No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 54: Holding a Grudge
The man, reminded of Arnold Simmons’ usual tactics, felt a chill running up his spine. Hurriedly, he apologized with a laugh, slapping his own mouth, "Look at my terrible mouth, I wouldn’t dare to lay a finger on Young Master Simmons’ people."
Oliver Taylor detected the man’s unwillingness to back down, but chose not to comment further this time.
They were driven by lust and devoid of sense.
If someone wanted to court death, he would sit back and enjoy the show.
As they were discussing about new entertainers on the block, Harvey Cooper suddenly spoke up, "George River, where are you going?"
"I have something to do." He responded casually, picking up his coat from the side and heading out.
Only when the two bigwigs left did the atmosphere in the private room relax significantly.
George River didn’t go anywhere else after leaving. He suddenly thought of something and hurried after Hannah and Arnold Simmons.
In the ground floor lobby, Hannah and Arnold walked one in front of the other.
The young lady seemed still angry, wearing a large hat, arms crossed, head down, completely ignoring Arnold Simmons.
Hannah had met many men in her life. Whether they were smitten by her face, attracted by her status, or even sought to harm her, they showered her with flattery and praise.
They said she was an April peach blossom. Because the poem by Blue Star stated, "All beauty fades in April time," she stood alone on the branch, exuding an enchanting and intense charm, the brightest pink among all.
She found it cliché.
They praised her as the night sky full of stars, not just one, but each and every star, a beautiful sight at every glance, every frown and smile like a meteor crossing the sky, dazzling and stunning.
She complained that they were cursing her short life.
The stars we see with our naked eyes have died millions of years ago.
Later, the men became smarter, studying the works of great Blue Star literati and writing for her a piece from "Melody of the Rose Goddess".
She found the ancient text of Blue Star difficult to understand but it sounded good to read, so she accepted it and hung it on her bedhead for daily appreciation.
Only Arnold Simmons, this man, could harshly comment that her appearance was just average.
If she was average, others would cry out of despair, wouldn’t they?
Hannah was getting more and more upset, turning her head to have a serious discussion with Arnold Simmons about his comment, when a long arm reached out and pulled her into an embrace.
Caught off guard, Hannah bumped forcefully onto the man’s chest.
No romance there, but a real pain in her nose.
"Arnold Simmons!" the young lady in his arms cried out delicately.
Her voice was a little soft, possibly sobbing due to the pain in her nose.
The hand Arnold Simmons had around Hannah’s waist tightened and then relaxed. Seeing George River suddenly appear in front of him, he said coldly, "Young Master River, did you come running after us because you regretted not having the chance to say goodbye to your uncle back in the room?"
George River sneered, "Arnold Simmons, unlike others show their you respect, I am not afraid of you. I only have one question for you."
Arnold Simmons remained composed, as if he was already prepared for George River’s question, and simply said, "Speak."
Cold tone, terse words.
The colder and calmer the man seemed, the more George River struggled to control his anger. He clenched his fist, his knuckles turning white, "Where is Jimmy?"
Jimmy Simmons, the missing heir apparent of the Simmons Family, had been last seen with Arnold Simmons three months ago. Surveillance showed the two had an argument, after which Jimmy stormed off angrily.
