Chapter 168: Chapter 168: Heavy Rain

Honey-coated Knife: Hannah, if it’s too hard, we can quit. Come back home, your father will support you with his scavenging job.

The Commander is Old and Aggressive: If the ungrateful wretch got beat up, so be it. Is Hannah really going to rescue him?

Don’t Want to Get Up in the Morning: Checked the weather forecast for Blue Star today, looks like it’s going to rain heavily tonight. Hannah could consider going later, let him get drenched!

The Scumbag Got Beaten Up Today: I agree with the previous comment, we only want to see the scumbag get his comeuppance now!

Hannah glanced at the feedback in the live broadcast room, without responding, but she slowed down as she was changing clothes.

A moment later, the sky outside grew increasingly darker; a strong wind blew, and distant rumblings of thunder could occasionally be heard. Only then did Hannah put on her raincoat and grab her umbrella to head out.

Luckily, the address Louis sent was not far from the apartment and only took about ten minutes to walk to.

On her way, Hannah came across a stray cat. She bought something to play with it for a while. At that moment, a bolt of lightning tore through the night sky, and the sudden flash illuminated her pale and delicate face.

The stray cat got scared and ran into the flower bed with the dried fish Hannah bought. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

The sky began to drizzle, and the rainfall gradually increased. Hannah stood up, put on her hat, and opened the umbrella.

When she finally arrived at the location agreed upon with Louis, he was miserably sheltering from the rain under an eave, completely drenched and looking even more pathetic.

From a distance, a slender figure struggled past a puddle with an umbrella. In that moment, the bleakness and self-mockery in his heart seemed to dissipate, as if a lost person had finally found their way home.

He felt comforted.

Louis couldn’t help himself and dashed into the rain.

The sudden intrusion brought a chill from the rain. He hung his head low, his face slightly red. Looking at the girl, he scolded, "Hannah Winter, are you dumb? Why didn’t you take a cab when it’s raining?"

The girl looked up at him. Even though she was wearing a raincoat and a hat, her face unavoidably got wet. Her crow black eyelashes, damp with rainwater, made her look even more pitiful and helpless.

She stared at the disheveled boy in front of her, biting her lip, "I’m sorry, I didn’t know..."

Tears welled up in her eyes, shrouded like fog over mountains at daybreak.

The rain-soaked flower trembled in the wind.

The anger in Louis’s heart disappeared by half for no reason.

"Forget it." Louis snatched the umbrella from Hannah’s hand and said awkwardly, "Let’s just go home."

Hannah just nodded, her eyelashes trembling, and a drop of rainwater slid down her smooth cheek.

Suppressing his emotions, Louis averted his gaze.

The two walked side by side in the rainy night. The umbrella Hannah brought was only large enough for one person, so it became a bit crowded when both of them were under it.

The rain dripped down, splattering on the umbrella and then splashing onto the ground. As they moved, the two unavoidably touched.

Before this, Louis stood outside in the cold wind for almost half an hour and was freezing. Furthermore, he was injured. His lips were a little blue, and the hand holding the umbrella continuously tightened, making his knuckles pale.

Hannah looked at the person beside her and couldn’t help but ask, "Louis, are you in pain?"

Louis looked at her and said irritable, "Can’t you see I’m injured?"

The boy’s tone is harsh, completely unlike his usual obedient self, as if an obedient student has turned into a delinquent overnight.
