Narika: The Ghost Bride-Chapter 148 - One Hundred And Forty-Eight: But Now, He’s Fighting For Their Love.
I love you, Narika.
Adrik’s words were still fresh in her mind, and no matter how much she tried to unhear what she just heard, it was worthless considering how close she was to him right now.
She was seated on his lap, with his oceanic blue eyes looking into her skeptical brown eyes that weren’t so sure about his words. If they had met on a different occasion, with her not believing in the first place that he was a ghost that was set out to kill her, she would have believed him because Adrik was her type of man.
She wasn’t going to admit it now, because she isn’t going to reciprocate his feelings. No! Not when she’s still confused about the new information she has between the both of them.
The girl that was identical that she saw in her dream, was all real and she’s her great grandmother who was trying to take control of her body, just to fulfil some fucked up prophecy that Adrik hasn’t given her much insight about what the prophecy was all about. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Then there’s him being a demon, and not just any demon. A demon prince, he’s the son of Lucifer, the king of hell. This was too much information that would have him rethinking their closeness with him, because at this point she didn’t know what else was out there.
All her life she has wanted to be normal. Narika saw the world in a different light, although she couldn’t help to notice that there’s a deep ache within her that couldn’t be helped even with her parents trying to help her settle down on earth. Her parents knew that she didn’t belong on earth, and she had wanted to find out what was so special about her that people would notice straight on without her telling them anything.
Until now, things has been made clear to her and no! This was not what she was expecting. She can’t have Adrik, a demon prince confess his love for her, like what was he expecting from her when they are married? She can’t even bear the thoughts of giving birth to his demon children.
Jesus!
She has always had a different approach when it comes to things that are connected with hell, but here she was sitting on the lap of the chosen prince of hell, who was expecting a reply from her after his love confession.
Instead of telling him what was in her mind, Narina was sure that judging from her behavior he would be able to see that she’s not going in the same direction with him. Love was far from her mind right now. She only wanted nothing but to see her parents.
She wanted to sleep in the arms of her mother, while she threads her hand through her hair just to sooth her worries away and promise her that things are going to get better.
"I ..can’t do this." She confessed, trying to standing up from his laps but his hands were fast enough to keep her right there. But this time she nearly coughed out loudly when her middle man rubbed against his own, that was starting to get hard from her just sitting here.
"This is what you do to me, babygirl. I have being nothing but a mess ever since they took you away from me." Adrik told her, moving forward to grab her hand and placed it on his beating chest that was usually hot, until she suddenly remembered that he’s a demon. Demons has usually hot temperatures, and she was forced to think if he doesn’t miss his home.
" It’s okay if you don’t tell me how you feel about me right now, but i want you to know that this heart beats for you, sweetgirl. I am willing to wait for you." Adrik confessed, and Narika had to look at him a second time into his eyes just to ensure that he’s not drugged.
Because this was definitely not the Adrik she knew, how could someone so cold and wicked like him turn overnight just to be a lovesick boyfriend, who wanted nothing but his girl to love him back.
Although they weren’t dating yet, but that doesn’t mean that they would. Everything is messed up between the both of them, and Adrik isn’t helping matters by confessing his love to her.
"You don’t understand,Adrik. I don’t want any of this," she had to force herself up from his lap, before running her hand frustratingly through her red hair that was starting to stink.
"Hey listen babygirl..." Adrik tried to hold her again, when she seemed as if she was trying to have another panic attack.
"Don’t babygirl me, okay!" She yelled, moving away from him." I didn’t ask for this, I didn’t ask for you to tell me that we are a mate or whatever. How can you expect me to forget everything that i went through because of you. My life is ruined because of you, Adrik and you expect me to smile at you when you turn a new life just because some stupid prophecy connects us." She cried.
Adrik’s heart shattered seeing her this way, and he understood where exactly she was coming from. Had it been that he didn’t find out what he is, and how exactly they were connected. He would still be fighting for Polina...but how’s he’s fighting for the both of them. He’s fighting to create a peaceful life for her, because she wants to spend the rest of his life with her.
"Ba.. Narika, I apologize for every pain I’ve caused you, but you should know that in as much as you are angry about all these, that i was misled too. My father fucked us over, and i would be darmned to let him do that over again because of the prophecy."
"What does the prophecy says? I can’t help but not feel good about this, Adrik? So what is it?" She asked him, waiting eagerly to hear what he had to say about this prophecy.
So without wasting any more time, Adrik had to tell her the truth because there’s no point trying to sugarcoat his words anymore just because he’s trying hard for her not to leave him.
"A war is coming to hell, Narika, and inorder to win against the crystal palace. The prophecy had us involved..."
"To do what exactly? Speak up?"she urged him.
"A baby, in order to win, we are expected to have a baby, Narika."
