No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1570: Meaningless
Bruce is considered a relatively advanced planet, but it is still far behind the imperial center city, Mo City.
The starship docked at an already somewhat dilapidated port, and not far away was the calm sea.
The sea was graced by the setting sun, large swaths of orange-red afterglow scattered across the water, creating a sparkling effect in the wind, as if fish were swimming through.
Some people couldn’t wait to start taking photos at the seaside.
The starship was flying towards the sunset, ready for its next journey.
Wayne Lane took out the map prepared in advance by the academy.
According to regulations, they had to minimize reliance on high-tech products, including light brains and artificial intelligence, hence their map was also made of paper.
After entering the First Year of Stellar, such paper maps had almost been phased out, but within the team, learning to use a paper map was fundamental.
It was to prevent important secrets and routes from being stolen.
Wayne Lane only looked for a while before determining where they would stay for the night.
It was a small inn in Bruce that wasn’t very conspicuous.
"The auction is in three days; we can wander around Bruce these three days," Wayne Lane put away the map, speaking to Hannah beside him.
Hannah was enjoying the sunset and turned her head upon hearing Wayne Lane’s voice, "Let’s go."
Both left the ferry port.
In the remote areas far from the center of Bruce, old streets were common, and the ground, wet from the rain during the day, was still muddy. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
There were many shops on the street, and many people like Hannah and Wayne Lane who came from other planets.
Most people came to Bruce either for tourism or for the auction in three days.
The street was bustling, and in the high-tech era, people seemed to enjoy the old streets more, finding walks there particularly comforting.
It always gave one a sense of the years remaining peaceful.
Walking forward for about two streets and then taking a turn, they’d arrive at the small inn marked on the map.
The exterior of the Inn looked like it was converted from an old residential building, its sign was heavily rusted in dark red, and only half of the multicolored lights were on, which could only be clearly seen during the day.
There was no one at the entrance, and few pedestrians ever stopped here.
If not for the mark on the map, Hannah would have thought it more like some spooky adventure building.
"Are you sure it’s this one?" Hannah turned to look at Wayne Lane.
Wayne Lane took out the map and checked the location again, "It’s definitely here."
He handed the map to Hannah.
Hannah glanced at the map and then at the sign.
Though the sign was worn, "Guest Arrival" was still legible, matching the "Guest Arrival Inn" marked on the map.
Hannah withdrew her gaze, placing her hands in her hoodie pockets, voicing her thoughts, "Doesn’t look like an inn, more like a den."
Wayne Lane put the map into his backpack and walked in front of Hannah, "If you’re scared, you can walk behind me."
His tone seemed slightly uplifted, as if teasing.
"Who said I was scared?" Hannah quickened her pace to catch up to Wayne Lane.
Bantering matches between the two always arose in the most trivial places.
Like right now, Hannah quickened her steps to get ahead of Wayne Lane.
But the corridor was too narrow, and Wayne Lane, tall with long legs, easily blocked Hannah behind him with a casual stride.
Annoyed, Hannah tried pushing him but couldn’t move him.
