Chapter 1857: Chapter 1857: Hayes Edwards Side Story (14)

He could only focus his gaze on Grace Winter’s backpack, "What snacks did you bring?"

They had gone shopping together yesterday, so they knew exactly what each had bought.

Yet he still asked.

Then, Grace Winter, as if presenting treasures, opened her backpack and listed out the items for Hayes Edwards.

Cookies, sandwiches, cookies, juice, cookies, fruit...

So many were cookies.

But the flavors were different, with strawberry flavor being the most.

Hayes Edwards frowned, "No chips?"

Grace Winter paused for a moment, "Chips are too big to fit, so I didn’t bring any."

Hayes Edwards snorted.

"Do you want some cookies?" Grace Winter took out a small strawberry-flavored cookie from her backpack.

The cookies were all packed individually, with cute animal prints on them.

The one Grace Winter handed to Hayes Edwards had a little deer on it.

Hayes Edwards had no interest in these childish things meant to please three-year-olds, so he swallowed his saliva and said, "No."

"Alright then." Grace Winter had to take the small cookie back.

Little Chubby suddenly poked his head from the back seat, "Grace, if he’s not having it, I want it!"

Then Grace Winter handed the small cookie to Little Chubby.

Hayes Edwards was more annoyed. He didn’t say another word to Grace Winter for the rest of the trip.

The bus soon arrived at the destination, a park not far from the school.

It’s not the weekend, so there weren’t many people in the park. Mostly, there were elderly folks doing morning exercises, with the chirping of birds and the fragrance of flowers, the weather was nice.

Once the bus came to a halt, the teacher stood at the front, waving a small flag, and mentioned some safety rules, "Kids, remember to hold hands and line up properly when you get off the bus... Did everyone remember?"

"Got it!"

As the kids responded in unison, the bus doors opened.

Everyone paired up, holding hands.

Grace Winter also extended her small hand, soft, with two tiny dimples on the back.

Seeing Hayes Edwards glance over, she gave him a sweet smile.

Like a little sun.

Ah! So annoying!

That’s what Hayes Edwards thought, but he still held Grace Winter’s hand.

And so the two of them got off the bus hand in hand.

There weren’t many classes in kindergarten, and generally each class had at least two teachers watching them. For younger kids in smaller classes, there were more teachers.

The assembly spots for several classes were on a wide grass field, where the teachers had laid picnic mats in advance, arranging the kids to sit in groups of five.

Naturally, Grace Winter followed Hayes Edwards, Little Chubby also raised his hand to join their group, leaving two boys who were usually on good terms with Hayes Edwards.

In their circle, Grace Winter was the only girl, and two years younger than them.

Everyone liked Grace Winter because she was very well-behaved, and her smile was pretty and sweet like a doll. Even though she was sometimes a bit oblivious, it didn’t stop her from being popular.

Probably only Hayes Edwards "didn’t like" Grace Winter.

However, Grace Winter always shared delicious treats with him.

"Hayes Edwards, these are my favorite little cookies. Do you want some?"

"Hayes Edwards, do you want milk? It’s strawberry-flavored."

"Hayes Edwards, you..."

Hayes Edwards felt like he was being brainwashed by the words "Hayes Edwards", very annoyed, "You eat it yourself."

"Huh?" Grace Winter was a bit disappointed, "Then I’ll eat it myself."

Hayes Edwards didn’t respond to her.
