Chapter 117: Chapter One Hundred And Seventeen: He Was No Angel Of Light.

Suncity, Mainland A.

Ivanov Family House.

~~~
Jason was fuming.
Vanessa was on drip, she was receiving treatment from the family doctor who couldn’t help but felt pity for the young girl, since after hearing what had happened.
"Is she going to be okay?" Marilyn asked, she had a blank look on her face that it made Miguel, who was present, wonder what exactly was her issue with the young girl.
If he was right, he could recall that she never for once acted as if she was bothered, after hearing what Alex’s son, Adrian, has done to her child.
Her child!
This was the child who she conceived on her own, but her actions says otherwise as if Vanessa was adopted. But anyway, it wasn’t in his place to say anything since Jason, has no problem with her being insensitive about the whole thing.
Yet, Vanessa wasn’t disturbed about all that. He saw the way the young girl held onto her mother’s right hand, with her eyes closed.
She was sleeping, but she held onto Marilyn’s hand in fear that Adrian might come back looking for her, if someone wasn’t here with her.
Miguel walked away when he heard Jason calling for him, outside Vanessa’s room door while Marilyn and the doctor were with Vanessa inside the room.
"She’s going to be fine, she’s just stressed up about what has happened. I would suggest that you see to it that she gets to eat properly, and take her medications. She will be up in a few hours, so it’s a sign that it’s nothing serious, Mrs. Ivanov." Doctor Chris said with a smile, while Marilyn did nothing but affirm to his words with a slight nod.
He packed up his equipments, and was soon out of the house. He had a few with words with Jason, who has sent one of his men to see that he arrived to his house safely.
Doctor Chris has been working for the family for a long time, so it’s only right that he was treated like a family since he understood the criteria that came with working for the family.
Marilyn sat at the foot of her bed, while she did nothing but stare at Vanessa’s sleeping figure. Her mind was a mess of its own, since all this time all she was imagining was in different ways of Killing Alex herself.
Marilyn knew that if she told this case serous, way more than her husband takes Alex’s case. She’s going to ruin not just their reputation but Lucifer would be happy that she was turning to a monster like him.
That’s not what she wants to live to see, but yet the guilt that she wasn’t able to do anything when Adrik died still live with her. The pain that came with her begging Lucifer to do something, to not take her son away from her. He had reminded her why he was called a devil. He was no angel of light. He was no giver of life.
That’s how she lost her son because his father didn’t do anything, but allow the culprits who were behind what has happened to go scot free, to still roam around the earth freely as if they owned it.
When Lucifer could do something like avenging his death, and aswell give her one more chance to see Adrik. But she didn’t have that chance.
As if that wasn’t enough, Alex was also trying to take Vanessa away from her. This wasn’t about him and Jason anymore. It certainly has to with her too. It certainly has to do with his jealousy that she was with Jason, instead of him.
But the big question was how exactly would she be willing to be with a monster like him? She had made the first mistake by dating Alex before she saw Jason.
Jason was everything Alex isn’t. Until Lucifer came into the picture, right now she was confused about where her heart was.
Marilyn’s thought was broken when she felt Jason place his hand on her shoulder, then kiss on top of her head.
"She’s going to be alright, sweetheart." Jason assured her, his hands rubbed at her arms in a soothing manner which made Marilyn frown at that.
These days she kept her distance from Jason, why? Because he had been drugging her since Adrik’s death. But he doesn’t even know that she knew about everything that was happening.
She paid the maids to keep shut about it, and act according to whatever he tells them. But here was, acting as if he was any better than Alex who had being nothing but an abuser throughout their relationship.
"You need to get some rest, Marilyn. Miguel would be taking over from here." Jason told her, and Marilyn nearly sighed at the mention of Miguel’s name. Who knows if this wasn’t a plan by him and his guard to frame Alex up so that she could hate him more?
Jason didn’t like the idea that they both had history, but it isn’t her fault that she met him before his stupid ass.
"What are you going to do with him?" Marilyn asked suddenly, making Jason’s brow to arch up at her question.
"With who?" Jason pretended as if he didn’t know who is him? He has been waiting for today, for her to talk about Alex.
"Oh! Please stop acting as if you don’t know what am talking about. You need to stop lying to me, Jason." Marilyn stood up from the bed, and glared at him. She had forgotten so soon that they were in Vanessa’s room.
"Baby, what do you mean? I’m not hiding anything from you." Jason said, keeping his cool since he didn’t understand what all this is all about.
"Really?" Marilyn scoffed. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Baby..." Jason tried coming close to her.
"Don’t touch me." She said harshly, before leaving the room while Jason stood confused since he didn’t know what exactly he did to deserve her hostility.
He couldn’t think of anything he might have done to her, in the past few weeks that would turn her this way.
But anyway, he shoved everything behind his mind before he walked towards Vanessa’s bed, and pecked her temple.
"I should have listened to you baby, I’m so sorry."
