Chapter 84: Chapter Eighty-Four: What Sort Of Person Are You, Adrik Ivanov?

New York city.

~~~
If there’s anything Adrik didn’t see coming, that would be watching the mark that belonged to one of his useless brothers on his girl’s neck.
He didn’t need anyone to tell him it was their doing, Oregon wouldn’t go ahead that fast to show him that he was serious, when he said that he should stay away from Narika.
Adrik has always had his suspicion that meeting Narika isn’t any coincidence. Polina missing is also not a coincidence and one way or the other, Lucifer or Oregon has messed with him.
That fading mark on Narika’s neck didn’t belong to any other creature but a demon. Judging from how exquisite it was, it wasn’t any normal demon that would risk their life by touching what’s his.
Lucifer won’t have done this either, or did he? The motherfucker has always wanted a reason to talk to him, and he isn’t planning on doing that until now. One of his sons had touched his girl, who was it?
The arrogant one with the blue hair? What was his name again?
His hands moved out to touch the mark on her neck, and Narika shivered at his touch. It felt pleasing having his hands there, unfortunately she didn’t see that mark when she woke up this morning. So why now? Why is it hurting?
It seemed Adrik noticed the way she was acting, when he touched her, he retracted his hands immediately from her neck and took her hand into his own, turning to leave.
"W..where are we going?" Narika asked him, the last she could remember she hasn’t given him any answer to his proposal, and she’s definitely not leaving to the underworld with him.
"Would you rather stay here and freeze to death? Trust me sweetheart, we don’t want a repetition of that mark on your neck." Adrik said, his voice sounding annoyed when he talked about the mark on her neck. But it wasn’t her fault that it happened, just like she had found him. She doesn’t know who did this to her.
"So, what am i going to do?" She asked him, as they walked. If anyone saw them one would think that they were two couples that were having a walk under the rain. But it was the opposite, Adrik might be kidnapping her and she wouldn’t know.
Oh stop it Narika, he’s acting nice.
"It isn’t a matter of what you are going to do, because at this point of time, babygirl. Someone is trying to take what belongs to me." He spat, the thoughts of wrapping his hand around the neck of the motherfucker who did this filled his mind. Yet, he doesn’t have a definite suspect yet.
"I don’t understand Adrik. I just want to know why this is happening. It started when i met you. Who knows if your bad luck hasn’t transferred to me." She said, frowning her face at the last statement. Yet, she didn’t let go of her hands that were on top of his own.
He smiled at her ridiculous way of telling him she hates him, when it was obvious that what she felt for him was anything but hate. Just like it was with him too.
What’s this feeling?
He thought, looking at her face that was now looking forward since he wasn’t planning to answer her questions. But the expression on her face made him know that she needed answers, which he’s afraid that finding out the truth about what she is, and why his family members were after her, wouldn’t settle well with her.
But yet, he didn’t say anything to her but continued with their midnight stroll to the hotel he wanted to lodge her in.
"So, how do you keep up with being in the human world without anyone finding out that you are dead?"
"Is this face really yours? You are dead for five years Adrik, please don’t tell me that you are like a ghost prince or something, because you have beat science on their knowledge about ghosts."
If Adrik had known that she was this talkative, then he wouldn’t have suggested that they walk. But he wouldn’t exactly say that he didn’t like it either, because he loved the way her eyes glinted when she talks, and the dimple fanning the corner of her lips while she talks.
She’s beautiful, really beautiful.
"Adrik!" Narika yelled his name for the third time, and this time it worked because he was out of the trance he was and raised his brow at her.
"Yes baby."Adrik answered, making her roll her eyes at his endearments towards her.
"I’m feeling cold. You have been staring at me like a fool." She whined, making Adrik wonder if she had any idea who she was talking to. Just because he decided to show her a little kindness, doesn’t mean that she can talk to him anyhow.
But yet, he couldn’t complain about it. She’s hot when she’s angry, and all he could think of at the moment was to kiss her right now. Would she make a fuss about it like last time?
"Adrik seriously? Do i have something on my face?" She asked, her hand leaving his hand to touch her face incase if she had something on it. He’s behaving weirdly, staring at her with those gorgeous eyes that hide the sinister creature in him.
She knew what Adrik was, and he’s anything but any normal ghost. It made her wonder what sort of life he lived when he was still human.
Yet, there’s the confusion about him staring at her the way a human would do, the way a lover would do to the woman they love. It fanned her curiosity to know what exactly she meant to him.
She’s nothing but his tool for revenge, Polina is the only woman in his life he would ever love. Narika knew this, yet why did it bother her so much?
She means nothing to him, yet his eyes say differently.
What sort of person are you, Adrik Ivanov?
