Chapter 137: Chapter 137: Dislikes Eating

The man watched, his gaze deepened, but his expression remained unfazed, "Want more?"

Hannah scowled, showing some disgust, "No, I don’t like it at all."

The finest Junshan Silver Needle tea, despised once it reached this young girl’s lips.

Arnold chuckled, finishing the remaining tea in his cup.

Despite Arnold’s love for tea, he merely sipped it modestly.

Tea is to be savoured; drink too much and it starts tasting like ordinary water, flavourless and wasted.

Before long, the manager arrived with several servers to set up the dishes.

Arnold didn’t order much, just enough for the two of them. All the dishes were the restaurant’s specialties, said to have originated from the imperial palace. Difficult to find elsewhere, they were served in limited quantities, not things one could simply order anytime they wished.

Hannah picked up a shrimp with her chopsticks, putting it in her mouth. Her brows furrowed in felicity in no time, her face exuding satisfaction as though her invisible tail was enthusiastically thumping the ground behind her.

"Delicious," Hannah proclaimed, her cheeks puffed out, her voice slightly muffled.

Although Arnold didn’t seem particularly interested in the food, he occasionally picked up a dish and placed it in Hannah’s bowl while watching her eat, a faint smile lighting up his eyes.

He started to understand why people outside loved feeding cats.

Watching someone consume the food you’ve brought to their lips was indeed, a very pleasant thing.

After taking a sip of her water, Hannah looked down at a piece of meat in her bowl, her chopsticks paused mid-air. She looked up at Arnold disgruntled and feeling wronged, "I don’t eat fatty meat."

Arnold picked up a piece of pork belly with his chopsticks and put it into Hannah’s bowl, casually admonishing, "Being picky isn’t good."

Hannah frowned, pushing her bowl slightly away, in a staunch defiance, "Eating fatty meat makes me want to vomit."

Arnold looked at her, seeing her serious expression and her genuine aversion, he believed her words and put down his chopsticks, "If you don’t like it, don’t eat it."

Seeing his casual and carefree attitude, Hannah became conflicted, "But you’ve picked it for me."

She lowered her head to look at the two pieces of meat in her bowl, her expression torn, as if she was making some tough decision.

Her display greatly pleased Arnold, their benefactor.

Despite her usual haughty demeanour, she could be so foolish at times.

He couldn’t help laughing, his usually indifferent expression slightly lifting. He picked up the two pieces of meat from Hannah’s bowl and put them in his own, then ate them.

He then took a sip of water, removing the oily taste from his mouth before saying, "Alright, continue eating your meal."

Hannah was satisfied, placing a piece of her favourite shrimp into Arnold’s bowl.

She used her own chopsticks.

After serving the dish, her eyes sparkled like shining stars, she eagerly watched the man in front of her.

Being helpless, a hint of indulgence filled Arnold’s eyes, a show of tolerance even he hadn’t noticed. He picked up the dish from his bowl and ate it.

This cycle repeated several times. Every time Arnold rejected her, Hannah would pout with a wronged expression, so delicate as if she would burst into tears any second, her eyes glistening.

But once Arnold ate the dish that she served, that layer of glistening mist in her eyes would disperse in an instant, as if it had never been there.

Arnold couldn’t help but think in his heart.

This young girl was truly suited for acting.

The colder and more indifferent a person is, the more touching and extraordinary their affection would be if one day they decide to truly care for someone, especially in the midst of harsh and icy surroundings.
