Ronald and his companion didn't linger too long with Councilman Dalman.

After a brief discussion of their thoughts, they bid goodbye to the busy Dalman and hurried towards the east side of Hamono City.

The great demon Lama was not spared either.

Dalman, the Summoner, ordered him to assist Ronald and Catherine, so Lama could only follow them with a bitter face.

Ronald was eager to see the actual state of this city as soon as possible.

Having already met with the city councilman, he didn't need to worry much and directly used a flying spell to get there.

Before long, the trio of two humans and one demon arrived at the site of the previous conflict.

There was no need to even land.

Just hovering in the air, Ronald could see the mess on the ground.

The beautiful wood-and-brick structures were scratched and disordered by sharp tools, many things on the street were smashed publicly, and there was a young girl with a distressed face, sitting on the ground crying.

"..."

With a sweep of reconnaissance magic, Ronald glanced down and immediately turned to look at Lama with resignation.

"If we're going to be honest in our cooperation, you shouldn't stage such a deliberate performance, should you?"

The demon's expression was extremely awkward.

Because a large part of the scene below was actually staged by city officials.

Summoners in Hamono City were adept at summoning and dispersing summoned creatures, and within the city limits, orders could be transmitted and executed almost without delay.

"Mr. Ronald, this... this is beyond my control."

Lama explained awkwardly.

But Ronald didn't continue to 'torment' the nerves of this great demon.

He simply waved his hand to indicate that the matter was over, and then took the lead to land on the ground.

Ronald could understand Hamono's actions.

To protect the 'high-level forces' that he and Catherine represented, putting on a display was clearly something the officials were willing to do.

As the three landed, Lama hurriedly addressed the crying girl:

"Naphel, pack up and leave quickly, your performance has been seen through."

"Also, inform your superiors that this sort of thing shouldn't happen again; Mr. Ronald's capabilities are not something to be easily fooled!"

"..."

The crying girl was taken aback.

Then she simply got up from the ground, packed her things without any hesitation, and left.

Although Lama's order was embarrassing,

she heard the hidden warning in his words, and explaining the situation to those above was now of utmost importance.

"..."

As the girl left directly, Catherine suddenly smiled and asked Lama,

"Demon, it's rare to see summoned creatures that can order people around. Did you rely on the status of your summoner for this?"

Catherine's question pointed directly at a foundational aspect.

And Lama explained without hesitation:

"Madam, that's not the case."

"Due to the city's customs, in Hamono City, both summoners and the summoned enjoy all the responsibilities and rights of natural persons. Therefore, even though I'm a summoned creature, I hold an official position in Hamono."

"If you're curious about the young lady's reaction earlier—it's because my official grade is higher than hers, so she promptly complied with the order."

"Haha—" Catherine chuckled noncommittally, a look of contemplation in her eyes, "It's quite interesting that summoned creatures can also serve as civil servants."

After thinking for a few seconds, Catherine no longer paid attention to Lama but turned to Ronald.

This man didn't care about the deception by Hamono City's personnel.

Immediately after landing, he was intently studying the fragmented details on the surrounding streets, as if something very important was hidden within them.

Catherine approached and asked,

"Ronald, what's the point of studying these deliberate 'performances'?"

Ronald pointed to the tree wall he was observing and explained,

"Although many parts were created afterward, with close observation, there are indeed genuine aspects. For example here, after the trees were damaged, the reaction of the wounds differs over time."

Hearing the explanation, Catherine also leaned in.

Following Ronald's actions, she examined the tree in front of them and indeed found differences in the scratches, with distinct differences in color, moisture, and the shape of the surrounding bark between new and old wounds.

"You even understand this stuff?" Catherine asked casually.

However, she didn't care much about this point and instead continued to inquire about Ronald's findings.

"So? What did you see in these wounds?"

"I saw the sequence," Ronald said bluntly, "There are two main types of marks on the street: one left by sharp tools like swords, and the other exhibiting obvious magic fluctuations. Between the two, the marks from blades clearly appeared first, which indicates who made the first move."

"..."

Catherine never expected Ronald's observations to be so meticulous.

She was stunned for a few seconds, then shook her head with a smile and said,

"Ronald, that's quite impressive of you."

"If it were me, I'd just use a spell to inquire about the situation, which would be much more efficient than this!" 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

"Directly using a spell is indeed simple and quick, I have no issue with that." Ronald nodded slightly at Catherine, his gaze shifting from the tree wall to their next location, "But for me, when it comes to matters involving humans, I prefer gentler methods as my first choice. As for your efficient method—unless they really get on my nerves."

Though their approaches differed, Catherine still smiled and said:

"That works too, after all, we're different people."

"..."

So Ronald carefully examined the conditions of this street.

With as little interference as possible, he confirmed a fact.

Even though the people of Hamono City intended to deceive him, Councilman Dalman's previous explanation was not false.

The many sword marks, clearly not tactics of Hamono's casters,

indicated that it was the migrants who made the first move.

Furthermore, judging by the spell marks, one could see that before things escalated beyond control, Hamono's casters exercised restraint in their actions.

The findings in front of him already explained many issues. But to be safe, it's better to confirm further.

With this in mind, Ronald stood up straight and asked the great demon behind him:

"Lama, can we find those migrating tribes if we follow this direction?"

Lama nodded quickly, confirming Ronald's inquiry:

"You are correct. Just a few kilometers straight ahead, and you can see them in the woods outside the city!"
