Still unsurprised, Ning Xuan nodded. "I figured as much just now. The Jiao King's estate is involved too, isn't it?"

"Clever! Big sister here is starting to like you more and more," the Palace Master said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear to hide the shock in her eyes. This boy is far too clever!

Ning Xuan had no time for riddles. "So, what are you trying to say?" he asked directly.

"Aren't you the clever one? Why don't you take a guess?" the Palace Master replied playfully, batting her eyelashes.
