No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 124 Roy Yarn
Today was the weekend, and the streets were filled with pedestrians. The fact that this area was a shopping district made it all the more bustling. There were a few students with instruments singing on the side of the street. Nearby was an open piano case containing some loose change, and a signboard was propped up next to it with some neat characters written on it.
It was a charity performance, with all proceeds going towards an animal protection association for strays.
Hannah stood there, watching with eagerness for quite a while. The lead singer snuck a few glances at her.
In the sunlight, the radiant and lively beauty of the young girl was captivating. Her sparkling gaze had seized everyone’s attention. The faint smile gracing her lips flowered into a lovely glow with just a slight curve of her lips.
When the song ended, Hannah left a hundred yuan from her small bag for them and departed.
She hadn’t stepped far when the lead singer caught up to her, sweating profusely, "Could I trouble you to wait a moment?"
Hannah turned and looked at him, "What’s up?"
The boy seemed a bit embarrassed, but he held out a concert ticket, "We’re students from a nearby music academy. In a few days, our school will be holding a charity concert. I noticed...noticed that you seemed to enjoy the music, so..."
Stammering a bit, the boy glanced hopefully at Hannah, "Here’s a ticket, will you come?"
As soon as he finished speaking, he regretted how direct he had been.
But once the words were out, he couldn’t take them back.
Hannah looked at the boy in front of her, her eyes filled with amusement. She didn’t take the ticket but asked unexpectedly, "What’s your name?"
Caught off guard, the boy hurriedly replied, "Roy... Roy Yarn."
At the sound of that name, Hannah quirked her lips, her smile deepening. She extended her hand to accept the ticket, her tone soft, "Very well, Roy. I’ll take your ticket, thank you."
"So... are you going?" Roy Yarn called out to her retreating figure, slightly nervous.
Hannah simply waved her hand, "If I have time, I’ll go."
Getting her response, the boy laughed shyly, muttering to himself, "I was pretty presumptuous, but I’m glad she wasn’t angry."
Hannah hadn’t gone far when her ever-loyal companion Golden Lotus sprang into her mind, eyeing the dumbfounded boy standing far away, "My lady, is that Roy Yarn?"
Hannah nodded, "Didn’t you hear him too?"
Golden Lotus smiled slyly, "I simply didn’t expect you to bump into him here, considering he doesn’t appear until much later in the story."
Hannah: "Just a coincidence, a guess."
Golden Lotus murmured, "You are incredibly lucky to have guessed correctly, my lady."
Hannah just smiled without a word.
In the story, Roy Yarn was a unique character. His scene didn’t play out until the end. Though not elaborately portrayed, he was certainly a tragic figure.
A graduate from a music academy, a musical prodigy, born into a wealthy family, he was a winner in life.
That was, of course, before he ran into the protagonists.
Hannah intended to get closer to him, to use his identity to her advantage.
They were all tragic side characters, and the enemy of one’s enemy was an ally.
Right now, Golden Lotus didn’t quite understand the master’s plan, but it was excellent at keeping secrets. It didn’t divulge anything to the interstellar live-stream platform in order to protect its master.
Perhaps because Hannah had just generously left a hundred yuan for the students, she hadn’t walked far when a beggarly looking woman suddenly fixated on her. The woman then rushed over with a little boy and knelt in front of her.
