Chapter 164: I AM BACK!

In the outskirts of the kingdom stood a building so tall and huge that it loomed against anyone who saw it.

Though not many people came around this part of the kingdom because of the rumors of the people that inhabited this part of the kingdom, it didn’t stop some people from coming around. It was of course the infamous town of Witforley

Just like every part of the kingdom, the sun glistened not leaving the mansion out as it sparkled from a distance.

The town was neat, no doubt. Trees were planted by each side of the road and they fell over each other thereby creating a shade on the road. Slips of sun came through from the tiny opening of the trees. Looking at the town, it was alluring just like the gentle breeze that blew by the trees.

It was inside this outstanding mansion and in one of the rooms of the mansion lay a young man on the bed. His hair was damp from constant sweating albeit the room was cool.

The eyes of the man were tightly shut as though he didn’t want to ever open them again. But on a closer look, his hands were clenched by his sides. Looking at him entirely, one would notice the struggle of this young man wherever his mind might have traveled.

The door to the man’s room clicked open and two men dressed in black cloaks stepped into the room.

Each of the men went to the other side of the bed where the man lay. Their green eyes focused on the moving chest of the man, indicating he was still breathing. These were none other than Leonard and Fredrick the witches. And the man on the bed was none other than Marco the brother of Perdita.

"It has been two days already," Leonard stated in a grave tone.

"I know," Fredrick shook his head as he spoke. "Maybe he is still fighting it. You know he is now a vampire, so it is natural his body gets accustomed to what Serena did to him."

"For how long, Fred?"

"I don’t know, Her Ladyship knows what she’s doing and also how the body of the boy works. Perhaps he might wake up soon. Let’s just give him time to recover." Fredrick replied with a shrug.

"I pity the boy," Fredrick began. His green eyes were soft on the sweating Marco. "His sister is doing well more than he is. He is the most affected."

"Heard everything happened because of the smell from the exorcism ritual Her Ladyship had conducted in the village where they once lived." Leonard narrated what he heard from Serena.

"What if his body needs blood?" Fredrick suggested. "You know the day when we first met him at their house in Woodbridge village where he had gone to collect their important belongings. I saw him burying cats at the back of their house."

"Cats?" Leonard questioned with his brows arched upwards in surprise.

"Yes, cats," Fredrick affirmed. "My guess is that they could have been drinking their blood in place of a human’s blood. That is the reason why I suggested giving him blood since his body might be in need of it."

"What if it backfires and in turn hurts the boy more than he is already hurt." Leonard couldn’t help but voice his concerns.

Fredrick negatively shook his head. He said, "It won’t. He is a vampire, they require blood, and also a witch, we require blood too. It is what his body needs the most now."

"We should inform, Her Ladyship before we go ahead with this."

"No," Fredrick rejected the suggestion from Leonard. "If we inform her, she wouldn’t agree to it."

Leonard bent his head in thought. The feeling that what they were about to do turning haywire nagged at the back of his mind. He inquired from his fellow Witcher, "So what now? Do we get a cat’s blood or a human’s blood?"

"A human’s blood," Fredrick replied. He pulled the small rope attached beside the side of the bed and before long, the passive-looking Butler arrived in the room.

"You called. For me, Masters." The Butler bowed. "What. I. be. Service to?" As usual, the butler spoke in an incoherent manner, breaking his words in half while leaving his audience to fill in the gaps.

"Get me a glass of blood," Fredrick ordered.

"Right. Away, Master." The Butler without questioning left to get the order of Fredrick.

Within a minute, the Butler arrived with a glass of blood in his hand. "Here. Your request, Master."

"You may leave," Fredrick took the glass from him and he left without another word.

"Are you sure about this?" Leonard skeptically questioned again.

"Trust me, Leo," Fredrick spoke in confidence as he brought the blood close to Marco’s lips.

Marco who lay on the bed unaware of what was happening around him through his senses smelled the rich scent of the blood. His throat moved in response to the smell as he unconsciously sought-after the blood.

"Did you see that?" Fredrick asked Leonard who nodded his head in reply while praying nothing bad would happen to the boy.

Fredrick proceeded to tilt Marco’s head backward to allow the free flow of the blood in his throat. He opened his mouth and began to pour the blood into Marco’s mouth.

Marco in his unconscious state felt the liquid drop in his mouth. The sweet smell he had smelled earlier. His throat bubbled up and down, giving passage to the blood to move into his stomach.

The door to the room burst open and in came a furious Serena. "What the hell are you feeding him?!" She questioned in a hard voice.

"Blood?!" She shrieked more on sighting the blood in the cup and the one smeared on Marco’s lips. "Who asked you two to feed him that?!"

"It was my idea, Your Ladyship." Fredrick stepped forward with his head bowed. "I was trying to help the boy wake up."

"By feeding him blood? Do you think that is good for him? You should have left him to fight it himself and wake up naturally." Serena banged her hand on the bedpost in annoyance. Her green eyes blazed in anger at what the men did.

"If anything happens to the boy, consider yourselves dead. Do you understand me?!"

"Yes, Her Ladyship." Fredrick and Leonard bowed.

The furious Serena stormed to the side of the bed to check on Marco to see if anything went wrong.

Just as she wanted to touch the neck of Marco, her hand stopped midway when the dark red eyes which unfortunately belonged to Marco snapped open, looking intently at her in a cold yet calm manner.

"He’s awake," Serena spoke with wide eyes. Her green eyes met with the happy ones of Fredrick and Leonard.

"I told you it would help him wake up," Fredrick said to Leonard who felt thankful that nothing out of order happened.

Serena and the men were so engrossed in the happiness they felt, that they failed to notice the calm look in Marco’s red eyes slowly turn to rage. Before anyone could say a word, Marco suddenly jerked Serena with his hand and threw her across the room where she landed on the wall.

Leonard and Fredrick couldn’t react on time as they were left speechless at the turn of events.

Marco on the other hand, slowly rose from the bed with an unnerving smile on his face. He said, "I am back!"
