Narika: The Ghost Bride-Chapter 128 - One Hundred And Twenty-Eight: Kiss Me, Miguel.
"What is going on here!" The angry voice of the Big boss, Sergie Ivanov had both Miguel and Vanessa looking towards the direction of his voice. Since their compromising position had given off the wrong idea to him. Miguel could see the way his eyes shot up in anger at him, but not towards his grandchild.
Whereas, he has no idea that he was the one trying to keep things professional with her, but Vanessa was temptation. He couldn’t stay away from her, and that kiss didn’t help the matter at all.
"Grandpa." Vanessa pushed him aside, making him nearly stumble because of the force, only to see her engulfed in the arms of the big boss. A big smile evident in her face, it’s up to her to calm his nerves down right now."you left me here with father, he’s so cruel towards me. He forced me to go to that party and..."
Vanessa complained like the child she was, and yeah that was what she is. Because if she was not, she would have known who makes the orders around here and it’s definitely not her dad.
"I’m sorry about what happened, I would find the son of the bitch and kill him. I’m sorry, my precious." Sergei said, kissing her hair, as she stayed in his warm solace that his body provided.
Unlike her strict parents, her grandfather was the only one who she felt comfortable talking to about what’s going on in her life. The man was practically the only person who had traveled weekends to come visit her in Paris, after she had left the country due to Adrik’s death.
Her mother was on monthly visits, which usually ended up with both of them having issues and that always ruined their mother and daughter time together, as if they actually did have one. No! They didn’t. She was so dwelled upon in the past about Adrik’s death, that she forgot that she has a daughter.
So, yeah. You can practically say that her grandfather was her best friend.
"I thought i would never see you again, Mother has been treating me like shit ever since i came back. She still hasn’t stopped talking about Adrik. She doesn’t recognize me as her daughter, I want to stay with you grandpa, I don’t like it here. I’m scared."
"That’s enough with the fake tears, Vanessa." Marilyn’s cold voice was heard from the back and she pulled away from her grandpa, with a shocked expression on her face.
She didn’t feel bad for what she did, because that was the truth. She doesn’t see her. She acts like she’s invincible in this house.
"Father, you didn’t tell me you were coming over." Marilyn stepped inside her room, her eyebrow raised in a questioning glance at the sight of Miguel. Jason would only end up regretting the decision he made by keeping Miguel so close to his daughter. The dude was practically fucking their daughter.
"I don’t need permission to see my granddaughter, but all i need is one good reason why there’s a man in her room, Marilyn. What exactly are you teaching this young girl?" Sergei queried Marilyn, who scoffed at his words but before she could say anything, Vanessa was already running her mouth.
"He’s my bodyguard, grandpa. He’s the one who saved me." Vanessa blurted out immediately, when she noticed how her grandpa was trying to insult Miguel. If anything, he should be thanking him about what he had done.
"Really?" Sergei’s attitude changed instantly at her words, his cold demeanor was long gone hearing that he’s the one who had saved his child, even though he was quite in a bad condition himself.
He stepped forward towards Miguel, who didn’t say a word since he didn’t want to interrupt the family bonding.
Miguel didn’t expect the warm treatment when he pulled him into a hug, which left both Vanessa and Marilyn speechless at his actions.
"Father, I.." Jason was interrupted at the scene in front of him, when he made his presence known in Vanessa’s room.
It made Miguel uncomfortable, this was the first time he was meeting someone of such high caliber. He had heard stories about him. He didn’t look like the type of man that would smile at anyone, but of course except for his family. But here he was, hugging him as if he was one of the Ivanovs.
Miguel heard Vanessa giggled, but that died down when Marilyn glared at her, before the big boss pulled away then said." I must thank you so much for what you did for my child. I wouldn’t have known what else to do if i found her body in a bodybag. What is your name?"
"Miguel, Miguel Byers." He replied, holding eye contact with him just so he could tell him that he isn’t intimidated by him.
Sergei smiled, before patting his shoulders and that made him wince in pain when his hand touched his injury." I’m sorry. I would fund every expense that came with your treatment."
"But sir..." Miguel tried to decline the offer, it didn’t cost that much to treat his injuries because he did it himself.
"I insist please." Sergie smiled, " Jason, inform my accountant to transfer ten thousand dollars to the young man’s account."
"Ofcourse, father." Jason affirmed to his orders immediately.
"Seriously father, he was just doing his work." Marilyn rolled her eyes, her dad can be quite generous when he wants to be. So much for her looking for an excuse to fire Miguel, now her old man wouldn’t believe her even if she told him that her granddaughter was sleeping with him.
"I do hope you continue keeping her safe, I would keep in contact, Mr. Byers." Sergie said before turning over to Vanessa, who had this huge smile on her face as if she just won a lottery.
"I will be waiting downstairs, pumpkin."He pecked her hair, before leaving while Jason followed behind. Marilyn was the last to leave, but not without wagging a finger at Vanessa, and said." We need to talk." Then, she left too.
Vanessa couldn’t curtail her joy, so she rushed over to Miguel, " Do you.."
But her statement wasn’t completed, instead she was left in a state of surprise as she felt Miguel drag her close to him, before his lips descended on hers.
He returned her kiss.
"I don’t know why i did that, but i want to do it again." He mumbled against her lips, before she tugged at the collar of his shirt.
"Kiss me, Miguel."
A simple order which he didn’t waste more time to obey, now this was a good way to start a new week.
