No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1902 Hayes Edwards Extra (59)
Grace Winter stared at him, her round eyes blank, "But... but I haven’t finished eating yet."
Hayes Edwards scolded her, "What are you eating, you’re not allowed to eat!"
She looked a bit deflated and glanced at the lunchbox in Hayes’ hand, "Alright then."
On the way back, Hayes tried one of the chicken wings he roasted, but after just one bite, he found a trash can to spit it out.
He then remembered the way Grace praised him earlier.
"Liar, what’s so tasty about it."
Chubby said, "Grace probably didn’t want to hurt your feelings, that’s why she said it was good."
After saying that, Chubby nodded to himself, feeling his guess was spot on.

The school spring outing ended on Friday afternoon, and it was only two o’clock by the time they got back to school.
They had no classes in the afternoon, enjoying an extra half-day off, but there was one thing...
The homeroom teacher tapped the podium with a chalkboard eraser, drawing everyone’s attention, "A 600-word essay about this spring outing, submit it by Monday, I will check."
With these words, everyone wilted.
Indeed, there’s no such thing as a simple spring outing, it always requires an essay to wrap it up, just like the school movie screening last week, which also necessitated a 600-word review.
"Alright, class dismissed, be safe on your way home."
The word "dismissed" set the entire school building abuzz with activity.
On the way back, Hayes and a few others agreed to play basketball in the neighborhood. Grace Winter held two backpacks, sitting on a nearby stone bench watching them play.
During this time of day, the neighborhood was still very quiet. Since school ended early, there was no one at home either.
After playing for a while, Hayes noticed Grace sitting on the bench, nodding off, so he walked over and handed her his keys, "You go back first and put my bag in my room."
Grace nodded, rubbing her face which was a bit warm from drowsiness, "What about you?"
Hayes tossed the basketball in his hand up high and caught it, "I’m going to stay here and play basketball."
Grace pursed her lips, reluctant to leave, "Then I’ll stay here with you."
Hayes said, "Hurry back, I don’t need you to stay."
The boys over there were already urging him, and he couldn’t be bothered to say more, so he turned around and left.
When he turned back and saw Grace still sitting there, he shouted again, "Grace Winter, hurry up and go home, do you hear me!"
Only then did Grace stand up from the bench, patting her bag and sighing softly, "Chasing me away again."
That evening, they had dinner together at Grace Winter’s house.
The topic of further education came up again at the table.
Father Edwards and Mother Edwards had already decided to have Hayes attend the middle school division of Dawn Light Middle School.
Hayes’ grades had never been very good, and he’d even been at the bottom of his grade for several consecutive times, but after a parents’ meeting last year, his grades started to improve.
Mother Edwards had even talked to him, asking what caused the change.
Hayes’ answer was, "Dignity."
At the time, it made Mother Edwards laugh.
Anyway, a child’s improved grades are always a joyful thing.
"What about Grace, where are you planning to have Grace attend middle school?" Mother Edwards asked.
Mother Winter said they hadn’t decided yet, "Grace is still young, it’s naturally better for her to grow up and study in a familiar environment, but..."
The conversation that followed was the adults’ chat.
Hayes couldn’t quite understand it, and Grace Winter probably couldn’t either.
