Chapter 1854: Chapter 1854: Hayes Edwards Side Story (11)

He also wanted a sweet little sister.

Hayes Edwards snorted, completely indifferent, "Whatever you want."

Then little Chubby really ran off to find Grace Winter.

Hayes sneaked a glance and then heard someone calling his name.

It was a little girl in a princess dress, wearing a hairband, looking very pretty and quiet, with a shy smile on her face, "Hayes, we’re playing a game, do you want to join?"

Hayes wasn’t very interested but asked anyway, "What are you playing?"

The little girl said, "Duck, Duck, Goose."

Hayes was even less interested. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw little Chubby chatting with Grace Winter, and then the two of them went off to find the people hiding.

"Hayes, do you want to play?" the little girl asked again.

Hayes was the most handsome boy in the whole kindergarten, with big eyes and long eyelashes that looked like they were painted on. Everyone liked playing with him.

Even though he didn’t seem that approachable.

Before Hayes could say whether he’d play or not, the teacher over there had already called for everyone to gather for morning exercises.

Little Chubby came running back, happily telling Hayes, "Just now, Grace called me Chubby brother."

He giggled foolishly.

Hayes folded his arms, looking grumpy.

When school ended in the afternoon, sure enough, he heard Grace Winter saying goodbye to little Chubby, "Goodbye, Chubby brother."

He tugged the straps of his backpack and left without waiting for Grace Winter.

Grace realized it and hurriedly chased after him with her doll in her arms, "Hayes, wait for me."

Not only did he not wait, but he walked faster.

Then he heard someone shout from behind, "She fell down!"

Someone had fallen, Hayes couldn’t have cared less, since these things happened frequently in kindergarten.

But just as he was about to continue walking, he heard Grace Winter’s name.

Oh, so it was her who fell.

He cared even less.

Hayes lifted his foot to walk forward, then after a few steps, frustratedly ran a hand through his hair and turned back.

Grace Winter, who had fallen, was already being carried to the side by a teacher.

The weather was hot now, and the children weren’t wearing thick clothes. Grace Winter’s knee hit the ground directly and got a bit scraped.

The little girl held her doll, her eyes red, tears brimming, looking like she was about to cry, making others feel sorry for her.

"Grace, does it hurt?"

She shook her head, hugging her doll tight, trying to be brave, "It doesn’t hurt."

The teacher held her, comforting her and praising her, "Grace is so brave."

Just as Grace Winter finished being praised, she saw Hayes running over, sobbed a few times, and then burst into tears with a loud "wah."

While crying, she kept shouting, "Hayes Edwards, I fell down, it hurts so much!"

Hayes, who was running and sweating all over, "..."

The teacher: "???"

Another teacher had already brought over a first aid kit.

But the usually well-behaved Grace Winter was reaching out, crying and saying, "Hayes Edwards, I want Hayes Edwards."

Oh, she wanted Hayes to hold her.

Hayes was frozen in place, not wanting to go over at all.

But the longer he didn’t go, the more Grace cried, somehow reminding him of when Auntie Winter had said Grace nearly cried herself breathless because she couldn’t find her doll.

It was quite similar to now.

Then, Hayes reluctantly walked over. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

As soon as he got close, Grace immediately hugged his arm, as if she had found comfort.
