Chapter 159: Chapter One Hundred And Fifty-Nine: Keep Your Pathetic Flower Away From My Wife!

The Underworld.

Sekè.

Narika was doing a good job avoiding Adrik, although she knew that with time she would eventually have to give him an answer about his proposal.

He told her he loved her, but she couldn’t help but feel like it was the prophecy that prompted him to do that. It’s pretty obvious because unlike her whose powers were still sleeping, and had not awakened yet, Adrik was exposed to everything that had to do with the prophecy.

At some point, Narika couldn’t help but feel happy about it, about her powers taking such a difficult step to awaken. Adrik had promised her about finding a seer to know what exactly was wrong with her, not because he wanted to force her, but it was for her own safety.

As both of them didn’t know when they would encounter another enemy, maybe the angels, Micheal and Camael, then there’s his father, who was probably preparing his best trackers to find them.

So, it was only right that she isn’t a liability, as he didn’t want to lose her again. As eager as he is to protect her, he still wanted her to be able to fend for herself too.

But Narika had done well to hide from him that her grandma was a seer, she wasn’t ready to face her family anytime soon. Although, it would be really dangerous to do that judging from the fact that Lucifer might hurt them, once he knows that she’s still keeping in touch with them.

So they were better off without her, that was what Narika had concluded while trying to make her stay here in Sekè comfortable to her liking.

Adrik has gone to meet Laila’s mother, who had prepared to meet the village head, while he also had other things to do like finding Oregon, his godfather.

While she was with Laila, gardening!

Life in Sekè was simple and comfortable, it was alarming that they offered accommodations and whatnot to every creature out there that needed hospitality, their warm heart gave off more than that of any normal human being who would rather hurt them than to treat everyone with love and respect.

It was appealing that Narika got to know from Laila, that Adrik was the second demon to have stepped foot here. The people weren’t warm towards their king because of how cunny and troublesome they can be, but Adrik, was the first person to have being accommodated without being accessed by the leader, until today.

The neighbors were loving, and treated each other like family. But that was what they were here in Sekè, everyone is family and they protect each other to their last blood.

"So, what is it with you and Austin?" Laila asked, breaking Narika from her wave of thoughts as she jerked from where she squatted down while helping Lailay weed off in her little farm. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

A little exercise that she had taken to distract herself from the burden she carried, and also to avoid Adrik for the time being.

She couldn’t be in the same room, and not feel his intense stare on her every goddamn seconds, that had her trembling because of his confessions.

Gosh!

She’s behaving like a teenager, but it can’t be helped, Adrik is ...

Whatever!

"What?" She asked Laila who had this naughty grin on her face, at first she didn’t understand what she was saying until her next statement.

"Come on, I can feel t in the air. You are avoiding Austin, did you guys fight or what? What was your wedding like? I have always imagined getting married to someone handsome and caring like him. You should have seen his face when mother was trying to heal you, he’s totally in love with you." Laikay said, dreamingly, making a little clap with her hand and then faced her.

Laila is a big talkative.

Narika would do well to remember that Laila is a big talkative, just like she’s trying to divert Adrik from her, here she was trying to lie about the wedding that didn’t ever happen.

"Actually I..." she trailed on, feeling shy from how Laila was eagerly waiting for her to tell her what was happening between Laila.

Laila was a fine young lady, although it still didn’t sit right with him with her getting closer to her, acting all nice and stuff. But that was how the young elf lady was.

Narika had to blame herself for thinking that she’s pretending, but what would you have her do when all her life she’s been running from people that wanted her dead.

"It’s fine if you are too shy to talk about it, but i must say, Austin is the most handsome i have seen since people started arriving in the village. The competition that would arise between the ladies here.." Laila didn’t finish her statement because she ended it with an innuendo but Narika could understand exactly what she’s saying.

Well, it won’t bother her if Adrik starts getting famous among the ladies here, and they start flocking around him. That’s his business.

She could care less if he did cheat on her after confessing his love for her, she doesn’t care or did she?

Narika humped angrily before throwing the little hoe she was holding to the ground in frustration.

"Are you okay? Do you still feel tired from traveling?" Laila asked, concerned.

"Yeah, am fine." She said, looking around to see that they were almost done and she needed to rest.

But when Laila tried to speak, a

clearing of the throat behind them had them turning instantly to meet two attractive boys, one had a flower in his hands while trying so hard to hide how nervous he was.

While his friend seemed like the outspoken type. Narika had concluded that Laila was receiving a flower from an admirer and turned to give her the needed space, only to hear the shy one speak.

"I’m sorry for approaching you like this, but I just wanted to give a flower to the most beautiful woman in all of Sekè, my lady." Mr. Shy brown eyes said.

"Oh my god! The flowers are for you, Narika." Laila gasped, while covering her mouth in excitement.

Narika didn’t want to accept, since she didn’t feel the need to give the young boy any chance to think that she’s any tad bit interested in him, until Laila urged her upon knowing that she’s married just like Adrik a.k.a Austin had claimed.

"Th..ank you, they are lovely." She said with a smile, while the boy fejt on top of the world at seeing that she accepted his flowers.

"I’m sorry that i’m too forward, but there’s a feast going on in the evening, and i would like to invite you as my guest."

Now, this was where Narika tried to decline, since she didn’t see the need for all these. Heck! She doesn’t even know when they would be leaving here, but until then, Adrik had advised her to keep a low profile.

"Actually.." she tried to speak but an all too familiar voice had to step in, making her voice die down with how aggressive and angry it is.

"She’s married, and I would advise you to keep your eyes and pathetic flowers away from my WIFE!"
