Chapter 328: Chapter 328: I Hope The Next Unlucky Guy Has a Higher Status!

If the Fourth Ancestor was truly out of seclusion, how could these humans possibly have left unscathed? The Jiao King’s face was filled with confusion and bewilderment.

"They’ve come out of seclusion, and they were quite helpful," Ning Xuan nodded, his gratitude sincere.

After all, they contributed a great many Divine Crystals. As for the rest... forget it. Saying it out loud would be too crushing for this poor Jiao King. Better left unsaid.

"You all still have your cultivation!" one of the attendants exclaimed.

Ning Xuan simply nodded again. "That’s right."

"Then how did you..." The Jiao King and his two attendants exchanged glances, the confusion clear in their eyes.

This was far too strange. A bad premonition began to form in all three of their minds. But after another glance at Ning Xuan’s group, they forcefully dismissed the thought.

How could that be possible?

"Your residence has changed quite a bit. Perhaps you should go on ahead?" Ning Xuan suggested, stepping aside with the four women.

"My lord, I’ll go back and take a look," the Jiao on the right whispered.

The Jiao King nodded, and the attendant instantly vanished.

"My residence isn’t far from here. I trust you don’t mind waiting a moment?" the Jiao King asked, his tone gentle but carrying an authority that permitted no refusal.

Ning Xuan smiled and shook his head. "We don’t mind."

They’ll all be dead Jiao dragons soon enough. It’s pointless to argue with them.

"Very good!" The Jiao King was pleased with Ning Xuan’s attitude.

However, a quarter of an hour later, the smile vanished from his face. His subordinate hadn’t sent any feedback. This was not right. The man had been with him for a long time and would always report back, no matter what happened. He would never remain this silent.

"You lot, come back with us!" Before the Jiao King could speak, the being on his left stepped forward, his eyes locked onto Ning Xuan.

"There’s no need to go back. I’ll be honest with you—your Jiao King Residence is no longer worthy of its name. Everyone, including your ancestors, has been all but wiped out," Ning Xuan said, laying his cards on the table.

"You... what did you just say?!" The Jiao who had stepped forward trembled, his voice shaking.

Ning Xuan didn’t repeat himself, instead turning his gaze to the Jiao King not far away.

"How did you do it?" the Jiao King asked in a deep voice after a moment of shock.

Ning Xuan clapped his hands in mock admiration. "The Jiao King certainly lives up to his name. To remain so composed in the face of such a disaster... Admirable, truly admirable!"

The Jiao King’s mouth twitched. This man must be mocking me! How infuriating! But... if what he’s saying is true, then getting angry now means I’ll be the next one to die! I must not get angry! he mentally coached himself.

At the same time, he did not forget to subtly signal his remaining subordinate.

Then, his subordinate exploded. "Hahaha, on your own?! This is Tianyang! A lowly human like you dares to be so insolent?!"

"The Jiao King Residence isn’t worthy of its name? What big talk! Do you have any idea how much trash like you we keep in our residence?!"

"Three hundred and twenty-six of them! They’re more obedient than dogs! You worthless piece of—"

His killing intent billowed as his aura continued to surge. Though he was the focus of this murderous pressure, Ning Xuan’s faint smile never wavered.

Just as the Jiao’s tirade grew more outrageous...

PFFT!

Before he could finish his sentence, he was sent flying. A new figure had appeared beside Ning Xuan: Jiao Tengyun, the sole surviving ancestor of the Jiao King Residence.

"Ancestor, what is this?" the Jiao King exclaimed, both shocked and overjoyed to see him. But as he glanced at his subordinate’s motionless form in the distance, he was mostly bewildered.

"Are you blind?! Can’t you see what I’m doing?!" Jiao Tengyun roared, his eyes wide as he glared at the Jiao King as if he were a mortal enemy.

"Ancestor, what’s wrong? I’m Jiao—"

The Jiao King tried to send a spiritual message, but before he could finish, Jiao Tengyun cut him off aloud for all to hear.

