Chapter 655: Chapter 270: Sun Knight, Leo_3

"My mistake, there is not an abundance of Ancient Gods, just one, please continue."

"Torgoguryr dwelt in the realm of the Ancient God’s followers, a thousand years ago, the space where Torgoguryr resided overlapped with the Icebound Continent, and the Five Goddesses joined hands to place a seal upon him..."

"Afterwards, God-chosen Knights took turns guarding the Icebound Continent, protecting the seal, and preventing the arrival of Torgoguryr..."

"Subsequently, a problem with the seal emerged, and in order to stop Torgoguryr from awakening, the God-chosen Knights divided Torgoguryr’s body, what we see is, in fact, Torgoguryr’s head."

"Before me, the Holy Maiden Anastasia of the Dark Church failed to seal it, resulting in the contamination of the Golden City..."

Faced with Wayne’s puzzlement, Cushing shared all he knew, but specific details about the timing of the seal, when the Life Alliance split, or why the Goddesses did not personally reinforce the seal, Cushing was utterly clueless.

These secrets involved the deities, Cushing had never been privy to them, nor had he considered them, because any conjecture or speculation was seen as disrespectful to the faith.

That the Five Goddesses sealed Torgoguryr, and the five major God-chosen Knights were stationed on the Icebound Continent, suggested ongoing cooperation around the seal, indicating a good relationship between the Goddesses, at least not as hostile as they outwardly appeared.

Yet on the God-chosen Continent, the three major beliefs of the Life Alliance and those of darkness and death were diametrically opposed, with absolutely no room for friendship.

Wayne frowned and speculated, firstly, it was clear that the ship of friendship among the Five Goddesses had already capsized; once close as sisters, now they likely split into two chat groups or more.

Maybe because of Torgoguryr’s strength, or the strength of the Ancient God behind him, once he descends, the foundation of the Five Goddesses on the God-chosen Continent would instantly collapse; with no oxen or horses, no one could profit. Hence, even after splitting, there was still cooperation, allowing knights to team up for cards on the Icebound Continent.

Calculating the time, sixteen years ago, there was no talk of Dark Knights, and the Holy Maiden of the Dark Church received a Divine Decree to cross the Misty Sea to seal the skull of Torgoguryr.

Defeated, she became a host shell, and then The Sun Church took the stage.

Wayne roughly sorted out the timeline, pondering that after he returned, he should discuss it with Austin. The seal on the Icebound Continent involved the five God-chosen Knights; with the Twilight Deadlock being hot potato, he must quickly find the true Knight and hand over the sword.

What’s wrong with being tormented by one’s wife? Surely, just because of Austin’s personal desire to regain his vigour, they can’t ignore the crisis facing the God-chosen Continent!

Without the Twilight Deadlock, see how I’ll deal with you!

Wayne’s eyes lit up, deciding to talk sense into Austin as soon as he got back; order is of utmost importance, without order, there can be no life, Old Login would surely understand.

The two hurried along, one after the other, with the Knight’s Armor floating behind them.

Reaching the edge of the abyss, Cushing held up the medal high, as thousands of feet of golden radiance burst forth from his palm, sketching the complex Magic Array Diagram.

This diagram already existed; Cushing stimulated it, infusing it with the Divine Power of the sun to reinforce it.

Wayne squinted, among the countless intricate Magic Array Diagrams, he observed five different faiths’ phantom images. Due to the seal’s deterioration over time, the phantoms had grown dim, which presented Torgoguryr the chance to awaken.

Curiosity welled up; it was understandable for a regular Mage to fail at sealing, but how could the craftsmanship of the Five Goddesses be so poor?

Was it possible that someone was not putting in the effort, or did they intentionally break the seal?

"Roarrr——"

The ancient being’s roar churned, gathering countless deep, chaotic voices into a contaminated assault void of discrimination, madly battering against the three at the edge of the abyss.

Wayne inwardly groaned with a headache; the Valkyrie could hold on, but Cushing could hardly bear it, his complexion gradually growing pale, his body almost melting, foam and sweat running down like a stream.

Time to reveal thyself!

Wayne raised his hand to Cushin’s shoulder, helping him maintain his human form while infusing his own solar magic power to hasten the sealing’s stability.

Whoosh!

An enormous tentacle reached out, looming over the heads of the three like a collapsing pillar, bringing with it the rumbling winds of a storm, its descent unstoppable.

The Valkyrie’s body turned into light, zipping in front of the tentacle with fierce radiance swirling around her, both hands gripping the Knight’s Greatsword as she slashed horizontally.

Whish!

The Valkyrie’s stature was incomparable to the tentacle; it was like a normal person comparing themselves to a skyscraper, her Knight’s Sword seeming as insignificant as a toothpick stirring the ocean, an effort that seemed laughably futile.

But as the golden sword shadow flashed by, the skyscraper was sliced in half, fluid gushing from the split surface, and the severed tentacle fell towards the distance.

Black downpour fell from the sky, pungent and teeming with life, displaying an astonishing vitality.

This blood reassembled upon the ground into monsters with writhing tentacles, emitting unintelligible cries as they relentlessly charged at Wayne and Cushin.

Wayne swept his hand to unfold flames, bolstered by the Divine Power of the Sun. The flames scorched the earth, creating a sea of fire. The intense heat distorted the air and instantaneously disintegrated the monsters’ telekinetic barriers, leaving them to burn to ashes.

The severed tentacle began to transform, its potent life force allowing it to maintain high activity. Separated from its body, it began to reshape itself, slowly contorting towards the appearance of the monsters.

The Valkyrie’s eyes blazed with golden light as she raised her sword and charged forward.

Wayne glanced over but didn’t interfere further; although the knightly sister was not at her peak, her skills were still...

Boom!

Golden light scraped the ground, plowing a deep furrow as the big sister’s honor was dragged through the dirt, sliding all the way to Wayne’s feet.

Wayne turned around, stepped on her shoulder armor, helping her to brake and then looked astonished toward the transforming tentacle.

His mistake; he shouldn’t have been so flippant in his encouragement.

The black sludge from the melted Golden City, which had merged with the ground, had reached the edge of the abyss without notice, whispering everywhere. Wayne had not been aware of its presence before.

At this moment, the rotting black flesh of the Golden City and countless snails emerged from the ground, merging with the severed tentacle, forming a black serpent with innumerable tendrils for heads.

The serpent opened the single eye on its forehead, fixing everything in its gaze, twisting the world’s space, aiming to thrust Wayne and the others into another dimension.

Wayne’s eyes narrowed, the sockets glowing with a reddish hue as he charged up his fiery gaze, ready to unleash.

Whish!

Just then, a wave of spatial distortion crossed realms, and a golden sword light cleaved, severing the serpent’s head.

Wild flames spread from the cross-section, burning up and down along the serpent’s vibrant body. In almost the blink of an eye, a puff of ash scattered with the wind.

The torn space rift hadn’t yet closed; the hazy light and shadow were distorted and overlapped, revealing the figure of a Golden Knight holding a lance, standing amidst a land of ice and snow.

Sun Knight, Leo.
