Chapter 1749: Chapter 1749: Arnold Simmons Extra (115)

After saying goodbye in the evening, early the next morning Hannah and Arnold Simmons boarded the plane to Capital City.

The Simmons Family only received the news the next day.

Capital City’s A University is one of the top universities in the country, and many people have set entering A University as their goal.

Getting accepted into A University would undoubtedly be a month-long celebration in a normal household.

But when the news reached the Simmons Family, Old Sir Simmons flew into a furious rage.

Arnold Simmons being accepted into A University was actually revealed by a business partner.

The other party, unaware of the internal conflicts within the Simmons Family, thought that even though Arnold was an illegitimate child hidden from the spotlight, being accepted into A University was still an achievement worth celebrating. So they made a call to congratulate them.

When it came to the Simmons Family’s troublemaker Jimmy Simmons, they would sing endless praises; and now, even more so for Arnold Simmons, who had been accepted into A University.

Compliments like "bringing glory to the family," "inherited intelligence," and "a reflection of your youthful brilliance" were all delivered over the phone.

They thought they were flattering Old Sir Simmons, but to their surprise, he almost choked on hearing the news.

Without even hanging up the phone, his cane struck the floor violently. "Ungrateful wretch! Ungrateful wretch! Get him back here immediately!"

Call him back?

How?

He was already on the plane, and the Simmons Family didn’t have long enough arms to reach Capital City.

Old Sir Simmons was so angry he nearly ended up in the hospital. Unable to stand steadily, he had to settle onto the sofa to catch his breath.

He didn’t care a single bit that Arnold was accepted into A University; he only felt betrayed and manipulated.

And the one behind it was the person he despised most—the illegitimate child he never respected.

"What does he want! What exactly does he want! Really thinks he’s clever, doesn’t he! If he’s so capable, he can stay away from the Simmons Family forever!"

Jimmy Simmons and his parents came rushing back home after receiving the servants’ call.

No one had expected this.

The reports they’d continuously received were all about Arnold repeatedly breaking school rules, skipping classes, missing exams, even intentionally handing in blank test papers.

A complete good-for-nothing who had given up on himself.

Yet this very person somehow managed to get accepted into A University.

"Could this news be wrong?" Jimmy’s father probed hesitantly.

Old Sir Simmons was still furious. "How could it be wrong?! The school’s official list clearly has his name—Arnold Simmons! Does he even have any respect for me as his father?!"

"Don’t be so upset. Now that this has happened, why not just let him go? It’s merely attending university in Capital City, nothing more."

Jimmy’s father didn’t think this was a big deal.

After all, Old Sir Simmons had long declared that the Simmons Clan would only belong to Jimmy, and a mere Arnold Simmons wouldn’t be able to stir up any waves.

Among everyone involved, Jimmy was the only one who truly understood why Old Sir Simmons was so angry.

He had underestimated Arnold Simmons, who had managed to endure silently for so many years.

If he recalled correctly, Hannah had been directly admitted into A University.

How ironic...

Jimmy clenched his fists, his eyes filled with hatred and resentment. His twisted smile carried an eerie madness.

"Jimmy, come to the study with me." Old Sir Simmons stood up and pointed directly at Jimmy.

Jimmy snapped out of it, stepped forward, and supported the old man upstairs.

The conversation in the study that night was naturally Old Sir Simmons instructing Jimmy to focus more, so he wouldn’t end up tarnishing the family name as inferior to Arnold Simmons.

Jimmy agreed to everything on the surface, of course.
