Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven-Chapter 369: You will never reach me
"No, who is this individual?" Modred’s eyes flickered with panic, but just as quickly, he calmed down.
"Who cares who he is? He just crossed a threshold of power. He must still be exhausted from the tribulation. I can eliminate him right now if I stab him in the back."
True Abyssal Lord Modred was swift. He knew that the other party had expended a lot of energy during the tribulation and in dispersing it. It was the perfect time to backstab him and end his life!
When it came to backstabbing people, he was number one!
Silently, he utilized the Law of Disorder. The spatial nodes around the entirety of the Northern Continent went into complete disorder.
The Fragment, who was next to the experts, had a change of expression seeing this.
The following moment, Modred’s figure flickered as he instantly teleported behind Grey.
"Watch out!" The experts of the Azure Origin Planet immediately shouted, their expressions changing.
However, Grey didn’t pay any heed. He just stood in the air with his eyes closed, reviewing the changes within his body.
"Hahahaha! It’s too late for that!" As Modred said that, he thrust his sword forward, aiming straight for Grey’s heart.
However, just then, static noise erupted in Modred’s ears.
He blinked.
"Huh?" Modred’s expression changed drastically. "What?" His eyes widened.
He realized that his sword was now a few millimeters away from Grey’s body.
"Did I miss?" Modred was dumbfounded. How was that possible?
"What was that?" The Fragment’s eyes widened.
Modred was confused, and the Abyssal Army in the sky looked on in confusion as well. All they saw was their Lord missing his attack just before it plunged into the man’s heart.
"No time to waste." Modred shook off the confusion just as quickly and charged once again, seeing Grey unmoving.
This time, he went for the neck.
However, just like before, he heard a static noise erupt within his head. In the following moment, he snapped awake to realize that his sword had missed the neck by an inch.
"How is that possible?" Modred was stunned, then enraged.
He launched another attack immediately, not wasting a second.
"Abyssal Killing Lotus Technique!"
Whrmmm!
Chaotic lotuses glitched into existence as the power of disorder surged violently, flickering in and out as they rapidly formed a circular formation around Grey.
However, before the lotuses could even land on Grey’s body, the static noise appeared again.
"Huh?" Modred’s voice was caught in his throat.
"W-Why are my lotuses going in the wrong direction?" He was both bewildered and shocked.
The man he was attacking remained in the same position, but the circular formation that had originally formed around him defied its trajectory and shot in other directions.
"What is this? How is this possible?"
The first time could be treated as a fluke. The second time, a mistake. But even an AOE skill isn’t landing?
How is this possible?
"Curious?" Just then, a playful voice assaulted him.
Modred’s instincts flared in alert as he heard the voice. The man in front had long vanished, and he was right behind him!
He immediately took action, throwing a direct jab behind him as he turned around.
However, the same static noise erupted within his head, and he realized he had missed his attack by a few inches.
"Surprised, aren’t you?" Grey stood in the air with a casual look on his face, his white hair fluttering in the wind.
Modred didn’t answer. He lunged forward with the Flame of Entropy erupting, roaring as he crashed his fist toward Grey.
The same static noise erupted, his vision flickered, and in the next moment, he was punching air.
"Do you know what a possibility is?"
"It’s a factor that determines what can happen in a period of time. A possibility of getting lucky, a possibility of dying. Everything has a possibility. Even your movement has a possibility. Who knows if you suddenly lose control over your power as an Abyssal being and explode?"
As Grey began explaining, Modred’s expression began to change drastically.
The Abyssal energy within him suddenly started to go out of control, and his figure began to bloat rapidly.
"Oh, what a coincidence." Grey looked at Modred in surprise. "Are you going to blow up?"
"Y-You... what did you do to me?"
"Me?" Grey pointed at himself with a surprised expression.
The following moment, Modred burst into an explosion that sent a shockwave throughout the entire Azure Origin Planet.
"I didn’t do anything. I just increased the possibility of you exploding from energy deviation, although it did take a lot of energy, i’m almost emptied out, but it was worth it." Grey said while grinning as he used the Devourer of Chaos to restore energy.
Then, a deadpan look appeared on Grey’s face as he turned toward the Army of the Abyss. There were almost thousands of them.
Without missing a beat, he stretched his right hand out and pressed his forefinger and middle finger together in a sword gesture.
"Severance."
As the words left his mouth, the world flashed with crimson annihilation light. Sword energy shot toward the army, and within seconds, their bodies turned into grids before dark blood fell from the sky like heavy rain.
The experts sucked in a cold breath seeing this.
The Fragment had already appeared next to Grey.
"Y-You, what was that power you used on Modred? It can’t be your domain, right? You haven’t unleashed it yet, nor do I sense spatial power."
"Domain?" Grey laughed. "I don’t need to use my domain to deal with a small fry."
As he said that, he glanced at the portals above.
"Alright, it’s time to pay the Abyss a visit. What do you think, Fragment?"
"It could be dangerous. Unlike this world, the Abyss is huge. If you make too much commotion there, a mighty 6th Rank or 7th Rank expert could appear."
"We can just run away when that time comes." Grey smiled. "The World Breaking Source Power can be used to make a return trip, after all."
The Fragment nodded.
"Although it’s a pity i wasn’t able to reach sainthood." Grey suddenly said.
"Sainthood? It’s still too early." The fragment shook its head. "You need to be at least at the fifth rank to fully awaken it. Aka, achieve the first transcendence, and when you do, it will turn into an entire starry sky phenomenon."
"The birth of a full saint is no joke and not something a fourth ranker can handle."
Grey simply nodded, the day he reached the fifth rank wasn’t far.
He then glanced at the experts.
"What are you all doing here?" Grey asked with an indifferent look. "Go spread my path."
As he said that, he waved his hand and transmitted the Aether Evolutionary Path to the experts.
"Make sure that the existence of my path is revealed to the entirety of the Azure Origin Planet before I come back."
The experts nodded heavily.
"Good."
With that, Grey shot toward the portal and entered it along with the Fragment. It was finally time to wrap things up and go back home, but before that, he wanted to increase his soul integrity a bit.
