Chapter 1831: Chapter 1831: Golden Lotus Extra (8)

The big circle tilted its head, shook its ears, and placed the toy ball next to Jinlian. It nudged it with its nose, implying it wanted her to throw the ball.

This is one of the big circle’s favorite games.

"Go find Hannah, I’m not in the mood," Jinlian extended a paw and kicked the toy ball away.

The big circle immediately ran off to fetch it and returned in a few seconds, putting the ball back next to Jinlian, its tail wagging joyfully like a propeller.

Jinlian lay on the ground, "I don’t want to play."

The big circle sat down to wait, panting with excitement, a big grin on its face.

Jinlian felt frustrated for just a few seconds, but quickly let go of her worries.

After all, it’s just the cutest!

With Libi backed against the mountain, even in July and August, it’s cool there, and even at the hottest noon, there’s still a cool breeze blowing.

Jinlian also loves it here because she can often see the moon in the sky here, very round and bright, which aids her in her cultivation.

The third time she saw Jinlian sitting at the stone table moon-gazing, Arnold Simmons silently watched for a moment and chose to walk on by.

The big circle chased him to the doorway of the house but then ran back to Jinlian’s side.

Jinlian gazed at the moon, while the big circle watched over her, although it didn’t know what Jinlian was doing.

When Arnold Simmons went inside, Hannah was lying on the bed looking at her phone. Recently, several gossip stories had exploded in the social circle, trending on the hot searches for days; the busybody gossipers couldn’t keep up.

The room in the house wasn’t very big, with old-fashioned windows still adorned with somewhat faded New Year paintings. Outside the window, you could see grapevines standing in the corner of the yard. This season, the flowers had just fallen, and the grapes were slightly tinged with purple, not yet ready to eat.

This was their first day living in Libi long-term, enjoying the night breeze and moonlight here.

Seeing Arnold Simmons walking over, Hannah sat up from the bed, "Did you see the big circle and Jinlian?" 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

Arnold Simmons nodded, "They’re outside watching the moon."

The moon was especially round tonight.

Hannah knew what Jinlian was thinking, she didn’t want to be artificial intelligence anymore, she wanted to become enlightened.

Arnold Simmons reached out and drew her into his arms. He had just finished showering, still carrying a bit of moist freshness on him.

She looked up at him, her eyes curving into a smile, tossed her phone aside, leaned into his embrace, and asked him, "Arnold Simmons, do you like Libi?"

He whispered, "I like it."

Anywhere she is, he likes it.

She smiled, tilting her head up to kiss him on the chin.

Arnold Simmons caught the little hand causing mischief on his waist and pressed it against the soft pillow.

The tip of his nose carried a faint soap scent, and as the lights dimmed, moonlight spread out on the floor.

In the yard, Jinlian grew drowsy from watching the moon, her head nodding downward.

The big circle, already sleepy, lay on the ground, with a few fallen leaves not even shaken off, lightly snoozing.

Jinlian couldn’t hold on any longer, wobbly leaping down from the table, curling up to sleep next to the big circle.

The moon sank from a high place and gradually vanished into the mountains. In the distance, light sneaked out from behind the clouds, and the deep navy blue sky slowly started to bloom.

At dawn, the whole of Libi awoke, each household starting fires and cooking, with smoke curling up and entwining with the morning’s drowsiness.

Gray tiles and white walls, with green willows hanging low, children with schoolbags laughed and ran across the stone bridge, occasionally meeting early-rising elders heading to the fields to work.
