No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1801: Daily Life After Marriage (29)
He guided her to carefully avoid the puddles on the ground.
It was just a short stretch of road; once they crossed the sidewalk, they reached the car.
The driver, who was originally supposed to pick someone up, saw this scene and decided to step back.
When you love someone, all your emotions are etched into your soul. Even the tiniest things become moments of endless thought.
Worried she might catch a chill or fall ill, so it’s best to always stay by her side.
The rain intensified, the downpour splattering hard against the city and blurring its image. The bustling dusk was replaced by the drumming rain, and the deep, dusky sky was weighed down by heavy clouds.
...
Summer had arrived, the air was hot and stifling, and cicadas sang incessantly, day and night. Just as their buzzing ceased for a brief moment, another torrential rain swept in.
Big Round stood under the eaves, his drenched head drooping. Beside him, a little black-furred poodle exuberantly wagged its tail.
Hannah crouched down and reached out to rub Big Round’s head, comforting him, "It’s okay. Even though Little Belle has made new friends, it’ll still be your good friend. That won’t change."
Big Round let out a low "woof" and listlessly rubbed against Hannah’s palm.
Golden Lotus was off amusing himself, barking in a way that only Hannah could understand.
"Little Belle doesn’t want you anymore, doesn’t want you! She has a new boyfriend now, doesn’t want you anymore!"
Hannah: "..."
Luckily, Big Round couldn’t understand.
Nearby, new residents had moved in—a somewhat eccentric old professor.
The old professor owned a beautiful golden retriever, calm, well-behaved, a little gentleman. When other dogs would quarrel, he would step forward to mediate.
Sitting in the sunlight, he was practically the perfect "dream dog."
It wasn’t long before Little Belle, the Samoyed, fell head over paws in love with the golden retriever gentleman at first sight.
The two instantly became the poster couple, playing and laughing together. When Big Round returned with flowers in his mouth and saw this scene, his heart broke.
And then, to top it all off, a heavy rain came, leaving him soaked like a drowned rat.
If it hadn’t been for Hannah pulling him inside, he’d still be wallowing in sadness out there.
Golden Lotus, meanwhile, was overjoyed.
Ever since Big Round had met Little Belle, he’d spent less time playing with him. And Hannah lately... well, she’s been preoccupied too. Recently, Golden Lotus has been studying how to transform into a human.
But this time, he wants to turn into an adult... hehehe!
Hannah couldn’t quite fathom Golden Lotus’s thoughts; she just felt Big Round’s forlorn figure was both pitiful and adorable.
She reached out and hugged his round head, offering comfort, "Don’t be sad. Tomorrow, I’ll take you to the dog park to meet more new friends."
Big Round tilted his head, his eyes seeming to brighten.
The joy of dogs comes so effortlessly.
As the rain kept falling, Arnold Simmons appeared with an umbrella, carrying raincoats for both Big Round and Golden Lotus.
Having received his own little raincoat, along with the news of tomorrow’s trip to the dog park, Big Round leapt excitedly into the rain, splashing water all over Golden Lotus.
Golden Lotus: "..." His mood soured considerably!
He tried to paw at Hannah nearby, but she had already walked off with Arnold Simmons.
Rainy days make the perfect backdrop; the fine, dense threads of rain reflect intimacy and lingering emotions.
Feeling forgotten once more, Golden Lotus made up his mind. Next time, he would definitely turn into an adult!
...
Arnold Simmons had already dealt with all his company affairs. Though still the largest shareholder, he was entrusting the day-to-day management to Thomas Sanders.
With free time at last, he traveled with Hannah.
As they planned to stay here for the New Year, they didn’t venture too far.
