Narika: The Ghost Bride-Chapter 141 - One Hundred And Forty-One: His Beloved..Polina Was Right Here.
"She..took you away from me."Sakura confessed while Adrik had his hand wrapped around his throat. She couldn’t think of the cost of her actions, rather she was blinded by the love and affection she had for him, even if it was going to cost her her life, she was willing to die by his hands.
Afterall, she had no reason to live anymore. After waking up to find out that Nina had helped her trick her uncle, she had locked him up and waited here for Adrik to come find Narika. The bitch was responsible for what they were passing through. If she wasn’t in the picture, she would still have their baby here with her.
Sakura was dumb and foolish, to the extent that she couldn’t get the right information from Nina, before she set out for her plans.she didn’t remember much about what she has done to her father, but inplace of her, he’s going to play dead for the rest of his life. She served him the same treatment he gave her.
"Our ba..." Sakura tried to tell him about the child, but he chose that time to cut off her air circulation, making it hard for her to breathe or talk.
Adrik tightened around her throat while he bared his teeth at her before bringing her closer for him to drink from her neck, while she screamed in pain. He didn’t want to kill her, because that’s impossible to do that to a ghost without taking her life force, rather he flung her across the room thinking that she was dead.
His red eyes shot back to where Narika lay dead on the floor, the irregular beating of his heart didn’t do much to convince him that she’s still alive. He wanted to believe that, but for the fact that she had not exhibited her powers were the reason why he feared that she’s gone for real.
His mind went back to the day Polina cried when the gunshot to his chest sent him to the floor. It was the same just like now, but this time he’s the one who’s heart was bleeding instead of Narika.
He ruined her family. At this point, Adrik was forced to believe that his powers which he thought were a blessing were indeed nothing but a curse. What is the use of his powers if he can’t use it to save his loved ones?
Adrik bent down before cradling Narika to his chest, his shaky hands went up to feel for her pulse and when he found none. A loud roar left his lips that shocked the quarters of the room where he was with her laying dead in his arms.
"I’m sorry...baby. I’m so sorry." He cried.
Adrik cried like a baby, as she held her close to him in fear that if he opened his eyes that she wouldn’t be here anymore. Oregon and his daughter played him. They deceived him.
"I failed to protect you for the second time, am so sorry, Polina." He muttered, uttering words that didn’t seemed befitting for the son of the king of hell, and that’s the reason why Lucifer envied him out of his sons.
Unlike him and the rest, he was the only one who had what they didn’t have. Human empathy and the feeling to love and feel loved too. That’s more reason, why Lucifer wanted to change the prophecy to his own good. Unlike him, who he deemed was weak because of the soft heart he had, he wouldn’t be able to lead them to victory in this coming war.
Adrik’s tears touched Narika’s skin that was starting to turn pake, her body went frigid cold that he didn’t notice because of how usually hot he was, considering what he was until he felt the footsteps coming from the background.
His ears hitched up and he was able to hear the command coming from Amos, the head of his father’s Army. He saw red when he noticed the first movement coming up close to her.
He didn’t waste any time as he stood up with Narika in one of his large arms, his wings covering her up in an approach to protect her from any attack coming from the invaders in Oregon’s palace.
With a flick of his hand, the pathway closed with the demons who were trapped inside, before he disappeared into the large hall where thousands of his father’s army were waiting for him.
He stood still watching the face of everyone, they chose to hurt him. The chosen one while they knew that if anything happens to him, then they could say bye bye to them winning the war without him and his child.
Well there’s no child coming anymore, Narika is dead.
He noticed the absence of his father here, and he tried to think of what exactly was holding him up from not being here to witness the death of his son
He will make them pay for the pain they had caused him.
His beast roared at the sight of the demons, by his left hand side raising their bow and stick to face him.
None of his siblings were here either, and that entails that something was wrong indeed.
"This doesn’t have to end this way, My prince. We have been ordered to bring you back safely to the palace, but only if you drop the girl and step aside." Amos announced, only that made Adrik see red and he wasted no time to ruin the archers , as they ended up in ashes.
Amos didn’t seem scared of him, and that was something debatable when he raised his hands up to kill him and the remaining ones present, until something..no, someone else had his attention making him believe that Lucifer was messing with his mind until he heard her speak.
"Adrik." Polina’s voice broke down at the sight of Adrik, who stood dazed at the sight in front of him.
Yeah.
He has been dreaming. He’s dreaming!
But how?
Polina was here!
His beloved is right here standing in front of him!
