No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1660 Arnold Simmons Extra (26)
"I’ve recently become obsessed with a newbie brother who just made his debut. Although he’s not very famous yet, he is incredibly handsome, a perfect match for my fantasy of a future boyfriend..."
When it came to this topic, Tessa Thompson was never tired.
If it weren’t for the chemistry teacher looking over, she could’ve gone on for the whole class period.
"Hannah, after class I’ll show you his photo, he’s really super handsome." Tessa Thompson said with a look of lingering enthusiasm, "Oh right, his name is Hayes Edwards, even his name sounds so nice."
"Hayes Edwards?" Hannah was slightly startled.
Busy flipping through her book, Tessa casually asked: "Yeah, what’s up, have you heard of him before?"
Hannah snapped back to reality, "No."
The chemistry teacher on the podium was deeply engaged in lecturing, while half of the students below were barely staying awake through sheer willpower; it seemed to have become the norm for every Monday.
Exhaustion, sleepiness, and the onslaught of countless test questions and formulas.
After an entire class period, even Hannah felt somewhat tired.
It has been quite a while since she left school life, and although she had already learned all this knowledge, picking it back up was proving to be a bit of an ordeal.
The bell rang for the end of class, and Tessa Thompson, who had just been talking about introducing her brother, couldn’t help but cover her stomach and dashed out, leaving behind the words, "Ate too much, we’ll talk more next break."
"You..." Slow down.
Hannah hadn’t finished her sentence when the person was already gone without a trace.
She smiled helplessly, bent down to pick up the workbook that Tessa had accidentally left on the floor.
Then, looking around to see if no one was paying attention to her, she stretched out both hands, gingerly grabbed the edge of the desk behind her, leaned forward, and whispered softly, "Arnold Simmons."
Her tone was gentle, as if sharing a secret.
A few seconds later, Arnold lazily lifted his head, his fringe was in disarray, slightly covering his eyes, and his voice sleepy and husky, "What’s up?"
No one around them took notice; everyone was either studying with their heads down or chatting in the corridor. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Hannah moved a bit closer, resting her chin on her hand, and met Arnold’s gaze evenly, "Are you coming to class this afternoon?"
Their distance was so close that it seemed as though a single step forward could allow them to touch each other.
Arnold lowered his gaze to suppress the slight tumult in his heart and feigned calmness with a smile, "You care about me that much?"
"No, I just..."
Just what?
Hannah thought for a moment and grabbed at an excuse, "I wanted to ask if you finished reading the book you borrowed the other day, I’d like to read it too."
Arnold sat up slightly, putting a bit of distance between them, but his shadow still enveloped the person in front of him. His mood inexplicably buoyed, his gaze steady on her, "Is that really why?"
Hannah looked at him, tilting her head, her eyes especially pure and clear, "Otherwise?"
He chuckled, said nothing, and stretched out his hand to pull the curtain by his side to block the sunlight, "Who knows what you’re thinking, girls your age are the easiest to be deceived by appearances."
The surroundings got darker, but it accentuated the clarity of the person in front of him.
"Who says I..." Halfway through her sentence, Hannah remembered her recent conversation with Tessa, her eyes lit up, "You were eavesdropping on our talk!"
Arnold spoke in a light tone, "I wasn’t eavesdropping. You two were disturbing my sleep."
"Is school for sleeping?"
"Otherwise?"
Hannah seriously stated, "It’s for studying well and striving for progress every day!"
She was incredibly earnest as she said this.
