No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 142 Moving Out
She paused her movements, gazing pensively at the small stuffed toy in the corner.
The toy quickly pulled its neck back in, sounding wronged, "Master, did you...did you spend last night with a villain..."
It stuttered and stumbled around the words for quite some time, but couldn’t say them.
If it weren’t for the fur on its face, one would definitely have seen it blushing.
Hannah wiped off the traces on her eyebrows and reapplied her makeup, "No, why? Are you disappointed?"
Relief washed over the toy, "No, master. I was just worried about you. What if you really have feelings for the villain?"
Hannah paused her actions, turned to look at it, her eyes smiled, "What of it if I do, and what of it if I don’t?"
"If you do, Master, you may not be able to return." The toy spoke haltingly.
Although its master was harsh, exacting, constantly vain, and neglected her duties, hardly ever streaming live even once a month and always looking for an opportunity to be lazy...she was still its master.
Whilst other artificial intelligences often mocked it for having the lowest operating system, it knew one thing.
That was, once an artificial intelligence acknowledges a master, it’s for life. Unless the master doesn’t want them anymore and sends them to be destroyed, they absolutely cannot betray them.
It didn’t want to be stuck on a star and it didn’t want its master to stay on Blue Star either.
Because it would end badly.
Hannah seemingly also knew what the toy was worrying about. She let out a sigh and, for once, comforted her artificial intelligence, "I know my limits. You don’t have to worry."
The toy wanted to say something else, but seeing its master seriously putting on makeup, it swallowed its words. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
Its master ought to be quite reliable, right?
The toy comforted itself inwardly.
Before the other dormitory dwellers came back, Hannah had already packed up her luggage.
Since most of her clothes were at Jack Stewart’s place, Hannah did not have much to pack up - just one suitcase.
In school, apart from Jack Stewart, she did not have any particularly close friends. As she was passing through the first floor, she merely greeted the dormitory supervisor.
The supervisor specifically reminded her, "As a young girl living outside by yourself, you must be careful and avoid being taken advantage of."
The toy agreed wholeheartedly from Hannah’s pocket.
Hannah nodded with a smile, waved goodbye, and left.
As she reached the dormitory building, she happened to run into May Hoffman, who was returning with two breakfasts.
She was all by herself.
May Hoffman was usually rather quiet in the dormitory. She was gentle, elegant, and unassuming. If they had not seen it for themselves, no one would have believed the complicated relationship between her, her best friend, and her best friend’s boyfriend.
Seeing Hannah leaving, May Hoffman stepped forward, glancing at the suitcase in Hannah’s hand, "You’re moving out?"
Without Jenny, May Hoffman became more reserved.
Hannah nodded, not saying anything.
The relationship between her and May Hoffman couldn’t quite be described as friendly, but it also wasn’t all bad. After all, May Hoffman had once taken Jenny’s side to scold Hannah.
May Hoffman was aware of the awkward atmosphere. She spoke stiffly, "Well then... I won’t bother you anymore. Goodbye."
"Hmm." Hannah gave a light acknowledgement, pushed her suitcase, and left.
May Hoffman didn’t return to the dormitory right away. Instead, she stood in place, watching Hannah’s receding figure. The emotions in her eyes were difficult to read.
The hand holding the plastic bag of breakfast could not help but clench tighter, and then tighten again.
