"I know it’s too hard for you to believe. I just can’t..’’Mario explained everything, but Hendrix didn’t look fazed as to how much he was, when he heard all this for the very first time.
If anything he looked as if it nothing much, until he interrupted his words, which confirmed Mario’s suspicions about him.
"No, i am not surprised at what’s happening because my mother is not human either. She’s a witch. Just like Baram or whatever it is you say her name is, but i would do everything within my help to ensure that Narika comes back home."
Hendrix stood beside his car, with Mario facing him while they were outside of his house. He didn’t know that Narika was the said ’child’ that would bring chaos upon earth, just like his mother has been saying.
But he wasn’t stupid to tell Mario what his mother knew about the prophecy. He was the only person who was in the dark about having mythical creatures living among them.
He’s a result of a copulation between a witch and a human. But he didn’t inherit his mother’s powers and neither did Hanna. But anyway, having heard what Mario told him, Hendrix was able to understand why he was drawn to Narika. He understood the reason why he didn’t feel okay knowing that she’s miles away from him in the town, while he’s in the city.
It brought a smile to his face, and also did it calm his nerves down about him hiding his true identity about what he was to her, just because he’s afraid of her rejecting him.
But stupid him didn’t realize what this means to them right now, he didn’t see what his place in her life was right now. She’s the mate of Lucifer’s son, Adrik. He has no chance with her anymore. She’s above his league and he can’t go against the prophecy just because he was attracted to her.
Nevertheless, he didn’t say anything yet to conclude his unreciprocated feelings for her, since the most important thing right here was to find out if she’s safe, then the next step would be bringing her home once after this war is over.
Yeah, that’s when he would let her know about his feelings for her. Lucifer would have no use for her when she has served her purpose, and when she’s at the tight end where she’s nothing but her normal self again. He would be there for her. He would be the one who she spends the rest of her life with.
Not with Adrik. He’s a demon.
But with him, he’s a witch, just like her and she can’t break the sacred bond between witches to involve a creature hideous as a demon into the circle of witches. She would be with him. She always wanted to be normal and happy, and he will give her that. That’s a promise he intends on fulfilling.
"I’m not surprised how you found out about me, I am sure i didn’t leave any trace for anyone to lead on to find my identity. But you are a wizard." Mario paused before laughing. So, he was the one who was in the dark about everything happening.
"I’m sorry, we can’t reveal our identity easily to humans. They can be quite fuzzy about the whole stuff, and am really not good at being embarrassed and..." He paused, before looking at his wristwatch.
"I will talk to my mother about all these, and then i will get back to you. Don’t worry, she will be fine." Hendrix patted his shoulder, while Mario smiled before affirming his words.
"Okay, do have a safe trip back. I will file you in after meeting my father." Mario added, as Hendrix entered his car and left for the city.
Mario watched him leave, before another black sleek car went away just after Hendrix left. At first, he didn’t think much about it, because he hadn’t seen the car around in the neighborhood. It’s a small world in Tomorrow town. But at this point he had nothing to fear any more.
He doesn’t care if this was his father’s people searching for him, because just like he’s searching for him. He’s also looking for him too. So, it’s just a matter of time till they meet each other.
He was quite nervous about that, but he pushed the uneasy feeling aside and stepped inside the house to see Marya standing at the doorway. She was waiting for him, and yes of course, she had been crying because her face looked red and all swollen.
If she continues this way, she’s going to fall sick very soon and he can’t have that.
"Baby." He called softly, before she hugged him. He pecked her hair while she sobbed in his arms. " Everything would be fine, sweetheart. I promise you." He cooed.
"Has he left already?" Marya asked, from where she was in his arms. She couldn’t control her crying while she explained things to Hendrix.
Mario answered her questions, before pulled away from the hug and kissed her temple." We are going to fix this, Marya."
"How?" She asked, not believing that there’s anyway this wouldn’t end without violence from both families." How sure are you, that your father would be willing to settle with the Ivanovs because his grandchild is missing? He wouldn’t even believe that she’s not human. This is just crazy!" Marya spat.
It was all confusing, and there’s no guarantee that Alex wouldn’t kill him at first sight.
"Hey, it’s okay. First things first. I will meet him, the rest can follow after it’s settled that he’s not a psychopath anymore." Mario finally gave in.
He has been avoiding his father, and planned to keep it that way until he died but just like Seline has explained. They all are connected by fate, and there’s nothing he could do to change that.
This is all for Narika. It’s all because of his daughter, aside from that his father can go to hell. But what makes him a father if he can’t sacrifice for his family?
