Chapter 1835: Chapter 1835: Golden Lotus Extra (12)

"That’s right, back then we even gave her a nickname, ’Flashlight Girl,’ because you needed a flashlight to see her."

Aunt Bloomy was quite upset, waving vegetable leaves around, "Shoo, shoo, stop talking nonsense here!"

The three of them burst into laughter, their voices echoing far and wide.

Little Tiger joined in with laughter too, drooling all the way down to his chin.

Just as Hannah walked through the courtyard gate, Arnold Simmons had just set the food on the stone table under the tree. It was his first time cooking with firewood, and he hadn’t quite mastered the timing, turning breakfast into a solid lunch.

However, it looked nice and smelled delicious.

"Did someone come looking for you earlier?" Arnold Simmons handed her some chopsticks.

Just as Hannah was about to take them, he caught her hand, "Go wash your hands first."

"Alright."

She nodded, and Arnold Simmons led her to the water pipe.

The village had running water.

The water was cold.

Hannah reached her hands out, and Arnold Simmons naturally helped her wash, doing it very attentively. She answered the previous question, "It was some of the nearby aunties, one named Aunt Bloomy, another named Camilla, and another named Guinevere."

Arnold Simmons nodded, turned off the water, and pulled out a napkin to dry her hands.

"Arnold, I think they’re really nice people."

Everyday conversations were all about family matters, and they were warmly sincere, dealing with people very honestly.

Arnold Simmons looked down at her, his slightly cool, water-dampened hand gently pinching her soft cheek, "You like it here that much?"

Hannah nodded, the joy in her eyes shining like light from the sky into the stream, "Yes."

Here, they could hold hands, cuddle the dog, and walk from one end of the village to the other, surrounded by scenery, green mountains, flowing water, and fireflies.

You couldn’t find any of these in the bustling city.

Hannah planned to spend an entire summer in Buli.

No one was happier than Big Round.

Coming to Buli, it was like a squirrel returning to the forest, finding everything fun everywhere it went, hanging out with Guinevere’s Big Yellow every day.

Big Yellow was the village’s top dog; the village’s chickens, ducks, geese, and other dogs were all afraid of it. Big Round walked with it, strutting like the wind.

They played in the small stream behind the village. The trees on the bank had wild fruits, and Big Yellow could always find the biggest and sweetest one. Big Round found it amazing and dashed into the woods, coming out with a flower in its mouth.

Big Yellow ate the wild fruit, watched Big Round bustling in and out, and soon gathered lots of flowers.

While Big Round and Big Yellow played, Hannah sat by the bank, sketching in her notebook.

Gold Lotus leaned against her, bored, pondering its transformation into a human.

"I think it’s close, Hannah. This time, I’m sure I can become an adult."

Hannah was mixing colors, rinsing her paintbrush in a bucket, "What if you turn into an old man?"

Gold Lotus: "..."

Angrily sat up!

Hannah patted its head, "Don’t worry, I’ll just tell everyone you’re my grandpa."

Gold Lotus: "!!!"

Really, really angry!

Big Round ran over, carrying a bunch of flowers in its mouth, all kinds of colors and species, probably wildflowers from the hills, looking rather pretty, with a few stalks of green foxtail mixed in.

It placed the flowers on Hannah’s lap and then laid its head there, its ears twitching, eyes fixed on Hannah.

The dog’s affection was intense and genuine, its tail unabashedly wagging with happiness.
