Chapter 1810: Chapter 1810: Daily Life After Marriage (38)

Big Round tilted its head, as if it really understood, pondered seriously for a few seconds, and then barked again at Hannah’s right side.

Hannah looked carefully again, "Alright then, I’ll go with your suggestion—this one on the right."

Big Round grinned foolishly.

Golden Lotus lifted its eyelids for a glance and snorted through its nose.

Childish!

Five days before Lunar New Year, it snowed outside.

In just one night, the outside world had already become a dazzling expanse of white, as if the pause button had been pressed on the entire universe, with only the snowflakes fluttering endlessly from the sky.

In the morning, Hannah opened the door to find the ground covered in snow. Big Round was so excited that it leapt straight into a snowdrift, its head buried in the snow. After a few loud snorts, it lifted its head again, now covered in snow. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

It darted back and forth several times, and just as it was about to reach Hannah, it braked abruptly before bolting forward again.

Hannah called out several times before Big Round bounded back.

Golden Lotus was nowhere near as excited as Big Round.

It seemed a bit drowsy, leaning against the doorframe, looking ready to fall asleep at any moment.

Even when Big Round excitedly came to nuzzle against it, Golden Lotus coldly and disdainfully pushed it away with its paw, commenting, "Childish."

Big Round didn’t understand and took it all as praise, playing with even greater enthusiasm.

"It’s just snow—what’s so fun about it?"

Golden Lotus couldn’t comprehend.

But that incomprehension lasted only two minutes.

Two minutes later, there were already two figures—one big, one small—visible in the snow-covered yard.

When Hannah returned from outside, she took off her scarf and gloves and happily brought out the lanterns she’d bought earlier.

She carried a stool herself to hang them up, but Arnold Simmons, worried for her, stood by to keep watch over her.

"Does this spot look okay?" Hannah asked, standing on tiptoes. She was wearing a hat, which had a fluffy white trim along the edges, making her look even more petite and soft.

As she bent her head down, her eyes were almost covered by the hat.

Arnold reached out to steady the chair before taking a small step back to look, "Perfect."

Only then did Hannah hang up the lanterns.

The snow outside had already stopped, and as soon as the two lanterns were hung and lit, their fiery-red glow reflected off the snowy ground. When the wind blew, the lanterns swayed lightly, along with their tassels, dispelling the chill and lonesomeness of the snowy day.

With paper window decorations, couplets, and lanterns hung up, the house instantly filled with the atmosphere of the New Year.

Hannah even swapped out Big Round and Golden Lotus’s blankets and beds for new ones, each printed with cartoon representations of them.

One showed a grinning, tilted-headed husky; the other displayed Golden Lotus lazily lounging under a tree, snoozing.

Big Round happily rubbed its head against its new mat; after that, it even ran over to rub against Golden Lotus’s.

Golden Lotus was visibly disgusted but still gave Big Round the bone it had hidden as a New Year’s gift.

"Here, don’t say I don’t treat you like a friend. Sure, you’re a bit dumb, a bit silly, and pretty easy to trick... but you’re still my good friend."

Big Round munched on the bone noisily, managing to let out an "Arwoo!" in response to Golden Lotus.

Golden Lotus stepped on Big Round’s neck to leap up onto the window, gazing out at the falling snowflakes.

Through the tiny gaps of the window decorations, the pure white world outside seemed to take on a hint of vibrant color. In the distance, neon lights flickered, fireworks exploded amidst the skyline, and people approached while bathed in the night.

This was their first Lunar New Year spent together.

Once everyone arrived, the room instantly came alive. People like Hayes Edwards and Lucy Taylor, who rarely spent the New Year with friends and family due to their work, had joined in.
