right now, considering that precious few people moved him enough to break his rules.

Whether it was manipulation or deliberate bait, no matter what, he was willing to take the hook, grinning as he spent his money like water to keep them around.

Number 96, Mid-hill Courtyard.

It was the first time Arnold Simmons had proactively given out his business card, arranging to meet. Initially, his intentions were merely to toy with her. Who could have expected that in less than a month, he would personally bring her home?

And that too with an impatience.

The cool wind on the way had blown away a good part of the heat from Arnold’s body, allowing him to finally calm down, but he did not regret his spontaneous action.

The girl was leaning against the seat, her hands still tightly gripping the seatbelt.

He assumed that his fast driving had terrified her. Leaning over to check on her, he realised that she was asleep.

Arnold couldn’t help but chuckle and sigh.

He was a bit frustrated, the little bit of heat left in his heart after the fire was extinguished seemed to still have sparks left, keeping him uncomfortable, and perhaps ready to reignite anytime.

"Hannah Winter."

He took out a cigarette, couldn’t help but say her name, and gazed at her side profile.

The girl whimpered, her eyelashes trembling slightly, showing signs of awakening.

He put down the cigarette in his hand, unbuckled the seatbelt, and just about leaned closer when she fell silent again.

He froze, stepped out of the car and closed the door behind him.

Standing outside the villa, he watched the expanse of grove not far away, the warm yellow glow from the cigarette between his fingers casting a soft light on his exceptionally handsome face.

When the cigarette was finished, the man went around to the other side, opened the car door, and lifted the sleeping girl out.

The girl in his arms was as soft as water, light as a feather, and her sweet floral scent kept wafting into his nose. Her soft, black hair was spread out on his arm.

A bit tickling.

Heart tickling.

Arnold laid her in the master bedroom and went to the guest room himself.

In his dream that night, all he could see was her white face, smiling eyes, exquisite body, and gorgeous red lips. Her gaze on him was full of unspoken affection.

The curtains slightly moved, bringing in a room full of ambiguous tenderness. It felt like a sea rolling with waves, or fireworks in all their brilliant splendor.

He reached out, wanting to wipe the red off her lips, and he seemed to hear her whisper, "Spring brings out the colors in flowers. The willow sways, and the heart of the flower gently opens, revealing the dew-kissed face of the peony."

Lost deep within his dream, Arnold suddenly woke up.

The first thing he saw were a pair of eyes, brimming with laughter.

Hannah, resting her chin on her hands, was sitting beside Arnold’s bed on a chair she had moved over. Her brows and eyes were full of smiles, her voice soft, "Mr. Simmons, are you awake?"

Arnold stared at the woman beside his bed. The face that had been slightly blurred in his mind, now instantly became clear.