"Jiao, my ass! Don’t get familiar with me! If you don’t want to die, scram!"

The Jiao King was completely stupefied. He desperately wanted to ask what in the hell was going on.

Has the Ancestor lost his mind? Or... could this Ancestor be an impostor?!

He quickly dismissed the latter possibility. The aura emanating from Jiao Tengyun was far too powerful and undeniably authentic. It couldn’t possibly be faked.

The Jiao King looked at Jiao Tengyun, only to see him nodding and bowing subserviently to Ning Xuan.

"What about the other three ancestors? What happened to them?" he asked again, his heart sinking with a dreadful thud.

"They’re dead, of course! Along with all the others! I killed them all! Do you want to die too?!" Jiao Tengyun stared at the Jiao King, his face a mask of murderous intent. Deep within his eyes, however, was a look of pure desperation.

I’ve warned him multiple times, but this fool still can’t read the situation! He just keeps asking questions! The epitome of stupidity! If Ning Xuan says the word, I’ll really have to do it!

As if on cue, his greatest fear came to pass.

"Old Jiao, don’t just talk the talk," Ning Xuan chimed in with a gentle smile.

The moment Jiao Tengyun glanced at Ning Xuan, his heart nearly leaped out of his chest. The look in Ning Xuan’s eyes was terrifying. He could see right through me!

"I’ll act! This servant will act right now!" Jiao Tengyun replied without a second’s hesitation.

"Ancestor, you can’t be—"

BOOM!

The Jiao King had barely started speaking when Jiao Tengyun struck with merciless force.

PFFT!

Though the Jiao King was extremely powerful and already on high alert, the single blow sent him flying backward, spitting blood. Jiao Tengyun hadn’t held back at all, unleashing his full power.

I wanted to hold back, but I don’t dare! Ning Xuan’s Cultivation Realm may not be high, but his methods are so bizarre and unpredictable they drive me to despair! If I hold back, he’ll definitely find out, and I can’t bear the consequences!

Realizing his ancestor truly intended to kill him, the Jiao King finally abandoned his last shred of hope. He turned and fled for his life.

"Hehe, too late!" Ning Xuan’s gleeful voice echoed from behind.

Jiao Tengyun knew those words were for him. A direct warning! I can’t even think of holding back now!

ROAR! 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

A dragon’s roar shook the heavens and the earth. At the same time, a massive claw shot forth, appearing instantly above the fleeing Jiao King’s head. The Jiao King let out a dragon’s roar of his own, but his was filled with utter despair. He was already immensely powerful, but before his ancestor, he was nothing. Worse, Jiao Tengyun was using their clan’s ultimate innate technique. Even with several more of himself, it would be useless.

"Ancestor, forgi—"

BANG!

Before he could finish, the claw seized his body, and he exploded into a mist of blood. Not even his Divine Soul escaped. Body and soul were utterly obliterated.

Moreover, the other Jiao dragon didn’t escape a finishing blow. With another swipe of the claw, he too was annihilated, body and soul.

A flicker of sorrow crossed Jiao Tengyun’s face before vanishing. When he turned back to Ning Xuan, his expression was once again a mask of smiling subservience, nodding and bowing.

"My apologies for alarming you."

There was no response. He looked up, puzzled. The smile on his face froze. He was stunned to see one of the women beside Ning Xuan fiddling with an object.

He knew what it was. A Memory Stone.

"Ahem, you were so magnificent just now that I couldn’t help but record it. You don’t mind, do you?" Yuan Yurong asked, shaking the Memory Stone in her hand.

"Not at all! I don’t mind in the least!" Jiao Tengyun’s face bloomed into a wide smile, not daring to show the slightest hint of displeasure, even though he knew full well why she had recorded him.

"You have a bright future. I have high hopes for you," Ning Xuan said, walking over to pat Jiao Tengyun on the shoulder before leaving with the women.

Long after Ning Xuan’s group had disappeared, Jiao Tengyun finally snapped out of his daze and muttered to himself, "I hope the next unlucky bastard has a higher status."
